They would be better off with a solid 20 pt scorer who also plays adequate defense. That would be a massive upgrade over Lebron, because he actually plays ZERO defense and makes the offense stutter and totally predictable.
The thing about Lebron and with aging superstars in general is that they wont accept a lesser role than what they are used to... Lebron should have adjusted 2 or 3 seasons ago, which would have allowed the Lakers to sign someone like a Damian Lillard or Kyrie Irving to become that 2nd option behind AD. The Lakers would be better off with Lebron primarily being the 3rd option (who still has what it takes to take over games whenever he gets it going), but even as a 3rd option working off 2 other great players, he could still easily give you 17/8/8 in about 26-28min per game with great efficiency and more energy on the defensive end. As of rn the Lakers dont have a player on their roster who could be that 2nd option, so Lebron is forced to do more than what is good for him at this stage of his career 🤷♂️
