- jonimitchell.com Joni Mitchell performs 'Good Friends' from the album 'Dog Eat Dog', on the original studio version she duets with Michael McDonald but here British session singer Michael Mullins stands in to duet with Joni.
This is probably the only live performance where I've seen Joni hold her own microphone.
The male singer does an excellent job standing in for Michael McDonald.
Terrific beyond measure
I had hair like that when the song came out!!!
the male singer looks like Michael J. Mullins , who was lead singer of the band Modern Romance.
Yes it is. Looking a bit tubby there, I guess that's what touring the country does for you
The 80s have so much to answer for......but I still love Joni.
I love your comment, but the 80s weren't all bad for music...How about Tears For Fears, Prince, Michael Jackson, Joe Jackson, The Cars, Rush, Simply Red, U2, just to name a few?:)
that's exactly what I said. I didn't realize how cheated i was growing up in the 80s. How dare they redue this woman to this
Oh, oh, I can hear her stifled yawn while being interviewed by this guy....
What an absolute douche he was. Joni was too classy to hit him, but I was so embarrassed for him!
I remember this , it was a Friday night
Quick Ending. !!!
The comment about longevity… pretty funny after last week’s Grammy performance at age 80.
"Wogan hasn't been vaccinated - I'm pulling my music from his show!"
Not sure who has the worst hair...
Love this song - never say this version - thanks for posting.
Nobody thanked Mick! Didn't even acknowledge him! And his fabulous hair, and fabulous voice! Shame on them! And I think he had something in his eye back there.
Yes. He left the band sometime in 85. I think he could have had a very successful solo career if he had wanted to.
I was convinced for years this was all fake and he was just a male model miming MMc's vocals! I didn't have the benefit of videotape, and I was sure he was a guy I had seen in the movie Hellraiser (his voice was dubbed in that too so he was there on looks alone!) Glad to be proved wrong, and very interesting info.
The vocals are live. The rest of it is the studio recording.
