Thanks for commenting. Phyto changed their packaging and it seems their formula. It started to burn and I had used it for years prior. Is there another you recommend?
The "It's not that strong that it will last till the end of time." comment got me. 😂 Thank you so much for this video! I will use this product when I will relax my hair in 4 months or so. ❤️
Oh wow! My local hairdresser carries this relaxer! But like you said though, this is the DC metro area. She is the owner of La Vogue Hair Studio in Alexandria, VA.
Hi!!! I’m a stylist in south Florida! And I actually carry phyto in my salon, and my distributor sells it to me as needed. If you can’t find just let me know, I’ll be happy to help
Hi Stephanie. What is the minimum amount Phyto requires you to carry in the salon? My stylist contacted the local distributor and she never followed up.
Thanks so much for Sharing I have super fine kinky hair very soft and curly hair, I saw the index 2 on google just researching it and seeing your video!! I’ll let you know where to find it specifically ❤
Hi. This was filmed years ago. I think when they changed the packaging, the formula changed also and it began to burn my scalp.Or my Ph changed. I'm not using any relaxer now. I was buying it online direct from Phyto after not being able to find at ULTA.
Urban Spinster yes I saw both on their website now- I think a few weeks ago couldn’t find it anywhere and the Index 2 was half off - so I just thought it was being discontinued lol. I’m not going to buy it though- relaxer shouldn’t be $65
Urban Spinster I like my current texturizer and it’s easy to find in stores- if I ever experience any problems then I will consider it for the future. But there are so many reviews of people who say it causes extreme dryness overtime. that’s a no-no for something so expensive
@@eyekandy3000 I haven't had that issue and been using this brand for several years now. With my styles I need something that straightens versus slightly relaxing the curl. This is the only one that hasn't burned my scalp. Even with trying "sensitive" versions of other brands. To each her own. But I definitely get what I pay for.
Actually, it’s interesting you couldn’t find this 3 years ago. 3years later, I’ve been trying to find this product and I spoke directly to someone at the company ans they said index 2 has been discontinued. This is pretty sad as this was the best relaxer for our hair, but I think the whole controversy of relaxers causing the C word has scared them? Guess God doesn’t want me to get a relaxer.🤷🏽♀️ Oddly enough there is plenty of index 1.
@@UrbanSpinster lol, yes guess God don’t want me to get a perm anymore cuz if it’s not Index 2 from Pyto, I don’t want it. I’m was ready to go back to relaxed!😭
@@apmarie815really?? Oh no, discontinued for general public or altogether even for stylists to purchase? I booked a Phyto relaxer with a cosmetologist last week and she says she has it. Do you think eventually her supply will run out of it’s completely discontinued??? If I use this one I want to make sure I can continue using it in the future
As a licensed cosmetologist this is by far the best relaxer for our hair.

I’ve heard that Nairobi Sensitive Scalp No lye relaxer is a good alternative, cheaper and easier to find.
No lye relaxers are known for creating calcium carbonate build up on the hair.
I just bought two index 2 more than half off. I pray this works on my short hair.
Precious S Got my 2 this week!
I have been using it for 9 years and love it. Its very strong so follow the directions!

I think Phyto changed the formula because it started burning me! Never had a problem before. I notice the packaging is new too.

@@UrbanSpinster I will check tomorrow and get back with you 🥰
Hi! What do you use now that Phyto discontinued their relaxers?
I use motion and I want to change is it possible?
You can change your relaxer if you’d like. It’s no problem
Can you do a semi permanent rinse after ?

Is this relaxer being discontinued? Doesn’t seem like they make Index 1 anymore.
Did you mean Index 2? Index 1 is all I could find at ULTA. Index 2 is for course (thick) hair. The Phyto website still has it $65. The sale is over.

Have you found it or another? I'm told that it's discontinued.

What?! I have let mine grow out and get it pressed if I want to wear it straight now. Most of the time I’m wearing a rod set for a curly short look.

I chatted with a representative the other day and they’ve discontinued both now. I will miss my pixie cut if I can’t find something similar 😩

Did you find a replacement
Nope. I haven't had a relaxer in over a year, almost 2.
Seems like because this would put the relaxers companies out of business so they were either paid off or knocked off.
Can you use this on regular straight or wavy hair?
Not sure. But this was filmed years ago. Phyto had a Index 1 formula for fine hair.
It’s at ulta beauty
That's who I usually buy from, mentioned in the video at 4:33. But they were sold out at each location. And typically only carry 2 boxes at a time.
@@UrbanSpinster it's currently on sale @ amazon for $45...
@@IS33U Not Index 2. Only Index 1. Thanks though.

Yeah I bought online for a while. It started burning so I stopped using it. They changed packaging. So I wonder if the formula did also.
