And we also have "Logic analizers" and "Frequency analizers" which add to the confusion as to what all these tools do.
Hi, you mention at the beginning that 0dBm into a 50 ohm load is 1W? Surely 0dBm is 1mW (hence the "m" in dBm). 30dBm is 1W?

Oscilloscope is over a time domain. Spectrum Analyzer is over a frequency domain
There are also "Logic analyzers" and "Frequency analyzers" and it all starts sounding Greek to me.

The oscilloscope shows voltage in the Y axis and time in the X. The speccy shows signal strength in the Y axis and frequency in the X.
Those powers of ten will get you every time. LOL
0 dbm is 1mW, 30 dbm is one watt😊😊
