Layered Ice Making Methods & How Long Before it Freezes?

The most common mistake for new ice makers is using too much water. After 25 years, I've learned less water = more ice (AKA available skating days for your customers). Layers versus flooding with deep puddles is the secret to success.
This video will explain two ideal layering methods to build solid ice. It also includes a chart which identifies approximate freeaing time (in minutes) for a "moderate layer" of new "cold" water. Remember to shovel your surface thoroughly for the smoothest ice.
