It was Bert Berns for sure. Wrote Here Comes the Night, Twist and Shout, and many others. Signed Van to a disastrous contract with Bang records that he owned. We got Brown Eyed Girl out of it though. The guy had mafia connections. Van's been writing about being F'ed over by the music industry ever since. Big Time Operators for one.
Thought it would highlight Candy Dulfer as the asshole who put her in the credits is misleading, I guess that's her in the background that I saw for a nanosecond or once or twice, but it didn't deserve giving her credit because it's misleading and disappointing, I love Candy Dulfer, she's a great saxophonist.
Candy is gifted, gracious and allows her Bands similiar Compositions utilizing everyone to provide Solos, slight personalization, yet Ready to Enjoy everyone's Talents to make it even Better!!
Nothing but love and respect for Van the Man!
I SAW VAN WITH THEM IN 1966 in Oakland, CALIFORNIA 😲 PERFECT...SHOW.. AND I SAW HIS GREAT FUTURE FOR THE BEST MUSIC EVER MADE..
I would have loved to see Them in those days. Just a raw soulful band that kicked ass.
For those who don't know I'm pretty sure he is referring to Bert Berns.

Further to my earlier comment...I should add that Nicky Scott contributes a very fluid bass groove (James Jamerson would be chuffed)...........
