      Depending on the position and how my bishops are able to operate, they are either my chopsticks or my scissors.

    For beginners/intermediates, usually the most important information isn't "this is what your opponent is supposed to play", but rather "this is why every other reply is bad and how you can punish it". After QD6, I immediately see the majority of my games would go KB5, as it's the most "tempting" move. It's not even about beating bad players, but knowing the goal behind each move, making these moves with knowledge of what you want to achieve, rather than autopiloting and getting lost when the opponent does something weird.

    Maybe you could use the openings played during some tournament (like the Skilling Open) and use them as an inspiration for your opening videos ? You could explain how it was played during the game in real life pointing out the that made them "special" (in any) and then go for the theory ?

      I didn't know the 'Scandinavian' but when I saw it I thought it was the 'queen centre counter'. I guess Scandinavian is the more common name for the opening.

    I wish I could "see" straight away how capturing the pawn on B2 is a poisoned position, but I'm not at that level yet :s Thanks for the instructional videos!

    • @philipsaoud244
      @philipsaoud244 3 роки тому +3

      Look at the position at 15:16. Then imagine the open b file where a rook (or two) can add to the attack. That should give you an idea of what Agadmator is referring to.

      @@philipsaoud244 In general, if you want to take a "free" pawn with a queen, you need to consider that your next move needs to be to get the queen out of there probably to a square you don't want it. So if they can attack your queen and also hit an important square behind it, then it's almost certainly a terrible idea.

      @@honourabledoctoredwinmoria3126 Indeed. And i generally think twice about the capture if my king is on te same side, because of the oprn file for the rook(s)
