Juliet, I use a similar frame bag setup. I use one of those retractable badge holders to attach my hydration hose to my front loader, so I can just pull the bite valve up to my mouth and then it snaps back into place. Works great!
Very enjoyable video! Can confirm that The Castle in Lydford is indeed a very nice pub. There's also some great wild swimming on the Lyd just a bit further up the moor from where you parked.
Lol, the last thing I’d expect when camping in a remote place would be a line of soldiers walking right past me first thing in the morning to go and stand in the bathing spot. 😂 What a fantastic trip overall!
When I'm out, it's always when I'm changing that group of people turn up, even though we could be in the middle of nowhere! I was on a deserted beach, and a whole football squad came by on a training run! When I saw the soldiers, I nearly spat my tea out in hilarity!! 😁😉
It's great when mini adventures are about quality rather than quantity, riding alone for hours or days I do quite a lot so when I can coax my daughters and son to ride along, it doesn't matter about Strava or doing big mileage, it's the time that we spend together in the moment.
That was rather fun and entertaining, it did manage to put a smile on my face, multiple times in fact, which I appreciate so very much. Rest tight the two of you, hoping Laura's migraine will vanish soon 🍀🌝
Entertaining as always! It’s nice that you’re still able to ride in a T-shirt. My wife and I are gravel riding in central British Columbia and we’re already riding in our jackets!
That looked awesome. Watching your videos has really put Devon on my cycling to-do list. And those pasties look epic! My first stop when I visit Cornwall is always a pasty shop. It’s worth the trip from Notts alone! 😋
Wow you cycled most of my closest routes from home in this one! Dartmoor is an amazing place to get lost, head into the thick of it for less than an hour and it feels like you're in another country!! Highly recommend to anyone who hasn't visited dartmoor's trails before.
Plymouth - ilfracombe - it's almost 100 miles to the dot... great pubs en route and doable in a day, but save some pasty for the push up the hill from ( I think it's ) Braunton... it's a killer
Your Rides are always very entertaining and inspiring Juliet. Great to see you have to ‘Bike Hike’ sometimes, this will give my Wife another reason to get off and push up a Hill, she will say ‘Well Juliet does’ 😜
Hi Juliet, you do make me laugh you get some great stuff sent to you to try and have some great adventures, well done for great content in your flogs 👍
Coast to coast goes to Ilfracombe. I’ve done it in a day and I am not a fast rider. Worst section is Hatherleigh to Okehampton. Love Lydford Farm Shop. The bread pudding there is awesome!
I highly recommend a food pitstop from the top of Brentor……..if you haven’t previously been there. Beautiful 360 views and a amazing spot to sit with family and cycling friends 🖖🏻
This was great 👍. Kids get bikes ride around have fun. We grow up work. Buy bikes fall back in love with riding with friends riding around drinking tasty beverages and eating good food. Awesome 😎. Mountain Bikes are the coolest bikes.
I really enjoyed seeing this nice little adventure! I haven't done any bike packing yet, but hope to soon! Sadly, no chance of friendly cows at a pub here in the U.S. : (
Great day out. You get some many presents Juliet it's like Xmas all year. Slugs are hideous I had a massive one in the house trying to get into the cars bowl. Toxic things
Thanks Julie nice pool that, jus got to my bnb In Winchester.. Start my King alfred's in the morning, can you recommend any swimming spots on the route thanks in advance x
So. When Laura isn't making morning coffee to stop you being grumpy when you get up she is rescuing you from slugs. Yep. She is a good friend. Everyone needs a Laura
What bum bag does Laura use? I’ve moved a lot of my load to the bike but still use a backpack, which I would like to lose. Have been toying with the Osprey Seral 7.
Hi the osprey seral is the one I have, I really like it, repair kit and inner tube in the hip pockets, then room for a jacket, water, snacks, mini bike lock & go pro or phone
Juliet! If your frame bag doesn't fit-- get a bigger bike! Lord knows you'r strong enough to push it up those hills. What size tires do you use on your gravel bike?
Hi Juliette. Love you films especially when you’re with Laura and your other friends, just lovely friendships. Could you recommend to an almost 20 stone middle aged man, wanting to do more cycling, a comfy saddle. The one I have starts causing me so much pain after and hour it’s almost unbearable. Any help appreciated.
It looks like she has a Brooks Cambium on her gravel bike. I’m around 16 stone and the C17 Carved saddle works great for me. So I’d try either the C17 or C19.
Hi Juliet, I was wondering. You are wearing the whoop band, would you from a "training coach, body battery, recovery"- perspective say that it is on par with an activity watch such as garmin / polar? I can't find anyone on the internet that has a definitive perspective on this. Everybody just talk about the price, and the fact is a fenix 6x cost as much as 3 years worth of subscription of whoop. Can't imagine anyone want to own the same product for longer than that anyway. Also, love your videos, as a novice it gets me off my bum to go out ride my bikes.
What a 'feel good' video. Friends out pootling about, ogling the soldiers, drinking beer and eating nice pasties... I will not mention the skinny dipping, oops I did!
I don't think I am wrong. Back I'm my mountain biking days I definitely remember being told off by a Dartmoor ranger, and he was pretty insistent that only BOATS and bridleways were on the menu. And anyway, that's a delicate ecosystem that is already under unprecedented pressure from increased visitor numbers that you're trashing under your wheels, so pardon me for saying that whether I'm right or wrong in the eyes of the law, riding on the open moor is irresponsible and you should stop doing it. There's bloody tons of places to cycle in the south west that aren't churning up irreplaceable landscape.
Ha! Found it in the bylaws pertaining to Dartmoor national park. Read em and weep: No person shall without reasonable excuse ride or drive a cycle, motor cycle, motor vehicle or any other mechanically propelled vehicle on any part of the access land where there is no right of way for that class of vehicle.
You and Laura are so lucky to have each other. Nothing better than a friend to have adventures with!
The slug in your tent and Laura helping you had me laughing out loud! love you're adventures together!
Me too, I cannot stand slugs! I would have had it out of there so fast! 😁
Have you seen the Banana Slugs we have here in the SF Bay Area?
They’re so cute! 😉😄

You are a woman after my own heart. That cold pint made my mouth water. Greetings from Alameda California, you wonderful chica!
Cats, pasty, gravel, burger, wild camping and pub. What more could you ask for. Also kudos for Laura riding though a migraine.

Laura, what a champ!
One of the best episodes I ve ever seen on your channel! Amazing!
Wow, thanks!
I love watching you with your friends...such a rad group of people! Looks so fun!
Squaddie; ‘morning’. Juliet; ‘hello!’ Brilliant. Devon C2C is great. East Yarde café worth a stop on the route☕️👍🏽

Nice one Juliet. We cycled and walked lots of that route in June. You’re so lucky to have that on your doorstep.
Juliet tour guide, certainly looks a nice route, ignoring grumble hill. Fair play to Laura that water must of been chuffing cold.
Entertaining as always! It’s nice that you’re still able to ride in a T-shirt. My wife and I are gravel riding in central British Columbia and we’re already riding in our jackets!

This is a magical biking trip, and the best life has to offer. Live on.

Laura picking up that slug ! Thats a good friend to have i reckon, lovin these rides with Laura you should do more ! Please !?X
Happily!
Thank you for making me aware of Peter Gold's routes. I'm heading to Dartmoor soon, these will be very useful
I highly recommend the Devon C2C! Ilfracombe-Plymouth. 70% traffic free. Plenty of pubs, cafes and farm shops en route too. 👍
Omg what a great ride!! So beautiful. You guys have the best trails and roads over there 👉 And pubs 😃
Coast to coast goes to Ilfracombe. I’ve done it in a day and I am not a fast rider. Worst section is Hatherleigh to Okehampton. Love Lydford Farm Shop. The bread pudding there is awesome!
The Ilfracombe to Plymouth ride is fun and definitely doable in a day. As ever; start early, go slowly, eat often ;)
Another great video! Devon Coast to Coast - Ilfracombe to Plymouth 🙂 our first ever long distance ride in 2012.
Mint ,love stuff like this ,can't beat a good bivi /ride good watch both of you 👍 xx
A great social ride out and a lovely spot for camping
Looked like great fun. Well done you two ❤
Never too early for a pint :) Looks fun!
Great Dartmoor gravel ride, thanks for sharing

That looks like a lovely little trip! Hoping to get up to some similar things once lockdown is over here in Australia!
Lovin Luara's MTB bike. The true gravel bike
Thought the boot of my Octavia Estate was bad, but you beat me on that score 😁😁😁
Hiking up there tomorrow ,high willhays I believe ,nice video 😀
Your guys slugs are SO big... we wild camped just on the edge of Helston and had a slug party all over our tent fly... none inside though...
Dr Elliot makes a lot of sense. Only bad decision was not to get a beer, isn't that what half pints are for?
I don’t think I’ve ever ordered a half pint 😂
I like the Apidura portable urinal!
It would be funny if that was It's purpose.
@@glennoc8585 It's a business opportunity!
Your car looks like mine. I call mine the “Locker Room”. Hanging a Christmas tree from the mirror doesn’t even help.
Great video, thank you.

Are you sponsored by Apidura? Going to buy a few of their bags thanks to your channel. What awesome weather you got on that ride!
I loved this. When was this filmed?? Y'all are in puffer jackets!
Great day out. You get some many presents Juliet it's like Xmas all year. Slugs are hideous I had a massive one in the house trying to get into the cars bowl. Toxic things
Whats your preference bike for a trip like that? Gravel bike or hardtail MTB?
30 troopers? A dream sequence?
This was a great ride. I live in Cornwall so please tell me the route and the eating places please? X
Where did you start and I presuming this is the Belstone Lydford route?
Laura is my favourite of Juliet's friends.
Well now I’m sad 😂
How do you know it's always morning when I watch your vids?
Thanks Julie nice pool that, jus got to my bnb In Winchester.. Start my King alfred's in the morning, can you recommend any swimming spots on the route thanks in advance x

Agreed. She is the best!

Your on a Bike packing trip . Never to early for a pint .
For some reason UA-cam had unsubscribed me from your channel. Good vid and resubscribed
Thank you!
Love from Kerala, India ❤️
I see you have a nice organised tidy car boot!

I want to visit the UK just for a pub and cake crawl, lol
With the trainees you just experience Line Of March in the most friendly way possible .
What tent are you using there?
It's by a brand called alpkit, unsure about which one it is though.
@@bethanystuart-bass4140 thank you
I think it could be the jaran 2 😁
I see Laura, I click and like automatically.
The transition style made me think she was cooking the slug.
Lovley place Juliet ..

Royal Marines??
It’s a slug migraine ride. Looks fun been out and about,
Another ace vide xx
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I was under the impression that riding off-road on Dartmoor is illegal?
You’re wrong
Do you now feel corrected Martin? 😄

@@Headin_South Martin, I bet you like wearing uniforms.
£3-30 for a cheese and onion pasty? I had no idea the Ritz Hotel was on Dartmoor.
£6 at pendennis today!
They pretty much cost the same at most of the big chains (except Greggs) but these are handmade and delicious. Worth it!
Awesome!
What a nice place to swom
I want a chip eating cat!
you should've gone skinny dipping with the soldiers there it would have made their week :)
Hmmm lovely Laura ! 🚴🚴🚴
Sorry need to add should stay at pub 😂
Not share the pool with the army then?!!! Keep Safe!
Poor Laura
two coole snails
Migraine not nice, I'm also a sufferer. 👎 she has my sympathy.
Super.....
They're not mere 'soldiers' they are Trainee ROYAL MARINES!
Who chose that route and did you know that a troop of England’s finest would be marching past? 😄
Not just England's finest, we let Jocks, Taffs, Paddys and Commonwealth in too!
😍
Ewwwww don’t touch the slug with your fingers
🤮
