A decent company with a properly regulated business would seem the mistake and alter the website. But many of these companies are ex clampers that used to buy/rent small patches of land near shops and then clamp cars and extort the drivers for many hundreds of pounds to get the cars released.
Many fraud investigations had video evidence of them putting signs up AFTER people parked or where the signs were almost invisble. Clampers hiding in vehicles waiting for their prey, so within a few seconds of walking away the cars was clamped.
Video somewhere of a guy taking his suspension apart to remove the clamp and the clamper called the police, they just said he is not damaging the clamp so nothing they could do.

The company has no intention of sorting this issue out --- they make extra money and does not bother them. If they wanted to solve the 'confusion' one could be blue and the other red --- with distinctive names -- but no.

What gets me is parking charges at hospitals yep u know the ones that were built using our taxes yeah those ones you have an appointment to be tended to by the NHS yep that one. If its ours why do we have to pay to drive and park there. At minimum only visitors of someone in the hospital could pay, not if you have an appointment 😢

Yep I have worked at Derby Train Station previously, and these two hotels are pretty much directly opposite to each other, and many have been confused about this.
Even worse, is the parking between Derby Train Station (EMR, Drop-off / Taxi area), and Derby Station Hotel (Strangely I did my induction training for EMR in this place), right next to each other, and quite difficult to tell the two apart

Ive been in a similar situation. My local station has 3 carparks allwithin 20m of each other and administered by the same company, Saba Parking.
They are North carpark, South carparl and station 2 carpark. I normally.park in South as.exiting the other two is at peak times difficult.
A few weeks back i booked a ticket online at 6am for.what i thought was South carpark, as i was commuting to.the office, and didnt spot the carpark i booked was carpark 2.
So whwn i arrived on i parked in the usual carpark and about 2 weeks later recieved a PCN, which i appealed and held my hands up to the error.
    Thankfully they cancelled the PCN.

To be fair to the sender, you think you are staying in a hotel, you find the street, you look for a hotel sign, which the station car park does display on the street that goes to both car parks, then you wouldn't take a second major glance, unless in the wrong hotel. so I can understand the viewers predicument. and why they felt this was unfair, but also paying for parking, then as long as not taking the biscuit by parking in someone elses car park, then the company should drop the PCN anyway. as still a parking space on their land in near enough the same location, date, times, and probably same vehicle details. so therefore the correct fees were paid for a parking space. so glad the viewer got the PCN charge dropped.

The street photographs are not from "Open Street View", which implies a website supplying copyright free street view imagery. The imagery is from "Google Street View" with the link probably better described as meaning "Click here to open Google Street View"
I agree with customers being misled. The maps do not show the car parks. And the icon for one is clearly in a misleading location. For me these are the most significant issues, issues the company should make sure are not present when advertising the sites. Issues the company could, and must easily rectify.

I do not think that the operator set this up by accident. Most people, being tourists, will likely not appeal, or if they do, will not take it to court. Likely, a busy family will overlook such a charge entirely. I consider this to be a scam.🤦

The photo you zoom in on at @1:24 is a tad misleading, per se, as it doesn't show the full sign, which quite clearly shows it on Google Maps dated August 2023 as being "Derby Midland Hotel" (not Derby Hotel, as you state in your script). I'm sorry, but if you don't know (or at least double check) the name of the hotel (or car park) that you booked into, it's your own fault. The full sign (not shown in your video) is not in the least bit confusing.

    • @stuartgreen5879
      @stuartgreen5879 2 місяці тому

The photo isn't from Google Maps, it's directly from the website yourparkingspace. The issue is that when you book Derby Midland Hotel, in the photos, it shows the entrance to Derby Station Hotel and the only sign it includes is the one Daniel is talking about which I shared with him, the cropped Derby Hotel sign where you can't see the word Midland on it. Also, the map on your parking space shows Derby Midland Hotel on Nelson St, not opposite Derby Station Hotel.
I had booked this parking space previously as I travel to London every couple of months but the space wasn't available on the usual parking website I used. I thought I had booked Derby Station Hotel because I saw the entrance on the images and the cropped sign saying Derby Hotel. If that sign was on their website in full, then I would have realised but there is no clear signs on the Derby Midland Hotel, that show it has Derby Midland Hotel.

@@stuartgreen5879 The guy booked a parking space (and maybe a room) at the Derby Midland Hotel. He rocked up (in real life, not on any website) to a point on Midland Road where there was a choice to be made. Turn one way, there is a sign that says Derby Station Hotel. Turn the other way and there is an unambiguous sign announcing the Derby Midland Hotel, which is the actual hotel car park he booked into. I don't see the confusion. It doesn't matter what the picture on their website shows. The sign on the wall of the car park is identical to the one on his booking!

@@iangraham871 The guy he is talking about is me. I wrote to Daniel.
I booked the parking space on yourparkingspace as I was travelling to London overnight. I didn't just rock up in real life. I didn't stay at the Hotel either.
      Have you watched the video?
I wanted to book Derby Station Hotel and thought I had as the photo on the booking shows the entrance for it but the photo is incorrect, I had booked Derby Midland Hotel.
I had never heard or noticed Derby Midland Hotel and thought that the entrance was on Nelson St as it shows on the map when you book it.
In other words, when you are booking Derby Midland Hotel, there is a photo for the entrance of Derby Station Hotel. It should not be there. And the map shows Nelson St when its not there.
This is misleading and it almost cost me £100.
