Love to watch Johnny being a pesky, inquisitive little brother while Scott's getting ready for his ride with Julie. Just like in the first episode, snooping around Scott's clothes, etc. We know that Scott really enjoyed having Johnny around. Each episode shows their growing bond in little ways - such wonderful character development.
Great episode.....found out what happened to Scott's mother...in an earlier episode Therese's mother came back for her....wish there was en episode explaining what happened to Johnny's mother.
Except that in another episode, Murdoch had sent Scott's mother back to Boston with the ranch foreman as escort! Watching the series as a whole shows up how poor the writing was sometimes.
This was such a good episode. Acting herewas top notch. George Macready. I believe was in my favorite movie Gilda. Johnny was quite upset when he thought Scott was leaving. I wish they produced a 3rd season. I think the writing would have gotten better
Loved Johnny telling Scott, "you're elegant, breathtaking & you look pretty."... & he plays with Scott's tie and flashes his always manicured hands & dazzling smile !! (Wearing that fancy ring on his left hand )
I LOVED THIS EPISODE, BECAUSE IT DEALS WITH HOW MURDOCH LANCER'S PAST WITH HIS OLDEST SON CATCES UP WITH HIM. SCOTT WAS RAISED IN BOSTON, BY HIS MOTHER'S FATHER FOR (24) YEARS OF HIS LIFE. SO FAR ALL OF HIS EFFORTS TO GET SCOTT BACK TO BOSTON SO FAR HAVE FAIL. SO HE STOOPS TO DIRTY TATICS. TO ME THIS EPISODE SHOWED HOW MURDOCH STRUGGLE TO ATONE FOR THE PAST BY LEAVING HIS SON, AND NOT RAISING HIM HIS SELF. THE PAST SHOWS HOW MURDOCH MET HIS (5) YEAR SON & HOW HIS SON MET HIM BUT NOT REALIZING THE MAN HE CALLED SIR, & WAS GLAD TO MEET WAS HIS FATHER. HERE HARLAN MANIPULATED FATHER & SON BACK THEN. EVEN MURDOCH FELT HE WAS DOING THE RIGHT THING TO TAKE HIS SON WITH HIM, BUT LET HARLAN BACK HIM INTO A CORNER. WITH HIS FORMER FIANCEE HELPING HIS GRANDFATHER, SCOTT FEELS THE BRUNT OF HIS FATHER SO CALL UNFEELING NEGLECT. STILL USING UNDER_HANDED TATICS, SCOTT IS LED TO BELIEVED THAT GOING BACK TO BOSTON, WITH GRANDFATHER IS THE BEST THING. EVERYONE FEELS THE BRUNT OF SCOTT'S DECISION. ESPIECALLY HIS, (AS HARLAN CALLS JOHNNY HIS HALF_BREED BROTHER). HE EVEN ACCUSES MURDOCH OF NOT FIGHTING HARDER TO KEEP SCOTT THERE WITH THEM. TO KEEP THE BROTHER THAT HE HAS GROWN TO LOVE & CARE FOR, JOHNNY ALONG WITH HIS FATHER SEEKS & LEARN THE TRUTH ABOUT WHAT HARLAN DID TO GET SCOTT AWAY. IN THE LONG RUN SO DID SCOTT.(NOTE) I THINK THAT THE STORY OF THE LEGACY SHOULD HAVE A SQUEL AS FOR THE STORY OF MURDOCH'S LIFE WITH JOHNNY'S MOTHER, & AS TO WHY SHE LEFT, & TOOK JOHNNY. IT SURE ANSWER AMANY QUESTIONS. THANK YOU FOR READING MY COMMENTS IN ADVANCE. A DEVOTED & LOVING LANCER FAN🎥💝
I laughed about the introduction scene. Johnny unfolded his considerable charm uninhibited with handkiss, unresistable smile and burning eyes. I would say Julie fell under his spell head over heels. She didn't draw back her hand and smiled and looked more on him than on Scott. I suppose Harlan could see it too. He informed Johnny very quickly about Scott' and Julie's former love and engagement to get him to respect his brothers rights, before Julie could change sides with flying flags.....what would have brought damage to his own targets. What a slimy, old schemer!
We got to see a little of the younger brother brat in Johnny in this episode which was cute, his calling Scott's appearance pretty for example, I also liked when he'd fallen asleep on the footstool while playing chess. ALSO HOW HE FORGIVES murdoch for not finding him as a child, "one stray boy."It bummed me when Murdoch didn't slap the old man down for callinv Johnny a halfbreed, he should have said, my son is half Mexican, not Indian. Since at the time only Indians qere called halfbreeds.
Hi barbarawhite I bought a little, rather silly childrens book published 1970 by Twentieth Century Fox Television about Johnny's history. It says that Johnny's stepfather met Maria, fell in love with her and tried to lure her away from Lancer. She wouldn't go with him. He then kidnapped her little baby boy to get his hand on her. She went with him because of Johnny. Murdoch thought she went on her own free will and didn't follow her. A few years later Maria died. Before she did so she told Johnny that she would have been killed by a man. Child that he was, Johnny thought it must have been Murdoch Lancer, but his mother was talking about his stepfather. He built up his wall of hate against Murdoch. After his mothers death his stepfather wasn't any longer much interested in the boy and so he grew up neglected and in bad company. So far the boook's story.
Porque raios, a mulher não respondeu o cumpfimento tão amável de Johnny!? Apenaa sorriu...ficou muda.Deve ser o efeito do beijo em sua mâo kkk...tirou -lhe o fôlego. haha....

Scott's story is the most compelling element of Lancer. The writers missed a great opportunity when they failed to give it the attention it deserved

Wayne Maunder would not have come back for a third season.
@@josephmacisaac3346 Why?
He did not like the lack of storyline for his character nor the silly additions to the show.
unfortunately started too late the Western trend was over. copied The Big Valley in many ways.

Thank you So much!
Harlan-a man you love to hate.
So very true!
Yep I hated Harlan!!
@@debrarick9617 Yeah, who didn't? If there was some strange person who didn't there must be something wrong with them.
You can imagine Scott inherited his deep, gravelly voice from Harlan. It's the one thing that's a bit of a turnoff for me when it comes to Scott.
@@sharonkrikorian5609 I loved Scott's voice. To me he sounds nothing like his grandfather.
same cafe as used in Big Valley
