Thank you for posting this wonderful sermon, Steve...interesting to hear your connection in all of it, as well ;) Learn something new every day, and I certainly learned quite a bit here about both saints (including how St. John Neumann was my height, hahaha). Continued prayers for all of our clergy throughout the world! If only they all had the faithfulness, perseverance, and dedication of these saints. God bless!
Wonderful sermon, but don't forget, Saint John Neumann also served as pastor of St. Philomana Church in the Strip District of Pittsburgh, PA. We are also awaiting the canonization of Blessed Francis Xavier Seelos who served as his curate. Although his parish church was demolished in 1925, Olde St. Patrick Church on 17th [est. 1808] has taken over the responsibilities of devotions to these saints who walked the Strip.

St John Neumann was the 4th bishop of Philadelphia. The 40 Hours Devotion & parochial school system largely came to be through his efforts. He also founded Beneficial Bank in Philly with whom I finished my last auto loan. His body is exposed under the crypt altar at the Redemptorist church of St Peter at 5th St. & Girard Ave. Fr you gotta give props to St Katherine Drexel of Philly if you're gonna mention female American saints. She gave up millions to serve God. Her family's mansions were 👌 so amazing. Steve got doxed.😂
