Just to put into perspective how hardcore this game is: the first boss of the game is Death himself. You refuse to accept your own death, and in so doing you make Death beg and plead for mercy before cutting him in half with his own weapon. Metal as fuck.
I love Dante's voice actor. He sounds so angry at everything, even more than Kratos sometimes. I especially like the screams, because they seem so personal and brutal. Love it.
Not friendship. Redemption. The reason he was dragged to hell is because he contributed to damnation of all those souls. Freeing those souls was his own redemption.
I like how Minos sometimes just slams his fist down in random directions sometimes to show the player that he can't actually see Dante, hence his otherwise wide sweeping attacks.
Not to be a dick, God of war 3 came out the same year, and had much better graphics, and Dante Inferno is basically a rip off of God of war to a tea, not really a head of its time. Still a fun game I can’t take anything away from that

Dante has the same charecter spirte jumping and running as Kratos, and this game is closer in Graphics wise to God of war 2 than God of war3. Which this game came out in 2010, same year as God of war 3. And no QTE are not exclusive to God of war. But they are used in the same God of war Does. Overall this is a good game, but I’ll always see it as a lesser version of the God of war games. That’s just me.

I will always have a soft spot for Dante inferno. Got this game from a charity shop for about a fiver knew nothing about it and loved every minute of it. Then after completed it looked at the reviews and everyone was saying it was just a clone of god of war. At the time I didn't know what God of war was so got the remastered first 2 on the PS3 now I have completed every god of war game and is now my fav franchise
Fun fact: Dantes Inferno was actually based off of an actual poem written back in the old days. Wish I had more for ya but if you look it up it's a very interesting read
I heard of this one way back in the day. It never really seemed like my jam but on the off chance I decided to watch this. From the surface it looks like it has quite the cinematic flare. I like how it doesn't shy away from the nudity and gratuitous violence. The voice acting seems good too. I can see why it had quite the fanbase.
You are ignorant of the fact, that this "gratuitous" violence that so much offends you, comes from the source, The Divine Comedy. do you know what it's? it's a book, muppet, by Dante Alighieri.
The gameplay is just like the older God of War games, and the story arc is very unique. If I had known about this game sooner I would’ve played it years ago
this game will forever be an underground gem. it came out my junior year during the summer and it was one of the main reasons I ended up reading the book, mind you that took 3 years to read and understand
I remember the cgi trailers for this game they were so dope! And I loved the voice of Dante every attack had meaning to it. With the technology they have now imagine what they could do.
What I love about playing the game is at certain (but what looks like random times). You have to break chains to progress into the game. Yet those are the same chains sealing luficer at the bottom level.
This was such a fun game. They even got help from one of my favorite artists, Barlowe. He helped design Cerberus and it's sooo good. Love that distinct, flowing style.

It's said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and while this game may share a lot of DNA with God of War, it carves out its own identity through the way it adapts its source material. It may take some wild liberties on the original poem, but it executes them well, and its strong art direction, solid gameplay and amazing sound work make you feel like you're battling through every wretched circle of hell right along with Dante. This game is so underappreciated; a GoW-like it may be at its core, but it's one of the best ones.
This and Dead Space were absolutely peak designed games, they squeezed out what the PS3 was truly capable of, many PS4 games were unable to reach that level. So sad that this game never got a sequel, but definitely deserves a remaster
This game was such a trip. It had that God of War-esc vibe to it and I honestly loved it despite not knowing a lot about it prior. If we ever get a remake or at least a next gen remaster, I'd buy it in a heartbeat just to reply it once more

I own the death edition, standard edition, guide book, and the 7 inch figure still in his packaging 😁 Ye im a bit of a fan lol and still hopeful that EA will continue the story on.. Oh btw EA switched the servers back on the other week for the trials of st lucia but naturally I can't comment for every platform with me being on xbox..

I see a lot of people compare him to Kratos because of their anger but that could not be further from the truth. Kratos is angry and screams like a bear tearing apart someone who just killed their cubs. Dante is closer to anger is desperation. Like a person punching an unbreakable brick wall that keeps them imprisoned till their arms break. And screams like it too. Kratos is an unstoppable force of rage and hate. Dante is an unbreakable whirlwind of pain.
Dante, a mortal, defeats a host of Godlike beings… which would sort of make sense, being armed with Death’s Scythe and a cross that projects pure holy energy, but… to GET the Scythe, he had to best Death with just a fuckin’ steel halberd. Begs the question of what the fuck HE is.
