My resound aids r only 1yr.old.i can go all day and they are fine, but then they go crazy, make the sound like they are trying to pair and get quiet, for about 5 seconds and come back on.i sent them back to Colorado, 1 month later I got them back, put them on and the same thing happened in the first 5 min.!!Please help!
Unfortunately that is a new one for us! Do the aids have the latest firmware update? Are they both doing the same thing, or is it only one aid? This is very odd and I wish I had an answer for you. After talking with your hearing care provider to learn what Resound addressed while they were being repaired, if you still don't have answers, you may want to contact the Resound Consumer line directly. You are right; the aids should not be doing anything like what you are describing.
Hi - we'd be happy to do a video on that! What questions do you have and what would you like to learn? We want to incorporate what you're looking for. Thank you for reaching out!
Good evening, In viewing your message, I wanted to clarify what type of inserts you were sent. If they were filters or domes, it should be in this video, but if it is something different, can try to help.
Hi. I am on a trial of the Resound one. Is the dome made of silicone? After 10 days, I have an inflammatory reaction in one ear. I had a similar reaction to the silicone used to make ear impressions for an “in the canal” model . If so, is there a latex-free dome at all? Many thanks.
Hi there! The dome is made of a hypoallergenic silicone material, however, like you, I have had some patients have an irritation to hearing aid domes in the past. While it hasn't been to the new domes used on the Resound Ones, the material itself was similar. If you are new to hearing aids and you are noticing that there is an irritation that is itching, it could just be the initial first few days and you are getting adjusted to it. But if you've had them a while and are wearing them consistently each day, then the itching should have subsided by now. In some cases I have also seen that ear canals can be dry, but it's not bothersome until we place a dome in the canal for an extended period of time. In these cases, we've used a variety of ointments and natural oils, based on needs and cases. For any ointments/oil applications, applying at night is always best so that it gets into the ear canal. If applied in the morning, it's more likely to get stuck in the dome and filter of the aid, causing an occlusion or blockage for the sound. If it is a true allergic reaction (and not due to the initial adjustment period or dry, itchy ears), then a custom acrylic earmold is typically the next best choice, with a vent that is appropriate for the hearing loss. All of this being said, it is always best to consult with an audiologist and have an in-person visit to discuss specifics that pertain to your needs to determine the best route going forward. If there is fluid, drainage, or pain present from inflammation, a physician visit may also be recommended. I know this turned into a longer post, but we wanted to cover as much as we could. I hope this was helpful. For help in the Houston or Lake Jackson areas, our offices are happy to assist as well. Take care! -Dr. Austin
Hi Ruth, if you have changed the domes and filters, we typically recommend checking the battery first (try a battery pill from a different pack incase the pack is bad). Then, if no improvement, it could be the speaker or an internal component of the aid, and both of those will need to be assessed in the office. If you are in the Houston or Lake Jackson area, we'd be happy to help!
Good evening, if your hearing aid has recently started ringing and was not doing so before, it could be two things. First, and most commonly, ear wax has accumulated in the ear canal and is causing sound to bounce back out of the canal, getting reamplified by the microphones, resulting in a feedback loop. Even a small amount of wax could be the culprit. The second most common reason is that the dome on the end of the aid is inverted or not on correctly, allowing sound to leak out of the canal, resulting in that same feedback loop. If the aid started ringing or feedbacking bay suddenly or recently, either of these are likely to be the issue. Other culprits could also be that the programming of the aid needs to be adjusted, or the dome or mold needs to have a better seal. Since there could be a couple of different factors, I would visit your audiologist and see what the issue is. With today's modern hearing devices, audible feedback should not be occurring with routine, day to day activities. The only time we expect feedback is if we place our hand flat on the ear, changing the ear canal shape, allowing that sound to escape and resulting in the feedback loop. If you are near our Houston or Lake Jackson offices, please give our offices a call for a visit. We would be happy to help. Take care! -Dr. Austin

white string how do it go on?
Depending on your device, they can go on a few different ways. But typically the more recent models are a friction fit that slip on and off.
Why does everyone show this type hearing aid? Mine is a half shell so none of these help me
This is the most common type or style of hearing device. However, changing the filter should be the same process.
