Denzel had one of the strongest runs of any actor during the 2000s. Man On Fire, Training Day, American Gangster, back to back to back. Fucking legend
Don’t forget John Q, Remember the Titans and Antwon Fisher
Malcolm X and Philadelphia too. he's one actor ive never seen strike out.
When did the remake of Manchurian Candidate come out?
He was the Tom Hanks of the 2000's.
I remember that period of about 8 years when everything Tom did instantly turned to gold.
As good as Denzel is on Training Day, he should've won best actor 2yrs before on "The Hurricane".
Instead the award went to...Kevin Spacey 😕
During the poker scene, if you listen very carefully to the background noise, you can actually hear Alonzo driving away in his car.
No way wow
Also earlier after the sandman hit when he's in the car you see him on the phone and you can vaguely hear him say get the bath ready

I'm still not sure how a bathtub is bulletproof.
@@dialecticalmonist3405
lol...
He was speaking in code.
@@brucemason1901
But they were about to blow a hole through their own floor.
What is their tub made of? One inch thick iron?
Training Day is one of the greatest movies I always wanted to watch. Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke performances are so good, Denzel wins Best Actor at the Academy Awards while Ethan was nominated for Best Supporting Actor. Great performances by both actors. 👏🏻🏆
denzel performance is in my top 3, i agree ethan hawke did amazing job too.but movie itself is not that good
One of my favorites too
My n....eighbour.
Watch Ethan Hawke in predestination movie ..thats another great movie with a crazy twist
@@dotaplayer6768 your tripping
I know denzel is absolutely immaculate in this film but Ethan Hawk does a great job aswel, very underappreciated. What an incredible dark drama film this is.
Still D.R.E is not Gangsta's Paradise. 🤣🤦♂️
Did you notice how white they are lol
@@undbiter65 🤣
Lol white girl stuff lol
Shit was legit cringe
I'm white as yogurt and know hip-hop better than 90% of people.
the last words of the movie are almost the same as the threat alonzo made to jake after he shot roger: "an LA police officer was killed today serving a warrant ... an LAPD spokesperson said officer harris was survived by his wife and four sons ..."
it took them a while to realize that denzel was in fact not "training" him lmao
Nah they still didn’t get it fr! I hate it for them but the Denzel was a crooked cop to begin with. Jake just got partnered up with the wrong person. I guess these females not been evolved or seen a corrupted cop before
Yes, he was
He was training him to be crooked but realizes his student was too GOOD,so he set him up to be killed.
@@greentooth3097 technically yes and no. He was training him but he was also manipulating him
They were exceptionally slow, the one on the left especially.
One of Denzel's best movies. Won an Oscar for Best Actor and Ethan Hawke was nominated for best supporting. Another one of my favorite Denzel movies is Inside Man. Would be nice to see a reaction to it since theres barely anyone who's done so.
fallen is another great movie of denzel's. hawke is great in the horror movie sinister.
I liked Man on Fire alot as well
don’t forget ‘Children of Men’
This is yet another example of a basic premise elevated by strong lead performances from Denzel Washington and Ethan Hawke, taut direction, and solid pacing.
A prequel to this film is in the works at Warner Bros. called Training Day: Day of the Riot, which will be starting in California soon.
Dark, but fantastically written and performed film.
In this case, his smoking that bowl was to set him up, but if he was undercover and was asked to smoke he can't hesitate.
Training Day Similar movie’s;
Street Kings- 2008- starring Keanu Reeves & Forest Whitaker.
Pride & Glory- 2008- starring Edward Norton & Colin Farrell
This film is a flawless piece of art
Not flawless but one of the all-time greats...
Denzel Washington
@@TheTillmanSneakerReviewboth
This is one of the greatest and realest films ever!! This movies filmed in Los Angeles, Watts, Inglewood, and Compton too. All of those cities are on the West Coast within America.
Southern California, where I call home! But those areas aren't where you want to hang out.
@Batman tell em about it lol. I'm in Cali too.
@@KHAOE1 In certain neighborhoods, if you hit a red light, you do NOT stop.
Denzel won an Oscar for this role. Also this film is loosely based on the LAPD rampart scandal in the late 90s and Alonzo’s character is loosely based on LAPD officer Rafael Perez from that scandal
Though this is a movie of fiction the Denzel Washington character is based on a real police officer of the LAPD Rampart division. Raphael Perez was a corrupt police officer for LAPD in the 1990’s en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rafael_Pérez_(police_officer)
Truth. Rampart was probably the most corrupt precinct in Cali. Had to be disbanded as a result of the dirt they shoveled.
"Just go on vacation and evacuate and come to Bulgaria and open a coffee shop and live happily ever after and raise your baby." I have to say Ellie has a good plan. Great reaction video. As a recently retired 32 year law enforcement officer in the US (mostly in drug enforcement), I would strongly recommend "The Departed" as an incredibly tension filled film on the subject of corruption (also organized crime) in law enforcement. You might also consider "The Town" about organized (and disorganized) crime in Boston. Both great films.
Probably a broad question, but it makes me wonder how Bulgaria is as a vacation spot.
A really good movie that showed the complexity between good and evil.....
And how the good side has (Good and evil) and the evil side has (evil and Good)
The constant battle between morality is always among us as humans.
'The line between good and evil runs down the middle of every human heart'
- Alexander Solzhenitsyn
Respect. I agree✌
"Blood in Blood out: Bound by Honor" is an American Underground classic. Checc it out.
definitely recommend watching END OF WATCH!!! another great cop movie!!!
Meh
It was funny seeing the first part of this reaction how badly you girls misread this movie, the characters motivations, the whole situation.
You girls were so way off the mark of what this movie was about a good chunk into the movie 😆
They kept trying to justify Denzel's characters actions because they thought he was cool
@@cesarnarro6013 They even say at the beginning about Ethan Hawke’s and Denzel Washington’s characters,
“They’re going to end up being best friends”
And the other girl replies “Yeah”.
Not quite ladies 😆
It was surprising though because usually women are more in tune with and prone to pick up on social dynamics and interactions.
Not the case here! LOL
Their english is broken af anyway, that accent is janky as hell
@@spiritscar They’re from Eastern Europe, and Bulgarian girls, especially, have a different cultural/societal outlook than what we would tend to expect from people/girls around this age in ‘the West’ when it comes to a LOT of things lol. That’s a very simple way of explaining it but I know more about the women from Russia, Ukraine & those, so-called ‘Baltic’ countries to the North/West like Estonia (which isn’t Baltic, but Finno-Ugric), Latvia, & Lithuania, and they generally react a hell of a lot differently than girls we’re more commonly familiar with in the US & Canada. It’s definitely interesting tho lol
To be fair in original test screens people really kept thinking he was good even after the set up scene. Its on the dvd commentary people were so used to Denzel playing a good guy his villain was almost surreal
Awesome movie. Nabbed Denzel the Oscar for best actor and second overall (won best supporting actor for Glory which y’all should check out. Based on a true story of the 54th regiment from Massachusetts during the American civil war. An all black regiment)
“King Kong ain’t got nothin’ on me!”
"Get wet" Smoking weed laced with PCP
Oh man! Thank you for reacting to this! One of my favorite movies and the coldest performance by the great Denzel Washington. Thank you once more, ladies.
I really love your reaction to the part when Alonzo speaks spanish with his "Wife" and his kid. "Papacito" it's like a nickname that father's use to afectionally call their children boys. Btw, i'm from El Salvador especifically and today i still don't know what kind of food Alonzo's wife served to jake Lol
Lol right she didn’t even have a Salvadoran accent
@@ProfessorCDO Right?, her character was basically a latin stereotype
Ellie, they didn’t check to see if he had the $ bc he missed the deadline. So they knew he didn’t have it. Russian hitmen are also notorious for setting deadlines with no room for negotiation. Similar to most crime families.
Denzel won an Oscar for best actor for this movie. Its the 1st time he played a villain in a film, Denzel is such a great actor he actually made me hate his character in this movie.
The director said of the character Alonzo, is he most likely started out like Jake. Wanting to make a difference, but inch by inch he did things against the law to get Justice as a narcotics cop, til eventually the evil took over him. Alonzo became a wolf in sheeps clothing.
The first time you watch this movie you feel like Hoyt. You want to like and trust Alonzo and waiver back and forth about is a good guy who is just bending rules or is he really evil. Most of the guy's hanging around outside Alonzo's apartment were real gang members that was the only way they could safely film in that hood.
"run baby run" I didn't think Tia was thinking this was a stop she was thinking this was gonna be...
Girls, you just started with the Golden genre of Movies, and started with one of the best, now there's no turning back, you must continue with Goodfellas, Casino, The Departed, Scarface, The untouchables, Black Mass, and of course the mother of all gangsters movies: the Godfather I & II, You have plenty of homework. Keep the great work
I love the part where Denzel's character said "...gimme the b!t$h" while reaching over his shoulder (without looking) for the sawed off-pump, then pumped it one time. Just, 100% gee is what that was.
Denzel won an Oscar because he did such a good job playing a bad guy. It is so far away from who he actually is as a person, they had to give him a reward for it lol
He was terrible is this movie.

by the way those neighborhoods do exist. the bloods where "alonso" lives is called the jungles. where he shoots it out with the crips is the projects of imperial courts in watts.
And those were all real life gang members. The film crew actually had to get permission from gang leaders to film in that neighborhood.

Reason I love this channel is cause you girls have reacted to many of my all time favorite movies and you have had fun with them and have enjoyed them and this one isn't a close favorite but when you have an actor like Denzel Washington star in a movie you're guaranteed to a wonderful and great performance
Denzel won the Oscar for Best Actor and the movie won the Oscar for Best Movie.
"Come to Bulgaria, open up a coffee shop" hahahahahah
Denzel gives a powerhouse performance here
“He’s testing him” as they already killed people😂
Fun facts about this movie: Smiley from Hillside 13 gang is actually an actor from New Zealand. Possibly Polynesian background but spoke pretty good Chicano accent. Dr. Dre plays corrupt narcotics officer Paul who got punched by Hoyt (Ethan Hawke) even though Dr. Dre's raps "disses" cops😂. The gang leader BONE from "The Jungle" is actor Cle Shaheed, a gang member from Athens Park Bloods who became an activist. And I'm sure y'alls know the wheelchair drug dealer BLUE is Snoop Doggy Dogg. 👌
Ladies I am delighted that you have watched and enjoyed training day. Please 🙏 watch collateral with Jamie Foxx and Tom cruise. This movie is just like watching training day and has an epic ending.
Awe bless her ❤️...she said gangster paradise 🙈🙈😄...songs called "still dre" by Dr dre
I saw this very good movie years ago, I like how it deals with the issue of corruption in my country, a lot of that with the police
I wonder how long it will take these three to realise Denzel's character is a bent cop.
They are not the sharpest tools in the box.]

I didn’t think I would like this, but I’m thoroughly entertained 😂😂😂😭
I was so happy when Denzel Washington won an Oscar for his performance in this movie
Denzel was a BEAST in this one... also a fun fact.. when his mom named him, she pronounced his name just like the word Pencil or Tinsel
Yes he’s named after his dad he’s actually spoken on it but I think it’s safe to say people will still say it the same way
LA crime culture must seem like a different world to most people lol
Can't believe... you didn't include the most famous line from the movie 😂
Denzel is so versatile. The Homies are adorable. This content should bring fresh eyes to my girls. Ellie in Gangsta Paradise is hilarious and even more endearing. My Love grows, "butt" spanking inevitable 😛🙏🍻💃
"Quit and open a coffee shop in another part of the world" loved that one 🤣
Please react to Boyz N The Hood, Poetic Justice, Higher Learning, Baby Boy, Menace II Society, Friday, Don’t Be A Menace, etc.
lol sweet ellie, so naive still thinking it's training until the very end lol
These are two insanely good actors at the absolute top of their game.
And the end of the movie she said "so thats not a training"🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The Russians hired a Bulgarian hit squad to kill Denzel’s character, at the end.
Ladies love Denzel’s look in this movie
The song at the start is called "Still Dre Day" by DR DRE ft. SNOOP and he's in the movie and you didn't even recognise him. Dr Dre is one of the narcotics cops in Denzelz team.
You can tell the movie really affected the beautiful woman in the middle at the end. I guarantee you this just became one of her favorite denzel movies💯
Aaahhhh! One of my favourite movies ever! Thank you!
"Fallen" is pretty good too. No need to compare it with this one though.
"They'll be best friends"
Ohhhhhhhh boy
Always love the entrance to the vato loco's house the song playing in background (by Cypress Hill the song called Rock superstar) . Great content thanks
"Maybe was an test, he didnt know if it was an test" bro they dont kill people and smoke real drugs on tests 😂😂😂
Roger like the seeds🤣🤣
There is a funny movie" The Great Race" 1965 film, about a car race from New York to Paris, the long way😅😅 It has a Good guy ( in white), the Villain (in black) and Leading Lady ( Damsel in destress??) fist fights, food fights, sword fights, cowboys and Indians. Women's Lib all at the turn of the century.
Ethan Hawke really is a great actor. “Tape” by Richard Linklater might be my favorite performance of his
alright. that was cool. i saw it upon release. awesome acting. had a wicked cool story line. kinda kept one guessing all the way down the line. thank you guys for this reaction. as always it is done so well. each of you are funny and to see you all together is nice to see all the smiles and hear the laughter. cute. ok,, then, be seeing ya on the next. waiting with baited breathe. shoutout from the States. stay safe. take it easy. be seeing you on the next. later, ladies.

Denzel's character Alonzo Harris is loosely based on LAPD rogue cop Rafael Perez, who quite possibly assassinated rap legend Biggie Smalls (The Notorious B.I.G.).
King kong ain't got shit on me (Alonzo Harris). What an Oscar performance from Denzel.
Funny thing,Tom Cruise saw this movie and then wanted and did do a villian type of movie and that movie was Collateral.
