I remember first discovering anaerobic training as a teen. At the time I was competing in taekwondo, which has short bursts of power/activity followed by essentially active rest. I added in a couple days of anaerobic training and man, my cardio skyrocketed, my recovery between rounds was excellent and I could sustain a higher power output much longer than before.
Danny nichols did this assault bike at regionals in Dallas in 2015, he murdered it. Beat the top 1 min time which was like 61 or 63 calories in the minute, and Danny beat this in 32-35 seconds. Little foggy on exact time. The dude was absolutely done after doing it! It was nuts. Kicker.... This was all after regional team events he competed in with opex
Would watch/listen to so many more of these videos if they were boiled down to less than 30 minutes. Why is there so little editing? Did we really need to see the whole conversation including plugging in the computer? Is there a place to see a base info summary?
Now that you guys have done an Aerobic and Anaerobic podcast, can you guys do an episode on periodization and what order these should fall in within a yearly training cycle? Maybe a Aerobic, Ana, and Strength cycle. I'm not sure which should come after which. Intuitively I would think Aero, Strength, Ana, but I'd like your guy's input as well.
+Marcus Lang It'll impede your performance. You want to be relatively fresh, since performing max effort work of anything needs a personal reference to reach or exceed. It's not all about getting better, it's also about measuring the numbers that inform you.
Pleasantly surprized this was a decent episode and revealed a lot as to my own preferences... glad I didn't unsubscribe as I was inclined to thanks to its ridiculous and frankly kind of offensive title. It's disappointing to see this new direction dig into BRO-ness bc it's content calibre is so much higher than that.
I love your interviews but it would be so awesome if you guys dont interrupt the expert when he is in the midst of an explanation. Or derail him with a joke or something funny.
