Isthmus Peak Track | Wanaka, New Zealand

- Isthmus Peak Track is located just outside Lake Hawea, a short 30min drive from Wanaka, New Zealand. It is a steep, 16km return track that passes through farmland into Matatiaho Conservation Land. While not as popular as the nearby Roys Peak, it is also not quite as steep or crowded, yet still visually stunning and with more varied terrain. After a few steep scrambles at the start of the trail you are treated to sweeping view of Lake Hawea and surrounds throughout the switchback climb. Upon reaching the first peak there is a 1.5km rolling traverse to the summit where you can view Lake Wanaka.

Nailed it again! Great walk....beautifully shot-another one for the list when we get back to NZ. Thanks again for sharing.
Sounds like NZ borders will be opening soon, so hopefully you won't have to wait too long!

Thanks for watching Nicole!
My wife and me missed NZ very much due to the closed international border. Seeing both of you hiking the nature side really brought us back our memories when we walked at the country side.
Thank you for your kind words! 🙏
Sounds like the international borders will be opening soon, so hopefully you get the opportunity to return!
What a beautiful place! Thanks for sharing these wonderful nature moments!

I have a dream to visit NZ someday.
@zaynalsikder9213 we hope that dream comes true for you someday 🙏
That was a great video. Wonderful music without drowning out the breeze, wildlife sounds, or your voices. I've enjoyed each of your videos, but something about this one moves it toward the top for me.......for what that's worth. Very well done. Thanks again.
Thanks John, it had been a long time since I watched this video and it is pretty relaxing! This was one of our "silent" hiking videos where we didn't talk to the camera at all. Maybe we should do some more like that 🤔
@Chris and Danya I hope my comment didn't come across derogatory to any of your vids in any way. If so, please accept my apology. This video was different than many of the others I've seen simply in it's style. I haven't watched your videos in chronological order, but the progression I've seen is amazing. Either you're a natural when it comes to production, you're incredibly experienced, or both. They all have a flow and feel/rhythm that, for lack of a better phrase, feels right. I think the narration is spot on. What you offer is helpful and pertinent, but not too much to distract from the beautiful locations or the background audio. I like having information about the tracks, especially as someone who will be on some of them soon. You two appear to interact effortlessly and compliment each other. I wouldn't change anything about how you produce these videos. Your progression/style/instinct serves you well. I haven't seen one of your vids that was less than fantastic. This one simply had a new (for me) feel about it. I don't have any of the talent that you do, so am limited to being able to tell you what works from my vantage point getting to view them. To that end, I would say keep doing what you're doing, however you see fit. It works. Rambled on a bit there. Thanks again.
No need to apologise at all John, we really appreciate you taking the time to comment and share your thoughts 😊 We're always trying to refine our videos in a way that does justice to the trail for viewers and still fits with what we enjoy, so sometimes try different things. Glad you got something out of both styles, the feedback is helpful. Thank you again for your support, and we'll keep working hard to produce videos!
Breathtaking 7minutes.💙
Great views, beautiful weather, just very windy! 😊
What month did you do this?
I believe we did this in November 2021. I remember it closed for the lambing season the day after we hiked it
So beautiful place, I hope you will make more videos in the future, Thanks for your sharing.
We'll definitely be making more videos! Got lots already filmed, just need the time to edit them 😅
Thanks for watching 🙏
Calm, peace and enjoyable video! 👍👍👍
Thank you Ming 🙏❤️
