THANK YOU SO MUCH! My 10 year old son, and 8 year old daughter both have ARFID. My son is wasting away in front of my eyes. We have been through a lot of feeding therapy and I can't seem to make headway. Hearing you speak about what helped you clues me into the fact that I need to approach this from a mental/emotional healthcare standpoint along with his feeding therapies. None of his doctors or therapists have made mention of this or have even indicated this could be part of the root cause. I don't know how my kids developed PTSD around eating and food, but it is my mission now to find out. Thank you so much.

Arfid is hard to beat especially when pregnant i try to force myself to eat for my child but its hard beong afraid of food. My ex husbands sister poisoned me for 8 years with foods that im legitimately allergic to so im afraid of food now.

i am so sorry... when you forgive it will free you... even when that person is not sorry... they do not know better.
God will take care of it.

i just bought your moms book a few days ago, i’m halfway through and almost every single word in there i can relate to so much it’s crazy. i am not officially diagnosed with arfid, but my family and my doctor have suspicions. your videos and this book are making me feel much better and i don’t feel so alone. thank you so much.

I don't think I could do that type of therapy. I have a phobia of the human body, organs, and blood, so just listening to you talk about this therapy and your kidneys made me really anxious. :/ To the next therapy, I guess.

I think somatic experience therapy sounds very much like mindfulness ad relaxation techniques? To get grounded in your body, maybe your breathing, claming your physic down. Would you think those could have the same effect or does it have to be this special therapy form?

I am so so so happy this worked for you. I'm far too logical for a therapy like this to work on me. I know kidneys don't actually open or flower, and I know adrenal glands can't be turned on and off with human exterior touch. I'm just too scientific for a therapy like this to work on me. I hope there is something like that out there for me.

Actually, the touch triggers the release of calming hormones which do in fact counteract the stress hormones such as adrenaline, cortisol, etc. so the truth is that yes, adrenal glands can be down-regulated with the right touch. Consider some techniques which you can do without assistance to reduce the stress associated with the desired outcome, such as conscious breath control, mindful meditation and mental imagery, and as with any change, define baby steps that you can achieve daily and then celebrate every success, even if only quietly. I wish you well.
