    Depression was the root cause of my carb addiction, and, in return, being a carb addict made me further depressed. At my heaviest, my BMI was 55, and, of course, I developed T2D.
    Happy to report that by following LCHF and time restricted eating, my BMI is now 26, and A1c is 4.6.

    Thanks for you sharing.
    I lost a lot of weight on Keto over 60 pounds. Then I slipped back to the SAD Standard American Diet. Now I am on the carnivore diet clawing back my health. With the current situations of the stupid plandemic pandemic and the high costs of food by stupid incompetent politicians and bureaucrats. The carnivore is awesome and using the right medicine of good healthy dietary fats and protein is not only healthy but economical too.
    I am glad that you are helping people turn their lives around.
    Getting back to the real health foods will guide me to make the lifelong change in my life.
    I have also found intermittent fasting a awesome tool to give my organs some rest and know just when I need something beneficial.
    Thanks again.

    I wish I could find someone in this area that had your attitude. If the providers in this area had been willing to listen a little bit and not just run off a list of one size fits all recommendations that I now know came from the drug and cereal companies through the ADA I might have felt like I was on my own when I was diagnosed T2D. What I ran into was a nutritionist that was shocked when i told her i was cutting out the carbs and told me NOT to cut out all the carbs I was doing because I would get discouraged. the diabetic nurse told me I need to walk more ignoring me when I tried to tell her I was then doing outside physical work and generally spent several hours a day walking, more often than not carrying pushing or dragging something heavy. My Doctor then told me that the reason he did not recommend people go low carb was because he did not want someones 70 year old gramma on insulin to go hypo. Ignoring the fact that i was not 70 years old and not on insulin when I was diagnosed.

    I suppose carb addiction is a thing seeing people say so, but I don't really have any cravings. I ate carbs all my life because no-one ever told me not to. When it came to dieting, the main thing that concerned me was feeling hungry, that made me anxious. So going low-carb has not been distressing, it's just been a bit of a puzzle to work out what to eat, how to get it and how to prepare it. So I feel lucky I haven't had a huge amount of baggage to deal with so far. On the other hand, any sort of a long fast would be very challenging for me to contemplate.

    Love to finally find a dietician who has broken out of the brainwashing the sugar industry has bought, and I'm intrigued by the addiction model as I was carnivore but have such a hard time staying away from processed "keto" foods that have cleverly disguised themselves as low carb but in reality end up being just as addictive and my whole foods are left at the store in exchange for processed junk food that don the "keto" label whether truly keto or not.

      Those are withdrawal symptoms. And if you trying to fast and aren’t taking electrolytes/supplements you’re going to feel like absolute shit until you adapt to using your body fat. You’re transforming to using fat instead of carbs for fuel which is far more sustainable than carbs and won’t cause health issues.

    • @kinseylise8595
      @kinseylise8595 Рік тому +3

      At first, yeah. "Keto flu" affects many people when they first switch over (I have it rough every time I mess up and have to get back into it). It goes away after 2-5 days depending on the person (and you'll feel better if you take electrolytes). Even medications you're supposed to try for at least two weeks before deciding if they do anything, so I'd give keto a bit more of a fair shake.

    • @twwtb
      @twwtb Рік тому +2

      Spoken like a true addict. If you want to try low carb/keto/carnivore, it takes patience. The transition takes some time and you may feel foggy until your body adapts to using fat to fuel itself. After that, you blood glucose levels will be more stable and you generally won't ever have that "pit in the stomach" hunger. When you run out of dietary fat, your body easily switches to stored fat.
