offside is semi automated in the champions league.. so it notifies when someone is offside fairly quickly.. The reason it took so long is because there was a potential handball incident...they had to check if it was a handball, then they had to decide if the handball was relevant to the play.. they had to check if the cross itself curved out of play.. and they had to check a potential foul.. it was a lot to consider.
6:18 if Newcastle reaches the knockouts it's gonna be really interesting to watch how players who have never played in the UCL handle the pressure of the big matches
It was an amazing night. Atmosphere was electric. I’ve seen St James’ Park ‘Gan Radge’ (local Geordie dialect) on numerous occasions and last night it was ‘Radged up’ as good as anything I’ve experienced since I went to my first game in 1985. In the space of 10 days Newcastle have blown the football world away with a couple of insane results. 8-0 at Sheffield United. Then 4-1 against PSG last night. In between there’s been an impressive win over Man City and a comfortable 2-0 victory against Burnley. It’s also worth mentioning that we’re currently missing 5 key players due to injury in Callum Wilson, Sven Botman, Joelinton, Joe Willock and Harvey Barnes. It’s amazing for Dan Burn and Sean Longstaff two local lads, Newcastle fans who were in the stands as kids. They’ve both overcome obstacles to get to where they are. 10 years ago Dan Burn was a young lad playing non league football and collecting shopping trolleys (carts) for Asda (the UK equivalent of Walmart). For them to be where they are now and score in the Champions League, for a couple of local Geordie lads to do that it was like they did it for us all, because there’s a huge relationship and connection between Newcastle as a club, and Newcastle as a city. We’re fiercely proud of both. They’re two sides of the same coin. And then young Elliot Anderson comes on and within seconds is showing the skills that have earned him the nickname ‘the Geordie Maradona’, it was just a very proud night. I do think you’re being extremely optimistic about making the final though! 😂 but if we do I’ll not be complaining (hopefully I’ll be there!). Looking forward to playing Dortmund home and away next, I’ll be at both of those games.
😂😂 Luke’s reaction was priceless, Corey I love the fact that you’re faithful that your team will make it far in the champions league but I have to agree with Luke , The champions league is the hardest football competition that any club can compete in because of so many great teams and honestly I don’t see Newcastle beating Barcelona or man city much less Bayern or Madrid but Honestly I hope Newcastle proofs me wrong!
I’m so glad you’re a Newcastle fan, it’s a fun journey to be on right now. You’ll be taken on the journey from having no silverware for decades to finally starting to become winners and it’s very exciting. I echo some of the other comments, we hope you can make it to see the team play in person
psg supporters as u might expect are all french mostly paris. internationally they dont have a lotta fans cuz historically they werent a great club until the qatari's tookover
Like I've said previously Newcastle have a real shot at getting through this group just based on their home form, St James' park is a tough place to go if you're the away team
@@rauhan_sheikh and? ... Liverpool are a very good side who did a job on the day, my point still stands, not many will go to St James' and get a result, Newcastle are generally quite good at home
@@mrmr5580 I'll give you that, but what I was trying to highlight was it's not like a fortress, yes they're good at home but they can be beaten, hard, but some good teams can do it.
@@rauhan_sheikh no im not saying theyre unbeatable, but its still a very hard place to go (correct me if im wrong but i think only Liverpool and Arsenal have won there since the start of last season) and for them to advance they need to take advantage of every bit of their home form, for the record I think theyll beat Milan and Dortmund at home
This is why I love americans fans, they say the most spectacular things no english fan would ever say. God bless you Corey, I hope the 1/20000000 shot of Newcastle getting to the final comes good.
Psg carnt press , they have too many egos and are use to battering every one in the french league because they are by far the strongest team so by the time they play any team who are good they dont have the compestive edge .
PSG gets its money from qatar's goverment. They are a state owned club. (There are uefa rules against spending money from outside sources but they play around them like chelsea)
Yeah don’t ever be confident about your team winning the champions league until the semi finals lmao😂. Coming from a Bayern fan who’s seen my team win it twice during my lifetime
Definitely don't get too ahead of yourself lol. Every other supporter of Newcastle are just happy to be on the ride, loving the life of even competing in the champions league. Expectations aren't there, don't let them spoil this journey for you
Without Messi neither Neymar PSG is a vulgar team. Mbappe believed that he's going to be the super star of his team but it's demonstrated that Messi and Neymar supported PSG and made it a competitive team, no Mbappe 🤷♂️🤷♂️
Newcastle showed PSG that football is first and foremost a *physical* sport. No matter how talented you are, if you don't put the effort in the game, you'll end up losing. It reminds me of Barcelona's elimination by Roma, who were physically dominated and suffocated all over the pitch.
This team is good dude, really has potential to be dark horses in the UCL this season, I don't think they'll win it this season but I'd be surprised if they don't make it to the quarter or semis
Sorry bro but Luke is correct ha ha, you can tell you are new to this competition, good luck Newcastle but the chances of them making the final is minimal.
Confidence, clinical finishing (less than 1 goal expected according to XG!), concentration in defence, and a little luck can do wonders. In other games, with such small possession, that would usually be a flipped scoreline. Howay the Toon!
6:18 you are truly American Football fan. This is kinda remind me to skip and Michael irvin before the kick off of NFL or the nfl morning show when they predict who will win the super bowl yet not a single ball had been played. Don't get me wrong though. This attitude enrich the football community. I kinda love the swag and spirit of American sport fan culture.
It's nice to see a new fan of football being so optimistic. Wait until you have watched a team for over 50 years like I have (Leeds Utd). Three times champions of England and one F. A. Cup and loosing finalist in one European Cup Final. All a long time ago. Oh to be so optimistic !!!
Up the Mags! Absolutely no reason we can't make it to the Semi's...maybe with the exception of Madrid, we can batter everyone at St James' Park. Then the final is at Wembley...against a non-English team? We can win it with a bit of luck in the draws.
Newcastle have already beaten Man City this season. They beat a better Barcelona side than this one last time they were in the Champions League, they just dismantled PSG with ease... Never say never. Anything can happen in football.

3/4 of the goal scorers here under previous ownership plus lascelles and Murphy too. We haven’t spent anything like what psg do
