Wow it took me like legit 5 minutes to realise you jump clock wise like I do. Yeah they definitely take some time to adjust. I switched from Risport to Edea which was a fairly minor change but I had to get used to the slightly higher heel. And congrats on landing that double Lz.
was there any other major difference between the two brands? also what model risport have and what edea did you get? sorry for all the questions I've just been considering switching from my RF3 Pros to Ice Flys but I'm not sure if it's a good idea or not
@sophie I went from my old risport rf4 to edea chorus. By now I'm in edea piano and they're on their last legs. The major difference was the standard c width in edea, which meant my foot was comfy from the get-go. Unlike the rf4, which didn't come in different width sizes and were in fact too small for my foot width wise. I have no idea how the new risoort rf3pro sits so I cannot comment on that. However I do suggest if you go for a fitting try them both and see what feels more comfortable. Usually you can tell right away. For instance i did not feel comfy in the ice fly, whereas i felt very comfortable in Edea Concerto and Piano. A benefit is that Risport sells at a lower price point than Edea, but quality wise, they are roughly the same. Edea has a whole different way of tying and lacing the boots.
girl i’m in the same situation where i’m duing doubles on jackson freestyles my skates are done they are tireddd, ordered my new skates and so excited to see my progression increase with the lightweight on my new boots!
The Ice Flys are like wearing a strait-jacket on your feet after wearing Jackson's or any other similar boots. When they are fitted to your foot, they are comfortable, at least for a while. You have to tie them differently also. However, you can usually spot a skater who wears Edea's because they cannot do decent cross overs and the skater's movement over the ice is different and the jumps seem to be more wrapped.
I switch from Jackson Premire to Edea Chorus, Edea feel more comfortable for me 😊 And I skate with glasses too! 😁. But in my country, no one ask me about it at all. My glasses are light weight and fit me well. I’m just start intermediate level, learning some single jump and my glasses not falling of at all.
You literally look just like my friend who just started skating again a little while ago after having to quit for over a year. It’s like I’m watching her do all the things you can 😂. Also I loveeee your jumps you may be get adjusting but your jumps are so amazing and you get so much air. ♥️✨✨
We’re both also in the process of switching to Edea from Jackson. Not Piano though, cuz we mainly focus on dance and jump mostly for fun. How different does Edea feel on the ice vs Jackson? Other than weight. You should totally do more skating videos! We’d be happy to support, watch them and sub. Always looking for more skating channels to follow!
Thank you so much for the support already!!! And for me, other than weight the most noticeable difference was the shortened blade. My spins are still coming back but they are getting easier everyday!! It’s all about learning to shift your weight accordingly 😁😁
When you switched for Jackson’s to Edeas was it hard or annoying to change from tight at the ankle to loose at the ankle?? And was it easier to have it looser at your ankle???
omg but like- i got edea overtures like last week and THEY HURT SO MUCH!!! i knew it would be painful to break them in but i didnt know it would hurt this much- TwT
Has anyone else found that the first few times you wore edea boots you were being pitched forward? I switched from Harlicks and I’m not loving the feeling. 😬 I’ve heard that it’s because the heels are so different. Actually, EVERYTHING is different.
I'm about to transition from Jackson to Edea. Other than how light the boots are, is there anything I should expect from the new change? This is my first time using anything outside of Jackson stock boots so I'm quite nervous😭
@mimaskates8110 so I actually ended up switching to risport (rf3 pro model) instead of edea and I gotta say man, they can't be beat. They're so comfortable and the control you have is insane. With the thin sole, you can really feel like ice beneath you. The memory foam cuff is incredibly comfortable and you have really strong stability too while maintaining flexibility. I love them so much and I can't imagine using anything else
I'm kinda scared to use mine 😭 I just got mine yesterday after switching from Jackson Freestyles but I'm gonna have to wait until my birthday to use them cause they were so expensive, worth enough to cover my golden birthday present and future ones 🙏
How do they feel around the top of the boot (the edea ones)? I just got some and it’s my first ever pair of skates so not sure what they’re supposed to feel like. They fit perfectly but to the right and left of the top of the boots my leg moves from left to right when I move my foot right to left, like the top of the boot isn’t super tight around my leg/top ankle if that makes sense. Is this normal?
Hey I’ve been looking at these skates forever but I can never find a solid price. Would you mind sharing how much you spent on yours so I know what the ballpark for these are?
Normally figure skating boots are never coming with blades because you choose the blade at the store and they will mount the blade (should be free) some online stores are selling boots with blades together, but only for skates rated for single jumps. Blades can be really different so it’s really important for skaters to choose the blade! For me it made such a big difference, my jumps and spins got better at the first time skating with new blades I had chosen
Hi may I know for ur ednea skates do u have to go a size up size down ? How does it fit ? I use those foot ruler to measure my foot today and it looks like my foot passed the line of a size 5. And maybe 5mm to size 5.5 . I am assuming I am a 245. At least that's what my Jackson said 6 1/2 (US) that would be a 24.4cmm so may I know if u need to take up a size bigger or u just went with ur true size . Thanks a lot love ur skating ;) I am probably buying 2nd hand . As for that should I get 240 or 245. Cuz it seems like .. if someone had already used it expand it .break it in .tho my foot is still between 5 -5.5 UK .
hi,i don’t understand why do you spin to the right side and not to the left(when you do jumps)As i saw,all professional skaters do jumps to the other side.Hope,i explained clearly.I’m not criticising,i just can’t understand)
If I’m correct, I think the camera/phone might’ve been on selfie mode so it looks like she’s spinning/jumping the other direction (aka the lefty spins)! But if not, it means she’s a lefty!!! All the professional skaters that are lefty jumps/spins the other direction (to the right) as well, it’s not common to see but skaters like Jonny weir, is a lefty :)) hope that helped!
As a learning figure skater myself, all skaters have a preferred side. We are only expected to master spins and jumps rotating to one side, whether it be right or left. Hope this helps. :)
not all professional skaters do jumps rotating to the left (counterclockwise). Carolina Kostner is a noted clockwise skater! Just like me. We aren't as common, but we definitely exist. It often has to do with being left-handed, but not always.

lol i do too, left footers aren’t that common ig lol
I’m quite good with my left and right but I am right handed but I spin clockwise as well :D

I have these and can’t even jump simple jumps bcs they’re broken it’s so horrible, can’t do spins correctly too bcs of the blade 😭😭

The first month will suck, but then they are amazing. I got triple lutz when I switched
girl stopppp, makes me wanna go full send & get ice fly’s 😭🤩
Same. I’m not high enough level and broke
My mom finally agreed I need stiffer skates cause mine are breaking at the ankle but she said I have to land my axel
@@urlocalweirdo7146 uhh ice flyes is not for axel💀
@ena don't be rude💀
@@ena9479 i’ve got ice flys and i’m jumping axels!! it depends on the person 🤷♀️

Thanks for this! i will share with addie, she seems a little discouraged too. you are so cute and love it!!
Aw thank you so much!! & yes please share it with her!! I promise it gets easier. Definitely was caught off guard the first few days too💖💖
Oh wow, your Jacksons have a glitter sole! Did you do that yourself? It's beautiful. Thanks for the vid!
When you switched for Jackson’s to Edeas was it hard or annoying to change from tight at the ankle to loose at the ankle?? And was it easier to have it looser at your ankle???
im going from Jackson mystiques to edea chorus soon now and im so excited
Same I’m getting edea chorus too but my skates are Jackson elle’s
Are you sure that you didn't choose ice dance blades? They look sooo short!😂
Okay be honest we all love the little dancey dance she does at beginning
omg but like- i got edea overtures like last week and THEY HURT SO MUCH!!! i knew it would be painful to break them in but i didnt know it would hurt this much- TwT
Sameeee

I’ve heard that it’s because the heels are so different. Actually, EVERYTHING is different.
did you get used to the smaller blade quickly? and is it actually better or worse with the smaller blade after you got used to it?
A smaller blade makes it easier to spin on, and it's not too hard to get used to it.
Your camel spin is soo good😍 i bought edea skates but dont tried them now the herl is so high idk
I'm about to transition from Jackson to Edea. Other than how light the boots are, is there anything I should expect from the new change? This is my first time using anything outside of Jackson stock boots so I'm quite nervous😭

what kind of socks do you use? I love the orange!
What kind of socks do you wear mostly
These beauty Skates are so expensive in turkey 😭
How does she skate with glasses? I've skated with glasses like two times bc I forgot to put in my contacts and they constantly whipped off
I either wear a clip that secures them to my head, or I wear headbands!! 😁😁 I get asked this all the time haha!
I'm kinda scared to use mine 😭 I just got mine yesterday after switching from Jackson Freestyles but I'm gonna have to wait until my birthday to use them cause they were so expensive, worth enough to cover my golden birthday present and future ones 🙏
Thank you so much I was looking for a light Ice Skate I don't like anything heavy on my feet . p.s your good on the Ice well done
Also what rink is that? No one is there
My names Amy to
do you have any recommendations for intermediate skater?
What model Jackson’s did you have before?

My skates are entirely fit but when I lace them tighter my feet get hurt i don’t know why
You may have thick socks on that's y your feet hurt friend
Do any of you have any socks on with your skates friend and if so what kind are they
Did you ever skate in Harlicks??!!
What kind of Edea skates are these? Like motiva, overture and e.t.c?
I think they are the piano skates :)
@@makkachin9614 you are correct I have the same skates lol
Hey I’ve been looking at these skates forever but I can never find a solid price. Would you mind sharing how much you spent on yours so I know what the ballpark for these are?
How do you know what blades to get with them?
Did the blade come with the boot? Or did you have to get it mounted on?
im pretty sure you always have to buy the blade separately with edeas and high level skates in general, I could be wrong though

they are supposed to feel tight at the beginning because of the memory foam, but trying on shoes in a store is the safest option
Plastic skates work with sharp blades rally
what blades did u get
I don’t like edea skates ! Jackson boots are much more elegant on the ice !
Hi, what blades are you using with your new edea boots?
Pattern 99 !! 😁
