thank you for this tutorial, i was able to make one for my grandma who's sick in the hospital. i only had an hour to make something simple but meaningful and this was perfect, and easy to follow along.

I could not see the butterfly until you folded it over. So simple, it's genius.
Table of contents:
1:08 - materials
1:48 - foundation chain
2:20 - Row 1: 8 granny clusters into the ring
5:16 - row 2: (color change optional) granny cluster, ch2, granny cluster in each chain space all the way around.
10:55 - row 3: 6 double crocheted in each corner chain space, 1 sc in each non-corner chain spade, all the way around.
normally its hard to follow videos, i either have to pause or fast forward but i found it really easy to match your pace and it was fun listening to you talk

My grandmother used to make these when I was a little girl. I still have 2 of them. I got a crochet hook for Christmas from my mother, and this was the first thing I wanted to make! Thanks for the tutorial! "Grammy Peg" would be proud of my first attempt!

You can put a little skewer in bottom of these and put in the soil of a potted plant 🪴 and it looks like the butterfly is landing or flying near the plant. So pretty!
Same here. I plan to use these during Pollinator Month (June) and during a local “butterfly blitz” (butterfly count) at end of July/beginning of August.

Wonderful video. I was put in charge of decorations and Center pieces for my mother in law's upcoming 75th birthday party.
On a side note, when doing the black border, I folded first. Something about the butterfly being open on the sided just bugged me.

Great tutorial! I had a couple of thoughts for these as gifts. Put a peppermint or chocolate kiss in each side of the wings as a gift. Or these can be attached to one corner of the blanket as a applique .

Hello I just made your butterfly and it is beautiful I made it instead of going around black I did teal because that was a little girl’s favorite color was teal purple and pink but I subscribe to your channel I am also a crochet channel I am not out there to get monetized or anything like that but if you would like to pop over and see the things that I make I crochet mosaic my own clothes for my dolls I do collect baby dolls but I have more crocheting on my channel than anything and my puppies in there her name is cupcake and she is a little doll thank you for the tutorial of this beautiful butterfly 🦋❤️🦋🤗🤗. My butterfly turned out pretty good. It sure looked like a flower until it morphed into a flutterby. You can make a chrysalis to stuff it into if you use thinner yarns. It’s a neat toy for a kid into bugs.
These are so adorable, and I've found them just in time to make some for my great niece who will be 6 in a couple of weeks…and she just happen to choose butterflies for her theme this year...talk about perfect timing!! Time to get hooking!! 😁👍❤️
