To be fair though these idents are fantastic, The creativity of the the character made from the blocks of the 4 logo and the nod to Channel 4's past with Fourscore nostalgic and modern at the same time so well done a huge step up from 2015
I visited the U.K. for a couple of weeks over the Summer. I miss waking up and getting dressed with Channel 4 on in the mornings. Waking up to Cheers and Everyone loves Raymond. That's quality. And I miss the U.K. it's lush greenery and history. It was amazing. Much love from America. Y'all have a beautiful country.
I'm transfixed whenever that football in the street one comes on, at the kids' skills and bravado. So gutted I moved from a terraced house with loads of kids my age around when I was 7, first to a boring road of semis full of retired people, then at 12 on to an even more boring and isolated village!
I thought i was the only one with this specific memory, i remember when i was a bit younger hearing these in the evening especially the football one excited to go to sleep because i was excited to go swimming the next day :)
Fantastic to have Fourscore back after, what, 25 years off our screens! Although the first one is absolutely terrifying. Does David Dundas still get £1000 per week in royalties?
The ident where ‘4’ kicks the ball through the window is on the corner of Cecil Street and Cardigan Street in Wavertree Liverpool. It’s a few streets away from where Leonard Rossiter was born in Cretan Street and half a mile away from George Harrison’s childhood home in Arnold Grove, around a mile away is John Lennon’s childhood home in Newcastle Road and around the corner to that house is Penny Lane !
A massive improvement on the last set. Lovely to hear that Fourscore has made a return. The previous idents were quite boring in retrospect; these new ones are hilarious and are a breath of fresh air.
I liked the old ones with the crystals and the caves. The music was really moving. These are okay too, but are just a little too reminiscent of that robot from Interstellar.
The channel 4 Giant idents are some of my favourite, and I love them, the creativity and charm they have is amazing, I wish I could watch Channel 4 where I'm from but just because of the idents ( Also I'd get to watch shows from Britain without a dub ), sadly it's UK exclusive Cheers from Poland
I'm surprised that there has not been a new batch of these idents since the 2017 refresh. - I mean the 4 currently in use are good and all but could do with some new additions to add to the idents

I 💖 💖C4 Idents in so many ways. Such creative gems that say so much about contemporary and recent historical events in the UK. Thank you so much 💐💐
Love the one with the dog and cat howling!
The dog howled and the cat yowled
I like how the fanfare is in the guitar melody as well.
I remember those current Channel 4 idents all right. I think the wheelchair race is my favourite one.
Why the channel 4 tune so calm
It’s based on the original channel 4 theme, called “Fourscore” written by David Dundas and premiered on November 2nd 1982.
The football ident often gets cut short at 1:04.
Why? Is it for time constraints?
1:09 is Cecil Street Liverpool and 1:34 is New Brighton Wirral. I jog down there most days.
It's Cardigan Street in Wavertree cecil Street has the broken window it's a shit hole

I'm not sure about you , but I came here to this video for the calming song
It's so sweet
I wish someone uploaded the instrumental version of the song.
Glad to hear they bought 'fourscore' back in some way or another
That white cliffs one is my fave. That little wave tho
I like them! I think with some variations on the Fourscore music it would make them even fresher. :)
The football (soccer) ident was my favorite out of all 4!
Filmed in Cardigan Street, Wavertree, Liverpool...
I love the one roaring people fell of bikes car alarms went on and kids shouting and the man shouting ear defenders put on window closed

Nice use of "Fourscore" (as it hasn't been used since the '80s or '90s, I think)
So glad someone else noticed this! Really loved the way they've managed to integrate it in different ways into different idents.
