    I love granny square blankets, this one made even more gorgeous with the colors you selected. The actual blanket you crocheted made it into that photo shoot?! That is quite awesome! That would be a very big deal to me too if that were something I had made. :)

    A tip for remembering what hook,and wool for your project I saw from another lady was take a photo of your project showing the label wool and hook, then you always have a record of it, a very modern way to do it, don't you think? Loved that tip.

    Clare, this is an update on the blanket. I ordered the yarn 5 months ago and just got started 2 days ago. Like I said previously I'm working on an assembly line instead of doing each square at a time. I finished the motifs, ordered super saver in ALL colors, but definitely need another skein of the spring green to complete the last round of the square. I'm letting others know IF you're going to make this blanket you're going to need 2 skeins of the super saver in the Color C (spring green). Enjoying making this blanket! Thanks again for the great pattern❣🖒👏👏🖒💜🌼

    What am I doing wrong? I've tried twice to get the green in the right sequence, but I've turned out with too many petals the first time and not enough the second go round. I absolutely love the way the daisies look, and I want desperately to make it and add to it to be large enough to go on my bed. I'm going to start from scratch once again. I'm just a tiny step above a beginning crocheter.

    Absolutely in LOVE with this design and the many different color ways are endless! Saw this pattern ad on Pinterest and just knew I had to give it a go. Not a huge fan of the ruffle border, though, so I'll probably omit that if (or rather, when) I make mine. It's not a bad feature, but I just know I'll mess it up somehow and it'll look super messy, haha. I'm still fairly new to crocheting. Is there a way to go about not doing the ruffling?

    I just ordered my yarn from Amazon to make this beautiful blanket for my granddaughter who just turned 1. I ordered the huge 700+ yards of yarn skeins, guess I should have referenced back to the tutorial before ordering 😆 Oh well, I just might make it a little bit bigger, since I'll have plenty of yarn. I showed my daughter the picture of the blanket, and she absolutely adored it. I can't wait to get started. Thanks again for another brilliant pattern.😍💞🖒👏👏👏🎖

    • @Mzdiana82
      @Mzdiana82 8 років тому

      I think I might do this in an assembly line way doing each round at once until I've got them all done and then move on to the next round. Do you think this is a good idea or doing them individually?

    • @CrochetwithClare
      @CrochetwithClare  8 років тому

      I think that is a great idea, that is how i make mine :) That way you get practice and by 2 or so squares you have the round memorized :)

    Oh my goodness. This is precious. This year is the Year of the Lap Blanket for me, so I'm probably going to find a good excuse to make this at some point. You also sound kind of stiff... feeling unwell? Or are the corporate weasels being buggy about your personal style of teaching? Also, yes, photo shoots are cool. XD

    The 4 square 'blanket' that you made in this tutorial would do for a lovely cat or small dog bed. My boys would love it.
    I'd do it in a cotton worsted weight for them, though.

      They love to scratch and pull, tunnel and fuss around with their bedding and prefer lumpy to smooth to lie on. Adding this to a 'pet bed' or even just alone satisfies their nesting needs.

    I'm working on pair of baby booties that have slip stitching to join the soles together. Instead of going on between the two "train tracks" you go under both of them and then back through the middle of the last stitch in the round. The pattern calls it an invisible join

I have made the not so square one but it has been to long and I dont remember how many I made I think I did 8" squares and did 8 across and 10 down it was pretty big .but I want the exact sizes so I don't go overboard .

      G'day mom Woodard thank you for your comment, thank you for watching. The easiest way to find out how many you need to make is make 1 square and then see how big it is, measure how big you want your blanket and divide it by the square measurement. You will add extra when you add a border depending oh how big you make your border
      Hope this helps

    Thank you making this video! I loved this pattern as soon as I saw it. As a newbie to crochet I was intimidated by the written pattern but watching this gave me the confidence to tackle this project. I've finished sixteen squares so far but am almost out of green. Is one regular skein really sufficient? I seem to be doing fine on white and yellow but feel I should have gotten a jumbo green (or two regular sized).

      Hello, thank you so much for your great feedback :)
      RE your question, i think you may have picked up an error, I am trying to think back at what i did when i made the blanket and i can not remember, but looking at the photo and how much green there is, I would say you will need 2 of the 7oz skeins
      SO sorry about that

      bobwilson123 After a holiday break I finally got back to this project and completed it! This was my first granny square blanket and I learned a lot. I'm pleased the wrong side looks almost as good as the right side. Thank you!

    If you started this with a magic ring.. Would you do 12 in the magic ring then round two twelve double crochet?? Not getting it to look right : / Thank you!! (Love your videos!!)

    • @CrochetwithClare
      @CrochetwithClare  8 років тому +1

      yes if you start with a magic ring then you would then chain 3 and work 11 dc into the ring. you should have 12 dc total after the end of that round.

      Hello, thank you so much for your great feedback, I am sorry but i do not know how to do that
      I know I used almost 1 ball of the yellow in the edging, I only used 1 ball of white for 36 squares and 1 ball of green
      Hope this helps you a little bit

      Thank u for the answer. I'm making the blanket with a little lighter yarn so the squares will be smaller but I hope to turn up good. Love the pattern. :)

      I’d like to know when you finished yours, how much yarn, but mainly size and how many squares you made (vertically and horizontally)

    That hook looks exactly like the Susan Bates hooks. Is the Susan Bates company actually owned by Read Heart yarn Co.? I don't know, but that's definitely a Susan Bates hook.
    Having the hook in line with the rest of the shaft is a nice advantage for smoother crocheting. The Boye hooks are not like that, the hook part is proud of the shaft which makes the hook get snagged on the body of the work each time you pull the hook back out of a stitch. I never liked the Boye hooks for that reason. I find the leading edge of the hook on the Susan Bates hooks to be shaped too much like a chisel which sometimes grabs one of the strands in the yarn and splits it, sometimes badly.
    But there are companies who make a good hook that is less likely to get hung up on the yarn. I like the Tulip ones, but their down fall is their cost.

    I love your videos the only problem is that you need to make maybe some beginner ones because you moved to fast and I just got lost. I really do like your channel, your pieces are amazing, and you are so talented I just got lost. its is probably just me though.
    P.S I am by no means saying I could do better because I am lucky if I could even turn on a camera.
