Where would you go metal detecting if you could?
The private beach in Malibu. I visited there a couple times MANY years ago but I don’t know anyone who lives there anymore. I bet there are a ton of great finds buried in the sand.
I would wanna just go anywhere honestly I have never had the chance to It would be awesome to go metal detecting with you though I've been watching your videos for like 2 years now and they never disappoint.
Any one of the three rivers in Pittsburgh especially around point park.
When I was in Gold country in Northern California people were the most successful metal detecting the tailings piles from large dredges. The chances of finding nuggets and pickers are high and the chances of finding trash are greatly reduced.
They have a machine that drives up and down the beach there and cleans the trash out of the sand.
My parents used to be an authorized White’s Distributor back in the 80’s to the 2000’s, which means, I’ve spent my entire childhood metal detecting parks and beaches. lol My mom in particular has had some fabulous jewelry finds over the years! The best place to metal detect on a beach in closest to the water, if not in the water where people tend to lose their fine jewelry most. Also after a major storm is prime metal detecting because the waves erode several feet of sand uncovering things you wouldn’t normally find that have been buried for years, gold is also part of that equation. It continues to sink over time right where it was dropped. Just some tips for next time anyway. So much fun watching you have fun!
I was a Whites metal detector dealer and mining store for 18+ years my distributor was Jimmy from Whites of California I really love the hobby It's been very rewarding for me In a lot of different ways 😎
@@bobbyhoward8568 My parents loved the White’s community. I’m pretty sure they got their stock straight from Kenneth in Sweet Home. They both passed in 2016, but ironically I found a bunch of their old stock in my moms storage unit the other day. It was like finding a time capsule to be honest! Everything is brand new, almost 30 years old. Imagine how hard it is identifying it by serial #? lol
I'm looking for a Bigfoot loop for my Whites MXT metal detector do you have one
@@bobbyhoward8568 hmm, not sure, but I’ll look! I haven’t had time to go through them, I’ve a whole box full! I sold her MXT a while back so I’m sure she had extra loops for it. I’ll take a look and let you know… are you on Facebook?
No im not on Facebook but I gess I can be
Damn GTA really nailed this beach/pier!
This is so fun! Thanks Klesh! Always looking forward to your videos, especially garage sales and metal detecting
Glad you didn’t “swim out past the breakers and watch the world die”.
The Pier is a beautiful area.
Hope you had a great trip!
Santa Monica Pier might be the most touristy beach in all of SoCal, so it was worth checking out for sure. Thanks for bringing us along and I hope you had a fun trip! 🌴🌅
Thanks for taking us along, Happy Hunting! 😃
Klesh metal detecting in GTAV

some nice finds enjoyed watching 😊
When I was a kid, we lived in Santa Monica for awhile. My mother took us to Santa Monica Beach after school at the start of the summer. She would sit in a beach chair under an umbrella, and run her fingers through the sand. She always found quarters!
Nice Video. Made me miss the times I spent on the beaches in Ft Lauderdale, Florida. Lived there for about 7 years. Now living in NE Arizona. No beaches here.... 🤥
Santa Monica is a great place to visit. Now I wish I was there
incredible video, i loved it!
Great video as usual.wish I was at the beach today 🙂👍
Great video and a very nice trip for you. I really enjoyed seeing it. Never knew it existed.

@@Klesh stupid autocorrect 😂
I started treasure hunting and gold prospecting when I was a little kid if you don't dig the trash you don't get the gold metal detecting is a really fun hobby I've really been amazed at the things I find all my metal detectors have paid for themselves and then some 😎
True!
Klesh, magnet fishing looks fun too!
Magnet fishing is fun! I should really get back out there and do more magnet fishing videos haven’t done one in a few years
respect Shane for the day of clean up of the beach :)
Looks like one of my hunts good luck next time
Great video!😊
Glad you liked it!!
I used to work on hollywood beach as one of those beach attendants in Florida for Margaritaville and that Boucher brothers. Over the years we would see guys metal detecting and the best times for the heavily populated areas would be to go right after a daytime rain. During an unexpected shower, most people just get up and leave the beach right away. They shower tends to last about an hour, but after it passes, theres a time where you can walk the beach and detect. Besides that, most beaches have a thing they use to clean up the seaweed and just the beach in general. Our machine was the German machine but switched to the beach raker. Every morning they pass the beach and clean it. From the video, that beach looked spotless from the start. I’d try a more heavily populated area like out front of a hotel. Anyway, love your videos keep it up!
Thanks for the comment and of course for the tips I really appreciate it!
This is cool brother
Enjoyed that Rolex on your wrist buddy! 🤣 Cheers, #SeattleRingHunter
🤙
Really cool video, keep up the great work! Also new video idea: metal detecting amusement par???
Nice work as usual
Lil late but still....congrats on 200k!
New to your channel from the UK. Hope you have better luck next time. :)
Thanks
👑 thank you
we saw you detecting thered be better luck on the swings and rings at the old muscle beach although i lose change in the sand everywhere around there.
Don't always hit the jackpot when detecting. Thanks for showing us the reality of beach work. Great job though in getting the 'toe cutter' junk out of the sand 👍👍
I hope you stopped in and saw SJ great video bro glad your adventuring about
Hey Man! Nope didn’t see her I think she lives in San Diego a few hours south
Wow you took a quick trip to California awesome
To get away for a little bit enjoy the time you have there before your flight in a couple hours have fun metal detecting
BRENT
Yep sometimes I like to hop on a plane and go somewhere for a day or three. It's nice living nearby an international airport in the middle of the USA
I think the little ‘coin’ things with beads attached are to attach to the ends of cornrow braids as a decoration. They likely fell out when someone was swimming - or there might have been a mobile braider on the beach - you’ll often see them in Cali or Hawaii - they braid hair of tourists while you tan in the sun.
Thanks I had no idea
They kinda look like the jingly coins on a gypsy skirt too.
Must say the drill bit was the most surprising find on the beach
Yeah I wonder why it was there? 16th inch drillbit is kind of a specialty item even in my wood shop
I love your videos bro keep it up
Back in the early 1980s my very basic C-Scope TR400 and I went to Blackpool beach (UK) with a small detectorist club. I have no idea if it works everywhere or even anywhere else, but I discovered that all of the 1/2 pence, 1 pence and 2 pence coins had a sort of convenient habit.
I try to walk in straight lines when detecting, and I noticed that I was finding only 1/2 pence coins. So I moved a bit closer to the sea in increments until I found a 1 pence coin. Then I walked the same straight line, parallel to the 1/2 pence coin line, just lower down the beach, and found only 1 pence coins.
The 1/2 pence coin weighed exactly half of the 1 pence coin, which was exactly half of the 2 pence coin. So I moved twice as far towards the sea as I had done to find the 1 pence line. Sure enough, only 2 pence coins showed up.
Sadly I was unsure of the weight proportions of the higher denomination coins compared to the copper ones, or I could have just worked out where the 50 pence coins (highest UK coin denomination at the time) would be.
And I would have made the trip to buy a better detector the next day on the proceeds from a couple of miles stroll. The sea front at Blackpool isn't known as "The Golden Mile" for nothing.
Never found anything under the piers, even though they were home to many amusement arcades and literally tons of coins. One or two piers and their incumbent coin-slot emporia, have had serious fires and required major reconstruction. Much of what was on them fell onto the beach below. The clean-up must have been on a par with the one that followed the 1947 Roswell crash, as nothing at all but sand was to be found. You could probably, based on the evidence left on the beach, make the case that all of the detritus actually fell, and is still falling, up.
.
Hell buddy, i enjoy ALL your videos. Dont stop making them please, id love to buy some paydirt from you but im poor, on SSDI and cant afford much. But anyhoozer keep making these awesome videos
Nice Rolex. 👍 I've got my eye on an Omega Sea Master or possibly a Tudor.
Thanks and nice choices 👍
Fun hunt 🕵♀️ GL&HH
sitting watching your video eating ice cream and you said right out past the guard shack,I about blew ice cream across the room, being a California raised we call them life guard towers😂😂✌️ Napa California
Nothing spectacular Shane, but I like the way you make the video. Well done, mate 🤠🇩🇪👍
Santa Monica Beach is raked (or at least it used to be), guys on quads drive up and down the beach dragging big metal chain decks, with metal teeth at night, When I lived in LA, I got a job doing this, worked that for 2 yrs, in the early 2000s
One of my regular places, hit and miss. Next time your in town there is also gold prospecting within a hour and half from there. A lot of emi hit and miss under the pier there.
well all metal is good to get out
great video ;)
New sub ! Liked 🙏🙂😍😍☺️😌
I liked it
Nice 11 series Submariner! :)
Good eye 👍 yeah this is my fanciest watch, and also my most functional and best looking in my opinion. I am ex military so it’s nice to have some thing on my wrist that I know will last pretty much forever. Although I am still paranoid about accidentally scraping against a rough concrete building or some thing whenever I wear it 😂
Lad.
My name is Lee, Guitarist, from Liverpool.
Love your channel mate, so chill for a perfect Sunday.
Thanks Shane, watched a lot of your videos and think I should buy some pay-dirt and gem if you can ship to the UK?
Me and my son could do it together 😁
Lee 👍🏻💪🏻👊🏻
Hey Lee, thanks glad you enjoyed my video today 👍 yes I do ship worldwide from kleshgold.com , you can also find KLESH gold paydirt on Amazon in the UK 🇬🇧
@@Klesh watch your account this week mate, can't wait plus I'll do a little Scouse video reaction 😁😜👍🏻
NGL I pressed of the video, and came back and I thought he was in first person in GTAV lol. 0:46
NICE DAY ON THE ⛱️🏖️ BEACH. .
My son found a 20 bill in the ocean just to left of the pier when we were playing in the water in 2018! He bought a souvenir at bubba Gump on the pier. Fun times!
Nice find !
Good fun
I'd hate to step on the tweezers or the drill bit.glad you picked them up. I find a lot of jewelry in the cracks between the mall tiles.
Hi Don!! I hope things are going well for you these days.
@@ShirlBussman hi Shirl, I went to the doctor yesterday and everything is improving, he told me to cut down on mt sodium now it's low so i'm fixing to have a nice glass of pickle juice so i don't wake up with leg cramps. It is hell being old.. It is always nice to hear from you my good friend!
I have played enough Fallout games to know that it might be a good idea to save those bottlecaps.
I love this! Nukacola ftw 😄
California “Clean’in” and I’ll be safe in LA! Fun time!
They have an earthmover with big screens in it to clean the sand. A big machine.
0:34 me walking up those exact stairs but in gta
I was just there!
that subtle flex at 9:30 😂
What the Rolex? I do enjoy wearing it
@@Klesh it is a really nice watch
Hi! I discovered your channel recently, and i'm hooked! Loving the content, editing, everything! Great job! I recently moved to Spain, and got me thinking if there would be gold to be found here? Also i'm not far from a pretty touristy beach, what do you recommend for a good starter metaaldetector? I see the Equinix 800 is around 1k euro here so a little too pricey to start with. Thanks a million 🙏
Im not sure in Spain, but here in the US we have Craigslist. It's a place to buy used items. I found my first detector there (Garrett ace 250 and a pinpointer) for $200 USD> I'd buy used if I were in your situation, and don't forget a pinpointer
The plastic object with metal is a handle bar end plug from an ATV.
Popular beaches usually get raked or graded with a machine early i the morning i kow some of the beaches in FL do that it helps keep garbage from collecting they are very picky o that ad i dot blame them
if you find my Benchmade knife, please let me know!! it has Momotaro engraved on one side. I lost it there a few years back in the surf on the south side of the pier.
Good onya for disposing of the trash too matey
That’s the best part
👍
I went there about 20 years ago and I was scared to go out because of all the vampires 🤣 I was only 18 and watched the lost boys about 100 times 😂🤣
Also !! Anywhere in Seattle parks is ok !!
But watch out for the tent people!
Lots of those in Seattle I’ve noticed
I haven't finished the video but I went there about 5 years ago and if you don't find needles I would be surprised. They were all over the beach near the pier. I expect some will be buried as well.
Didn’t find any I got lucky I guess
Lets goo
They must have built a new pier since I was there in the 70s, I lived under the pier for about 6 mo. lol
Drill bit is probably used by someone to clean his brass pipe,I used to carry one in a weed tin as a youngster. 😂
Ya i have to agree with some of the comments here. If you had more time you might fine more. And try to get closer to the water.
The coin-looking things on the green thread looks like the ornaments from a shawl fringe.
Nice 🥰👍💞💞💞
hello friends, good luck hunting
The metal things attached to the green thread that u weren’t sure about- they’re off of a woman’s skirt/wrap that has a bunch of those little things hanging off of it. Think gypsy or Indian shirt vibes.
SLAY
The audacity of that lady to kick that pigeon 🙄😂
🦵🕊️😢
I’ve been there plenty of times playing GTAV.
My cousin worked for the city of santa monica and would go in the sewer to check the chemical levels and often would find rings
sidewalk prospecting before snow come?
Oh ya
I walked a 1.34 mile (2.16km) long pier a few years ago
Maybe you'll run into Robert Fergusen he is a YT'r in that area, he metal detects the beaches..
It may have come off a belly dancers scarf! Had one!
Did they build the place from GTA?
Yeah definitely
thats a bicycle bar end. so fingers dont end up inside handlebars
One of the rare outings where you didn't find a coors can.
It's never a good day until you find a coors light can or a beer cap
I disagree, that's the beginning of a bad day LOL
Fun but to short! I bet one could find a lot of fine stuff if detecting often. That beach looks gorgeous compared to the cold weather we're having here in Sweden right now. Are you allowed to detect everywhere in US? Here I think you need a permit.
Hi Emma and thanks for watching. Many places do require a permit especially in cities and parks, but I just email the Parks and Recreation Department asking for permission and print it because police do ask questions sometimes, and with a permit they leave me alone. I would love to visit Sweden to do some metal detecting if I found a place that it is legal, I am not sure the laws there.

10:44 that thing you said you didn’t know what it was kinda reminded me of a cigarette lighter car charger
