  • "And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward, 6 but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end."
12 Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God; 13 but exhort one another daily, while it is called "Today," lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. 14 For we have become partakers of Christ if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end,

Wow this was a year ago. Lol.. yes, sweetheart I know we can't lose salvation nor can a Christian work for their salvation. It's all Christ in you doing his work till the day of redemption. What I am saying is that this letter was speaking to saved Hebrews. That's all. That should end the battle. ♥️

Look at the context of the entire letter. It's written to Hebrews who are saved, Hebrews who are saved but still in a mixture of covenants (see all of Galatians) and to Hebrews who were rejecting the new covenant, continuing in the covenant of the law. It's called "Hebrews." and was written to believing Hebrews (see Hebrews 3:1), to Hebrews who were saved but confused (see Hebrews 5:11-13, 6:4-9) as to what covenant they were in (just like most of the church of today, stuck in a mixture of covenants) and Hebrews who were rejecting Jesus, still remaining under law (see Hebrews 10:26), and if you look at the context, you can see the entire book is showing the Hebrews that the covenant of law is now useless and we have a better covenant with better promises in Jesus (see Hebrews 7:19, Hebrews 8:10 -12. Those who have entered His rest in the new covenant (see Hebrews 4:10,11) have been sanctified once for all time (see Hebrews 10:10) sanctified and forever perfected (Hebrews 10:14).

@@falconguy4768 Have you read Hebrews? The entire letter is explaining to the "Hebrews" the superiority of the new covenant over that which many of them were still in. "Therefore, since the promise of entering His rest remains, let us fear LEST ANY OF YOU SHOULD SEEM TO COME SHORT OF IT. For the good news was preached to us as well as to them, but the word preached DID NOT BENEFIT THEM because it WAS NOT MIXED WITH FAITH in those who heard it. FOR WE WHO HAVE BELIEVED HAVE ENTERED THIS REST," (see Hebrews 4:2,3) "For whoever enters His rest will ALSO CEASE FROM HIS OWN WORKS, (Hebrews 4:10). So within the text, there is the division, between the "Hebrews" who have entered His rest by FAITH, and those who "should seem to come short of it." (see Hebrews 4:1) The dividing line among the "Hebrews" is ENTERING HIS REST, BY FAITH, as Paul spoke of the "Hebrews" who "pursuing the law of righteousness, did not attain the law of righteousness. Why not? Because they did not seek it BY FAITH, but by THE WORKS OF THE LAW." (see Romans 9:31,32, also Romans 10:3,4). The writer of "Hebrews" keeps drawing the line between the old and new, and addresses those in the new covenant "For by ONE OFFERING He has FOREVER PERFECTED those WHO ARE SANCTIFIED." and then those who were still trusting in the old covenant, "could never by the same sacrifices, which they continually offered year after year, PERFECT those who draw near." (see Hebrews 10:1). "Hebrews" probably written by Paul, the Apostle of Grace, was certainly written before the temple was destroyed and the temple sacrificial system ended, in 70 A.D. The entire letter is written contrasting the old covenant and new covenant, showing the superiority of the new, and the superiority of Yeshua's (tribe of Judah) eternal priesthood over the priesthood of the Levites in the law of Moses. Even the name Hebrew, means to "pass over," the transitioning. Just as Paul wrote to believers and addressed "Judaizers" in Galatians, "whoever of you are justified by law; you have fallen from grace." (see Galatians 5:4) so the entire context of Hebrews obviously contrasts the covenant of faith, of those who have entered His rest, of those who have been "forever perfected" and "sanctified" and those who have not ceased from their own dead works of the law, who are still under the law (see Hebrews 6:1, 4:10). But unlike other letters, where Paul addresses "To the assemblies of Galatia" or "to the Assembly of God which is in Corinth" or "To the holy and faithful brothers in Messiah who are at Colosse," There is no salutation in Hebrews, there is no "Dear Hebrews," rather the author starts right in showing how God spoke to "the fathers" through prophets, but in the last days has spoken through His Son. In fact, the author doesn't even identify himself, although Romans, Galatians and Hebrews appear to be part of Paul's grace trilogy, with all three containing Habakkuk 2:4 "the just shall live by faith." So the author is not identified and there is no greeting to any group, so by context, contrasting those who live by faith and those who are still trusting in dead works of the law, you can recognize those to whom it was addressing. "But we are not of those who draw back to destruction, but of those who HAVE FAITH to the saving of the soul." (see Hebrews 10:39). Since you are reading into the text what is not there, maybe you should change the title of the letter in your bible from "The Letter to the Hebrews" to "The Letter to the Hebrew Christians"?

There you go, saved you the trouble. That is EXACTLY what you are saying. This is what happens when people study the Bible like a textbook and become proud because of their B.A., M.A., or PhD 'tails' but forget how one actually gets discernment (Matt 13:15):
And He opened their understanding, that they might comprehend the Scriptures. - Luke 24:45
Just maybe, Satan likes to sneak in his soldiers, as former Commie lawyer turned Christian Bella Dodd explained happened in the Catholic church; I don't know but what I DO know is:
You will know them by their fruits. - Matt 7:16a
I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone DOES NOT ABIDE in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and THEY ARE BURNED. - John 15:5-6
for if God did not spare the natural branches, He WILL NOT SPARE YOU EITHER. See then the kindness and severity of God: to those who fell, severity, but to you, God’s kindness, if you continue in His kindness; for otherwise you too will be cut off. - Romans 11:21-22
Ryan Rufus is a false $$$$ preacher. His ministry and associates are $$$$ preachers. It's what ppl do when building up HUGE numbers; tickle their ears!! (2 Tim 4:3). I love the appeal to OT passages to justify tithing, too. At least someone was original (creatively clever) at VOFM and put aside Malachi 3:8-10 for 1 Kings 17:13, dragging God's prophet Elijah, the ONLY human along w/Enoch to go straight to heaven, into the pit.

  • @garethwest9069

It is ironic that the first encounter the Lord Jesus Christ has in His ministry was with Satan, where three times the evil one tried to trick Jesus by quoting Scripture out of context! Here's one example from the false preachers re OSAS false doctrine. So, as in Matt/Luke 4, Satan would quote:
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. - John 10:27-28
And the Lord Jesus Christ would quote:
Your eyes have seen what the Lord did at Baal Peor; for the Lord your God HAS DESTROYED from among you all the men who followed Baal of Peor. But you who HELD FAST TO THE LORD YOUR GOD ARE ALIVE TODAY, every one of you ... You shall fear the Lord your God; you shall serve Him, and to Him you shall hold fast, and take oaths in His name. - Deuteronomy 4:3-4,10:20
But take careful heed to do the commandment and the law which Moses the servant of the Lord commanded you, to love the Lord your God, to walk in all His ways, to keep His commandments, to HOLD FAST TO HIM, and to serve Him with all your heart and with all your soul ... but you shall HOLD FAST TO THE LORD YOUR GOD, as you have done to this day ... Or else, IF INDEED YOU DO GO BACK, and cling to the remnant of these nations-these that remain among you-and make marriages with them, and go in to them and they to you, know for certain that the Lord your God will no longer drive out these nations from before you. But they shall be snares and traps to you, and scourges on your sides and thorns in your eyes, until YOU PERISH* from this good land which the Lord your God has given you. - Joshua 23:5,8,12-13
*[Repent or perish! - Luke 13]
For this One has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, inasmuch as He who built the house has more honor than the house ... but Christ as a Son over His own house, whose house we are IF WE HOLD FAST the confidence and the rejoicing of THE HOPE FIRM TO THE END. - Hebrews 3:3,6
We are YOKED with Christ Jesus, we walk with Him; it doesn't say we hitch a ride as He drags us like a boat anchor. He holds us and WE HOLD FAST TO HIM!! Just like the wedding at Cana in John 2 is a picture of us meeting God halfway; the people had to bring something to the table if they expected God to reciprocate and tell me, how much easier is bringing water than making wine!
