    Hi two months ago I bought a cr5 pro H and from the very beginning there are problems with the hotend clogging I tried many settings I managed to once on the original filament after printing one model again the problem and the second time for complaints to the store now the motherboard has fallen is the biggest nightmare the purchase of this printer I wrote to creality they wrote back twice but they repeated their rules as I wrote to them about the motherboard, they have not answered so far, which is a pity for this scrap

    This looks to be a very similar design to my CR-200B, which is the worst printer I've ever owned. I have a CR-6 SE, and two BIQU printers that have been great. I never got a good print from the CR-200B. I'm about ready to part it out and sell the pieces on the "e" place.
    I really wanted to like the enclosed printer, but I'm thinking it would be cheaper and more reliable to build my own enclosure around one of my other printers.
    Oh, and for the loose X/Y rods, if you can, check to see if the bearing retainers are broken, it might be like my CR-200B which had all 4, flimsy bearing retainers broken from new.

    I have the cr5 pro h, nothing but problems. Have you found any upgrades for these printers, like a better hotend

      take time to find the issues in the printer and understand its limitation/tune settings. Upgrading parts may not solve the underlying issue till you can pinpoint the issue. I have done a few modes but have not replaced the main components, I do not think changing them will significantly change the results i am getting now.

      Apparently there is a few guys in the forums that did sprite hotend. They haven't shared files yet, so I'm going to take a whack at it.

    I didn't listen to you and I wish I had.
    My biggest issue is the company not selling the special size stainless steel thermistor replacement. Even when under warranty they sent an entire hot end instead of just the thermistor...
    I'm trying to get a refund now bc I can't let a 5$ consumable part render my printer useless.

      Atleast you got something in warranty. To me they just kept delaying the claim and in the end I had to sourced the part myself.

    Hi, thanks for the review of the CR5 pro. I own this printer too and share the same sentiments as you. May I ask what slicer you use for this printer? Do you use Creality's slicer, or do you use Cura? Thanks!

    • @DoTheDiy
      @DoTheDiy  4 роки тому

      Initially, i used the Creality Cura then copied the settings to the latest Cura version. I have also ported the settings to Simplify3D but then again switched back to latest Cura as Cura offers more advance settings

      @@DoTheDiy Thanks for the quick response brother. May I know whats the custom printhead settings when creating a custom printer in Cura? Thanks! Cant seem to find any documentations regarding the CR5 Pro, so your video is a god sent.

      @@AlvanLuiz in Cura create a custom FFF Printer and then change the name to CR-5 pro and copy all the printer settings from Creality Cura

      @@DoTheDiy There is no CR-5 Pro settings in the creality slicer though. I used cr-5 settings from there, but there it still doesnt result in great print qualities unfortunately. May I know what print speed, and retraction settings you used? Really appreciate your reviews thus far. Thanks!

    Why haven't you removed the protective paper from the plexiglass sides and front? Do you not want to see what you're printing while you're printing it? Seem silly to do a review and leave that protective paper on the printer.

    • @DoTheDiy
      @DoTheDiy  3 роки тому

      I am trying to review the printer not promote the printer. Plain plexi glass attracts lot of dust and lint as it gets charged easily. Maybe in future when all mods are done will remove it. Regarding your concern about looking at the print, well I normally see it from top or by opening door. I will be installing a camera for remote monitoring in future. Regarding reviewing this printer I only did the review as there are no reviews for it anywhere. Even after 3 months I do not see a single review.

    • @jlbutler

      Plexiglass really only gets charged when you first remove the protective paper and then you can easily discharged it with a damp rag. It will stay discharged unless you rub something like a cloth against it. I have multiple printers with plexiglass and have never had issues with dust and charging of the plexiglass. But it will get supercharged when you remove the paper. But easily discharged with damp rag.

    Can we print gold jewellery with this? Like instead of that filament we insert gold wire?

    • @DoTheDiy
      @DoTheDiy  4 роки тому

      No this printer can reach max 250C and gold will require lot more. For jewellery you have different printers which help in making a cast for the casting process.
