Just signed up today…being born American of Polish descent very excited in making these beautiful recipes..love to hear some Polish words as you are cooking…
Thank you for checking out my channel. Even though some recipes are time consuming, I am trying to show my kids some of the foods that I enjoyed growing up. Hopefully they appreciate it later in life :)
Dzień dobry! Watched your video after having szarlotka for the first time today. I love your recipe and demonstration. Can you advise what spiralizer blade you used for the apples?
Thank you for checking out my video. I have the Kitchen Aid spiralizer plus peel 7 piece set. It works well and is a time saver if you need to peel multiple apples
Interesting way of making it, I've always seen it being made with grated apples rather than just them being cut into small chunks. And the exact opposite for the dough, always seen it being crumbled into small chunks and then sprinkled on top rather than being grated before I suggest you to give the grated apples a try though, it gives them a nice texture, almost jammy but not too much so that they still have a bite
Thanks for checking out my video. I was also used to a different version but this is my mother-in-laws recipe and the first time she made it for me I was a fan :)
Hello Rafal! New subscriber here! I like how you started the video by immediately educating us on how prevalent szarlotka is in Polish culture. Personally I think all good desserts have fruit in them! Great cinematography, music, and production. And your enthusiastic VO is excellent too. Well done!
Greetings! Thank you for checking out my video and welcome! I appreciate the sub and your kind words. Poland likes to cook according to the seasons. I am looking forward to summer fruits and vegetables 😋
Why does your apple filling only include cinnamon and no sugar??? Made the szarlotka but the apples remained hard . I am thinking without sugar to add a little moisture and liquid those apples remain hard. Your thoughts????
Hi Sharon. Thanks for asking. Unlike apple pie, the filling is not supposed to be overly sweet and that is why I don't add sugar. The size of the apple pieces and type of apple makes a difference on how soft the apples get. If you want a softer apple filling, you can prep the apples by softening in a pot on the cooktop before baking.
I usually start with about 30 minutes. If you begin to grate the freezer dough ball and you notice that it is not grating cleanly, you can place into it in the freezer for a bit longer until it is no longer sticking to the box grater
Hi Sabina! Thank you for checking out my video. Cake flour has a lower protein content than all-purpose flour. Cake flour will give you a more consistent dough and less coarse crumbs.
Hi Bernard. It really is more waiting around than actually doing something 😊. When you make this for the first time, tbe cautious with the sugar because the apples already come with a nice sweetness. Enjoy!
Being Polish, german and American love the recipe.

AMAZING! I will have to look for them at my grocery store. Thank you for sharing
Okay, I'll be buying apples to make this. My Polish American mom never had this recipe, but she was an expert with the 2 crust pie.
Did you end up making the recipe? If yes, what did you think?
Not yet, I need to have some company in to help me enjoy it. Lately I've made holiday and birthday treats.@@RafalLovesFood

How long do you leave dough in fridge and freezer for chilling?

Is cake flour can be switched for all purpose flour? Thanks in advance

Thank you so much! I’ll keep that in mind
Looks like a lotta work, but good! I might be temped to add additional sugar to apples.....
