In basic no. Unless you make 15/hr and or live with your parents good luck. Common Z probs/Mods to fix Catch Can: $100 Valve Co Gaskets:$100 Diff Bushings: $200 w Tool Engine/Trans Mounts: $350 Clutch Flywheel 5-6yrs: $700 Suspension (shit ball joints/struts from factory) $600-2000 Gas Mileage: 15-25MPG w 93 Octane @ $3.60/gal. Tires: $650 Insurance: 150-300$/mo Payment if financed: 180-360/mo They are however fun to drive, crank everytime, meaning most of the issues are cosmetic or bushing/Mount related, very few electrical issues and overall are great, easy to drive and park, enough power for a daily drive without risking too much for teens that have trouble judging distance. (I.e pulling out into traffic). And tbh as long as your mirrors are set they have GREAT visibility believe it or not. If you’re working minimum wage and don’t have mechanical knowledge and or help I wouldn’t advise it. If you’re making double minimum wage and have some mechanical expertise, as well as access to tools then sure. So unless you buy a real minty Z, you’ll be replacing some parts, expect to spend 10k regardless. If you can afford either the payment or the parts while working part time, and have the time to install them yourself, or have a parent guardian to help you, then you’ll do great. If you don’t, then I would steer clear and buy something that won’t eat your money over 6 years time.
Got my Z as a first car last year daily drive it and if you take care of it you will love every last second of driving it (I have a manual enthusiast trim level)
I got the g35 2nd gen g35 for free during high school and have been using it now 2nd year of college. The previous owner barely had any problems with the car, I've had none I think it's the only car I trust that will last me until end of med school and beyond. Only problem is gas, in my area it is $4 a gallon.
Hey, nice!! Glad to hear it's treating you well. The VQ engine found in both the g35 and 350z is extremely reliable which I feel makes it a fairly good choice. Although gas can get pretty expensive lol appreciate you tuning in man🙏
The one heads up would be, be ready to spend on gas... specially if you live in cali! As my daily driver through college, I loved my z, made commuting fun (except during peak socal traffic lol) but mad... i spent a lot on gas! Now that i'm older i'm more conscious of my spending lol but still, would do it again 10/10
I’m a sophomore here with a 2004 is300 and it’s the best car ever so much aftermarket support and very reliable car if you take care of it decent gas mileage
True!! Absolutely love the is300! My friend has actually been looking for one but their getting harder and harder to find!! I appreciate you tuning in man🙌
I daily a 2004 350z in 2022 (crazy right) my grandpa bought it with 5,000 miles on it in 2019, and he barley drives it. I get Called out to race by people in my school, but I never do it. I live in a small town and word goes around fast and I’m trying to get in trouble. The z is an awesome car. It turns heads everywhere I go (not that I’m looking for the attention). My z is stock with the exception to my decent tire setup. I hit the lottery with the opportunity to have such a nice car in high school.
That is insanely low miles for a 350z!! You’re definitely living the dream of many people here in this comment section haha I would have loved to drive a 350z to high school!! Take care of her, and give your grandpa a high-five for me because that’s super awesome of him!! Appreciate you tuning in man!🙌🙏🏼

At least we're not alone my friend! While in college, I've learned just how valuable my free time is. There are so many things that we can learn with the internet, don't feel confined to the major you choose. Anything can be created in todays age! I really appreciate your comment my friend!
In Poland this wouldn't work at all. The cheapest 350Z you can get costs around 40k PLN (around 10k USD) while as a student you usually earn about 18.30 PLN (like 4.5 USD) per hour of work. Not talking about insane gas prices (about 1.5 USD per liter).
That was my first car loved it I drove from Texas to Alabama about twice a year in it no problems regular maintenance sold it last year to get the 2021 camero callaway sc630
last summer I worked 40 hour weeks in the summer as my first job at 16. I've stayed in the same job for almost an entire year and now im 17 and im getting paid more, but im going to work a lot this summer and I made a deal with my dad that im going to have a budget of 10k since ill be making more this summer quicker, and he can pay half, and I can pay half. Living in Singapore. Price of a car is extremely high unless you are a business director or owner earning in a steady income of 6-7 figures per year. Owning a car for most is a financial liability which could land in a infinite spiral of debt. Public transport are very feasible here with bus stops everywhere. Price of a used 370z GT can set you a hefty quotation of $200,000 excluding taxes while a brand new Alpine A110-S can easily set you $250,000. So most of the students do take public transportation.
Dope video bought my z barely this year and so far it’s all been cool it’s definitely helped me get more into the car science and Learn more about cars I love my car and it does me well driving plenty of miles per day
Who says you have to pick one thing? Do lots of stuff in your 20s while also investing and saving some money. It might lead you somewhere unexpected and you can find your career that way. I know a few people who just got good at a few things and it lead them to extraordinary opportunities.
My guy, Most of us don't need school for what we really want to do. Whatever you enjoy doing, you can make money from. Like literally exploring your interest and vlogging them. It's only about the money at the end. What you want to do. Is not work. Make that money to build a life where you only play. That's the goal. I didn't need a shred of school to start my business and I make more then you ever will in any field working hourly. And I dropped out of school. I move furniture and make from 300 up to 900$ a day. And this is just the beggining. School is a hard waste of time unless you really really enjoy the academic fields. All you need to know is how to monetize and get customers, or followers or whatnot.
My first car in high school was a 1994 Toyota pickup. Well I wanted real horsepower so I test drove a 350z and I gotta say it was okay. But then I got into my buddies scat pack and I never looked back. 😂
I am only 13 years old but a 350z is the car I wanna get. When I turn 17 (so I can drive by myself in my state) I'm going to buy a scrap car like a Scion XB. Super cheap and reliable. When I turn 18 I'll have more driving history and driving experience so I'll get the 350Z and have less insurance cost and also probably not total it. Wish you good luck and hope you can get the 350Z!
@@CarPitStop yeah that’s what I’m doing! I am getting a short term car (1-2 years) to learn manual since automatic is already very easy for me then I will get a longer term car but it might not me a Z. Good luck on your car journey and I hope you can get your dream car one day!
I mean, I drive my 300zx on the daily and it's the most reliable and fun car out of anyone in my friend group. So just know a 350 would do all of this but even better
You got some time man to figure it out. I'm in the same boat but actually graduated last May trying to figure it out still since I kinda messed up my original plan lol.
Hey man, I completely understand🙏🏼 I too had my plans change…seems pretty common in today’s world lol just do what you love bro and in the end, it’ll find us rather than us finding it!
The 350z in my opinion it's the best sports car for people that want to become a mechanic and make ur skills as a driver bcs most cars similar to 350z like the s2000 are expensive and the 350z it's reliable easy to work on and also i consider to buy it stock and not modified bcs most of them are really bad shape and are from people that mantain them really badly so that's my tip for the good sports car for biginners
The fact this can be considered a student's car is bonkers to me. I'm from the UK and it cost me around £2k to insure a 1.0L Corsa D, I won't be able to insure a 350Z for a reasonable amount until I finish uni when I'm 25 lmao.
It's my final year on high school and I'm working to study my university in the Netherlands, this bad boy costs mostly 11-19k Euros there might be a tough price for a student but I swore to make this car my first when I was 4 so yeah gonna have to grind hard appereantly
in india even the rich people dont buy super cars coz the ground clearance is too small for cars to be driven and there are speed brakers literally every 10 meters, so no expectations for us, hope to see a better country soon :/
Don’t get me wrong, I like the 350z. Had a friend took me for a drive. His was live rear axle conversion, 370z rear end, and he says the previous owner did afew things under the hood and drag raced it. Idk what afew things under the hood means. It’s still N/A so could be a cam, tune the ECU, throttle body, fuel injectors, idk. It ran good. But it’s not for me, I’m in the market for a 2000 c5 corvette frc. If he still had his a that would had been hella fun just to take em down to heartland park for afew quarter mile runs. Both cars manual of course.
Hey, I completely understand! The C5 is a monster haha plus many options for more power! Never had the opportunity to drive one, but it’s on my bucket list🙏🏼 appreciate you tuning in!
@@JohnnyB. no problem. Thank you for reading I didn’t expect that. I will say the frc came exclusively with the 6 speed and the z51 suspension package in 2000. Amazing foundation off the factory. And the extra rigidity will help build an absolute track monster. Definitely recommend you find one or just to try it out. You won’t regret it, been in a c5 z06 and damn it pulls. I’ll get you a sub as well.
I picked mine up for about £5k here in the UK. 117k miles and tastefully modded. If you want a low mileage one, then yes you're looking for around £9k upwards

When I get a job and get enough money I plan on getting a z for my first car( probably the later models of the 350z because it doesn't burn through oil as much as earlier models.).
Just so you know i talked to a z owner today for advice and he said shoot for the earlier models because they will have best performance they where the ones with the best engines but the downside is that they are pretty hard to find especially in manual
That oil smell is leaking valve cover gaskets. Mine got to the point I had to change them. If you do buy aluminum ones not the plastic ones that your 350 comes with.
I just got a 350z as my first car from my brother. I’m not one of those person who ever receives anything from my parents or anyone. I always wanted to buy my first car with my own money but he doesn’t have any use for the car so why won’t I take a free z😀
Not gona lie tho folks unless you put a kit on it the 350/370z looks a liiiiitle girly. I always thought atleast. Go with the g37x coupe. Get the AWD because you can switch it to RWD whenever u want. Also .. get some tint and straight pipe those mufflers. It cost me 560$ to do both of those in canada, so cheaper in the states. The muffler will be rly loud but will get quiter and sound miiint 👌

Honestly, this car is still a lot of money for a non-clapped out one as a U.S highschool student, unless you were working 6 days a week, or fortunate enough. I'm only saying a 350z is expensive for a student, so other options like a SN95 Mustang or E46 are cheaper (in my area) Even then your basically only working for a car. Imo it doesn't seem worth it to be, only if you absolutely love cars and it keeps you happy. I wanted to buy a BMW 335i coupe, but it's barely possible for me. I rather just buy a Civic for my own convenience, and I'm talking about the boring 7th gen.
I have a 370z now but I'm going to let you all know the truth about owning a 350z, a de will burn oil like crazy and they are so old now that a piston ring will probably go out soon and burn a lot more oil and lose power, I'd recommend a hr model, and even then you have to watch out for the gallery gasket issue all hr 350z have that will destroy your engine if left unfixed, the repair for that is expensive and hard to do for most shops. You will also have to replace the ball joints and valve covers no doubt because of age, keep in mind you should have a couple g$ after purchase for repairs and maintenance. Fun car that will force you to learn about cars, overall reliable car it taken care and IF OIL KEPT FULL!

They are however fun to drive, crank everytime, meaning most of the issues are cosmetic or bushing/Mount related, very few electrical issues and overall are great, easy to drive and park, enough power for a daily drive without risking too much for teens that have trouble judging distance.
Living somewhere where it has bad winters is such a vibe killer when these fire cars like the z are rear wheel😭😭🥺
Although gas can get pretty expensive lol appreciate you tuning in man🙏
Bro got it for free 💀
I’m hopefully getting a 03 350z this weekend!
Ben Dover Nice, I currently have a 03 350z 6 speed manual enthusiast model it’s awesome, you’ll fall in love with the Z
Hope it goes well!🙌

Did you get it?

I appreciate you tuning in man🙌
@@JohnnyB. yeah they are getting hard to find got an auto with 90k miles for 6k who cares if it’s an auto got a hell of a deal on it
You are a actual legend if you drive a manuel to collage/school
Appreciate you tuning in man!🙌🙏🏼
i drove a 350z daily to school for years It's a great student car if you're responsible enough to not crash /drive dangerously and also dont drift and break shit
I miss my Z such a fun car, unfortunately someone failed to yield to me and totaled it
Dang man, sorry to hear🥺 happy you’re here to tell the story though, could always get another Z🙏🏼 appreciate you tuning in my friend
me neither. going to college in a few weeks, still can’t decide what I truly want to do
At least we're not alone my friend! While in college, I've learned just how valuable my free time is. There are so many things that we can learn with the internet, don't feel confined to the major you choose. Anything can be created in todays age! I really appreciate your comment my friend!
Follow your heart kid. You’ll be fine.
Will do🙏🏼 thank you.
10k usd?! here it's over 33k
Bought a 300ZX Z31 at 9800$ by August and cost me 4000$ for repair in two months.😐
With older Japanese cars you want to learn how to work on them yourself cuz buying parts + paying a mechanic every time can get expensive real quick.
@@lilyahoo2021 yup luxury cars too. I had my 07 Lexus and Z go out at the same time. Had to pay the mechanic 1.2k for the Lexus and $700 for the Z

I can pay him the 5k over the summer and now. but im just so excited for my first car, im so excited to order parts and modify it. its such a gorgeous car and I can't wait to drive my parents and friends around in it lol
Dang man, you're in it to win it and that's all that matters. Keep it up, you'll have one someday my friend. Really appreciate your comment :)
Idk what to say I just enjoyed the video and how he presents himself as a person I liked him I’ll probably watch more vids , and the car damn I’ll buy my own
Thank you very much for the kind words🙏🏼 I really appreciate you tuning in (:
I 1000 percent feel you about school, I’m in the same situation with figuring things out too.
Dope car btw
Got a 03 manual Z silver and going back to college next year. I do want to keep this car for a LONG time, late 20’s or so until I find my next build or something
Sweet man!! It’s a great car to have a bit of fun in while in college🙏🏼 I appreciate you tuning in!
Loving these videos! I was looking to buy a 350z, and watching your videos made me want to get one even more haha. Keep it up man would be sad to see no more Z videos.
gonna literally be me next year. u just sealed the deal
Let’s gooo!!🙌
Living in Singapore. Price of a car is extremely high unless you are a business director or owner earning in a steady income of 6-7 figures per year. Owning a car for most is a financial liability which could land in a infinite spiral of debt. Public transport are very feasible here with bus stops everywhere. Price of a used 370z GT can set you a hefty quotation of $200,000 excluding taxes while a brand new Alpine A110-S can easily set you $250,000. So most of the students do take public transportation.
These videos are really helpful for me because I'm trying to find a good first car for myself.
Glad they could help!! Drop any questions you may have🙌
I'm getting this car on my 16th birthday can't wait
That’s awesome!! Great choice, be safe out there!🙌
Dope video bought my z barely this year and so far it’s all been cool it’s definitely helped me get more into the car science and Learn more about cars I love my car and it does me well driving plenty of miles per day
Who says you have to pick one thing? Do lots of stuff in your 20s while also investing and saving some money. It might lead you somewhere unexpected and you can find your career that way. I know a few people who just got good at a few things and it lead them to extraordinary opportunities.
My guy,
Most of us don't need school for what we really want to do.
Thanks man this video got my parents to buy me one
No way, that's awesome! Enjoy that thing and be safe out there! Congrats and welcome to the fam btw!! :)
My first car in high school was a 1994 Toyota pickup. Well I wanted real horsepower so I test drove a 350z and I gotta say it was okay. But then I got into my buddies scat pack and I never looked back. 😂
Short answer: yes
Long answer: hell yeah
Just got my first job today. I’m saving for a z because it’s one of my fav cars. I’m 15 rn I plan on getting it at 16 or 17.
I’m 13 and I’ve been saving for a while I’m on track to be able to get one by 17 wish me luck
I hope that you will be able to get it i wish you the best of luck 👍
I mean, I drive my 300zx on the daily and it's the most reliable and fun car out of anyone in my friend group. So just know a 350 would do all of this but even better
Thats a beautiful car you have sir
Bro i love the car videos, cruzing around and doing pulls ect when going onto the freeway ect. Enjoy your day
Thank you bro🙏🏼 glad you’re enjoying them!
wanted this car sooo bad in high school ended up getting benz in college and stuck to german but been thinkin about this car a lot lately!
I currently own a 99 Cadillac deville and am saving for a 350z and can’t wait
I am 13 years old and already know that I want to be an automotive engineer and designer and own my own car brand as well as being an entrepreneur
I just watch this video for the sound of the 350z .. 0:54 Yes here we go ! 😂
I totally understand haha can't forget the second on-ramp pull at 8:36!! Appreciate you tuning in my friend :)
Now find a 350z, nice video bro
Glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate you tuning in brotha🙏
Thats sweet! Im a 17 year old and i drive a 1996 r33 skyline
I'm a community college student in a transfer program for mechanical engineering but lotta math kinda sucks but hopefully the pay off is worth it🙏
After few months My father ganna buy me one for the college, its my last days in high school, this car has a lot of features
@@JohnnyB. funny enough my friends name was Johnny as well.
Hell yeah man love this video I just got my 08 with a few mods I am old guy but I love this car thanks for the vid
this was cool to see I live in Temecula so I use that same freeway almost everyday lol
I’m buying a 350z next summer
That dirty spot on your windshield was driving me absolutely insaneee...
cheapest z you can find here in the uk/eu is 15k usd, most of em are listed for 23k usd
I picked mine up for about £5k here in the UK. 117k miles and tastefully modded. If you want a low mileage one, then yes you're looking for around £9k upwards
in ksa we have z under 5500 usd
You can get ones for 5k

In the current market a clean one is out the price range of a student. Shiet even a clapped out hotboi Z is asking $20k+

I always wanted to buy my first car with my own money but he doesn’t have any use for the car so why won’t I take a free z😀

yeah my dad has a z and they are very fun and before while it rained he had no tcs on it so yeah def a kick back car
I got a 350z and a 370 z, enjoy the 350z more
Not gona lie tho folks unless you put a kit on it the 350/370z looks a liiiiitle girly.

Hey man, that’s awesome!! Just work towards it, find other people that do it/want to do it and you’ll be a tuner someday🙏🏼 even 1% per day adds up to 100% eventually🙌 You got this bro! Appreciate you tuning in!!
have you changed any gaskets yet? any oil leaks? please make a maintenance video etc... thanks
Ok I’ll take your advice thanks
Honestly, this car is still a lot of money for a non-clapped out one as a U.S highschool student, unless you were working 6 days a week, or fortunate enough. I'm only saying a 350z is expensive for a student, so other options like a SN95 Mustang or E46 are cheaper (in my area)
Even then your basically only working for a car. Imo it doesn't seem worth it to be, only if you absolutely love cars and it keeps you happy. I wanted to buy a BMW 335i coupe, but it's barely possible for me. I rather just buy a Civic for my own convenience, and I'm talking about the boring 7th gen.
yea yeah Good Choice For Students especially in Turkey
I have a 370z now but I'm going to let you all know the truth about owning a 350z, a de will burn oil like crazy and they are so old now that a piston ring will probably go out soon and burn a lot more oil and lose power, I'd recommend a hr model, and even then you have to watch out for the gallery gasket issue all hr 350z have that will destroy your engine if left unfixed, the repair for that is expensive and hard to do for most shops. You will also have to replace the ball joints and valve covers no doubt because of age, keep in mind you should have a couple g$ after purchase for repairs and maintenance. Fun car that will force you to learn about cars, overall reliable car it taken care and IF OIL KEPT FULL!
cheapest 350z is 55k usd here i can definitely say second hand market is bit crazy in turkey
