Since the PowerGate is only for Lead-Acid batteries, is there a similar product available for auto-switching between a pwr supply and a LiFePO4 battery? I don't need that device to be a charger -- just need a simple and small transfer switch option. Thanks, Deb
I get the frustration as I don't think there are many all-in-one alternatives but hey some of us just need a charger or a power distribution block. I'm not even hooking this to a radio. I have some DC-powered network equipment connected to a backup battery so I just need a charger for my existing battery + psu.
So you have to keep turning you power supply up and down manually in order to get 13.8 volts at your radio when you actually want to use it. Useless product..

Epic PWRgate
Their Epic PWRGate will recharge LiFePo batteries. I use one myself.
what device do you recommend is need to be added to a solar panel as an alternate means for charging the batteries?
Use anything but this thing.

I know nothing about radio but I imagine it could come in handy during a power outage situation, maybe due to inclement weather.

I wish the DC input was on the the other side. doesn't make any sense it's on the outside.
