      @@DagburnJohnnyGobble no true pastor covets the calling. You are either called, or you are not. I don’t think one needs to write an essay on it. I would recommend looking into what I’m saying and seeing that scripture supports it.

    I have been a pastor for over 40 years and still don’t understand “pastor burnout.” How can anyone who is doing what he believes our Father has called him to do burn out? If you are living for other people’s expectations, you may be in the wrong vocation. The only one you have to please is God.

      I agree David.. I would personally term it as pastoral stress..
      As all suffer in any aspect of life.

      I think it can happen when you have a heart to serve and fail to be balanced. Your greatest gift can sometimes become your greatest weakness. Anyone that has a heart to give May struggle with giving too much
