That seems so easy to make! I think I would use the whole belt and sew it to the burlap, but just because I love long shoulder straps.

Wow, such a good idea for a great product without being an overwhelming amount of work. Some rivets would really jazz up the straps.
omg, I have two circular straw placemats that are super pretty colors that I almost never use that would be perfect for this!! If anyone is curious, I bought mine at big lots for like $2 each or something, so that's a good place to get them

if you wanted to re-use fabric scraps, you can create a more eclectic look by braiding then sewing a braid of fabric to form the two sides instead

What are those clips you use? are they strong? and more importantly- Where can i get some?
What kind of tension would you use? I always mess things up due to incorrect tension. Is there a guide you use??

Did you have to use a special kind of needle to sew the bag together? It really looks great! At first, I tought you crochet the bag with straw yarn :D guess you can just buy it :D
+vayjikreuz I had a long upholstery needle that worked well, crochet could also work!

You can actually sew straw pretty easily with a regular sewing machine. The needle shouldn't be too thin, but milliners also use regular sewing machines for those spirally straw hats...
I'm making a lot of these and then selling them!! I'm bout to profit off these bags lol jk...sorta. But this does give me a reason to get back into bag making
