I really regret not grabbing a colt 1911 a1 100 anniversary in 2011. Now we can't get ANY new colt 1911 in CA. had to settle for RIA :( Covid shortage didn't help either.
To edit myself. Really thinking of doing this is what I meant. Never text when you're doing other things. Lol. On the bright side I have heard nothing but good things about the RIA 1911. Enjoy.
The OG Prop is just another 1911 they grabbed and put plastic Stag Grips on it!! Nothing is well shown on the show, I did change the pistol for a Tisas WWII, will be doing a Video soon!!
No, not at all!! Simple!! Do you know how to completely take the pistol apart to it's basic components?? If not, have a Gunsmith do it, do the Pickle juice and oil it afterwards, then have the Gunsmith re assemble it again.
YUP, a years worth of Pickle Juice, on a container, I left it out on the Arizona sun for about an hour, when I dipped the pistol in, the bluing went to hell in a hand basket in about 30 minutes!!!

NOT a fake Relic, because who calls a Series 80 Pistol a Relic, this is a reproduction or my vision of what the gun on the TV Show should look like , but the real prop looks like a new gun in real life, I've seen photos of it.
@@ericsissenwein3601 Yes, This is a shooter and it's NOT a Relic, this was made to look similar to a TV Show Prop, but IMHO, mine looks better than the REAL Prop!!! The REAL prop has plastic Fake Stag Grips, mine has REAL Grips and it's a REAL Colt!! The Prop is NOT a REAL Colt and the grips are FUGLY!!
Minus 100 points for NOT having your grip screws indexed. 😂 nice pistola
I never do that!! I had to do it when I did photography for SIG
That gun is gonna look even more amazing as time goes on.Really good job by the way.
Thank you sir!! I'm still looking for another set of Stag Grips!!

@@oldwarmonger8750 I need to buy some good ones, these are not bad, but I would like to get better ones
I had a blued colt govt. Model laying around with a bunch of holster wear so I just added the grips and bam...done
YESSS... That is what I wish I had, but this one was brand new in box, so, I had to Pickle Juice it!!
Beautiful!
YUP, it is, this is version 2.0. Version 3.0 is coming soon!!
I just saw Walt and Vic’s pistols The Buffalo Bills historical center museum in Cody, Wyoming. They’re both in the firearms museum in that complex.
Fantastic job. 🔫
Thanks!! Did what I thought was the right thing to do.
I had to buy a pre 1964 winchester 3030 because of that damn show
Ya, you HAD to, right? Is that what you told your significant other?? ;)
Ok this is awesome 👍. Just recently purchased a Colt 1911 classic after looking for one for over two years. Really making think of doing this.

Really nice grips authentic and custom
Very much so!! REAL Custom Made Stag Grips!!
Thank you for the video! this was exactly what I was looking for. Now I can start my own Longmire tribute pistol!
You can use any good 1911!!
I have a picture of Walt’s 1911. It doesn’t have the lanyard loop on the bottom.
Niceeeee
It is, I'm taking it to Gunsite next week!
Didn't the Longmire .45 have the older spurred hammer??

I know this is an older post but what does the pickle juice do?
Ages and removes the Bluing, making it look old and used!!
@@yrsued I never knew that. Thank you for getting back to me. Nice job on the 1911.

Would it be hard to do this to a S.A. mil spec defender series?

Is the ultra sonic cleaner a must? Is there another option?
No, you don't need an Ultrasonic cleaner, I used it because I had it!!
What kid of pickle juice do you recommend? Sweet, or Dill?
I saved it for over a year, whatever I had kicking around!!
Pickle juice?

Please, go to your Dr and get evaluated for cushings disease. Your upper back area is. A classic cushings symptom.
I think you should go back to Medical School...
Fake relics. Sad.
Better to have a “fake” relic you can shoot and enjoy than to possibly risk an actual relic. IMO 😁
