I have an S3 8Y and it's a great car, and it doesn't cost much for a stage 1 plus remap to get the same hp as an RS3. I bought the S3 because my mate had the Golf R 20 years, a fantastic car also, but i didnt want to copy him. I may still change up to RS3 eventually, but insurance and maintenance costs are just a bit more mental, so some serious thought before I take the plunge.
@@teikarate Great car! always talk about how great the R and S3 are as all round weapons, this was the exact train of thought for this video, is it worth it, yes the RS3 is unique and bonkers, but its also expensive, plenty of stage 1 R's and S3's keeping pace with stock RS3's, and like you said, stage 1 is pretty cheap when you consider the money needed to upgrade an S3 to the RS3, happy driving!
I've had the S3 sedan for 3 months and I think it's a great car for a fair price. I live in Poland and I made the most of my car allowance, half for private use and half for business use. In 2019, they introduced limits on the amount of a company car. Additionally, a tax on cars with a capacity of over 2 liters has been in force in Poland for several dozen years. It is 18.6%. In total, we have one limit on the amount of a company car and one general excise tax for everyone in Poland. I would love to have an Audi RS3 but with my configuration I would have to pay 50% more for the car. I couldn't depreciate this 50% in the company. Just knowing that I mostly pay tax based on engine capacity is very frustrating. Especially since we live in times when the C63 AMG has 2 liters and 680 HP, but in this case you do not have to pay the 18.6% excise tax. Either way, I'm glad I have the Audi S3 and I think it's a fantastic car
I have a 2022 RS3, and the engine is the deciding factor. Last of the 5 cylinders. Truly sounds unique and aggressive, but perhaps a little subdued. Otherwise, amazing little car!
the interior look like standard A3 S3 the only change is the logo sign RS3 this is terrible 😬 for this price does not make you feel special i don't choosing AUDI only BMW M 🏆🏆
I got the S3 8y saloon glacier white stunning car in-person inside and out and the updated e888 engine that is in S3/ mk8 golf r gen4 come both with new continental turbo hence quicker even tho heavier than older versions and these Dyno at roughly 330bhp from stock on mk8 golf r and S3 8y they understated said power lower , rs3 Dyno runs show roughly 420 all with extra torque aswell
Not seen one do that stock but have seen times from high 3.6 to 3.9 which is claimed so that’s what we went for stock, stage one will run 3.5 easily as shown in the dragy clip 👍
@@bubblesthechimp97 so they did, looks like ranges from the claimed 3.9 to 3.3 can be achieved, suppose the test enviroment, fuel, driver weight, elevation, calibrated equipment all come into play for all the times but whether its 3.9, 3.6 or 3.3, still mighty quick
@@quattrocam I found the 3.3 a head scratcher which is why I remember it, but figured I'd mention it since you said you hadn't seen a stock one below 3.6. I'm at 5000+ ft elevation so I can't get anywhere close to 3.3.
@Bubbles The Chimp appreciate it 😊 makes the RS3 arguement even more impressive, what country are you in it 5000 ft if you don't mind me asking? that's some serious elevation
You can, except there are some big differences even with the engine, it’s the same 888 block but diff turbo, head, compression, injectors, cams etc, A3 engines can be tuned to run the same figures but their ceiling is lower regarding peak power and reliability according to most MQB owners forums
Which one are you choosing? or maybe you'd prefer a BMW: ua-cam.com/video/P417A-4IFYI/v-deo.html

I’d say the RS3 if you plan to visit the track regularly, because the S3 is more than enough for the Street.
If I had the money I would pay for the RS3. If I only had the money for the S3, I would buy a Golf R instead.
To many issues with the new Golf R though so S3 for me

It is a great all rounder, does everything well, can't fault it

Yeah, they are great everyday useable power in any road conditions!
Not for me but well done video
Thank you 🙏
0 - 60 is actually 3.5 seconds for the rs3

Just get a A3 with a sport package and mod it since the A3 and S3 have the same engine
