I was reading the about section of your channel. I think its awesome that plants/gardening are a form of therapy for you. It is the same for me as well. I started growing plants after i lost my brother to suicide in 2021. I just didn't know what to do with myself. I knew that if i didnt do something, I was going to be in trouble. Ive been sober since 2017. And i was afraid that being so deep in grief, i would be tempted to use again. It scared me actually. I was truly hurting. Between actual in-person therapy, and plant therapy, its helped keep me on track.....and face my grief. I still miss my brother very much. But, I know that he wouldn't want me to lose myself again. I watch your channel and "Desert Plants of Avalon" channel on a regular basis. Sorry for the.novel length comment. I just wanted to share how much all of this has helped my life......and helped keep me in check. And on track! #SoberLife #GrowingInEveryWay
Thanks you so much for this video. We thought they were annuals but after seeing this in the fall , I kept them. 4out of 5 survived the 7b winter and now they are bushy and putting on blooms this early!!!
I'm zone 6a Ohio and I left mine uncovered and set them on the East side of my house; probably the worst idea lmao I checked on them today and there is life 😍
Really enjoyed your video I’m just learning to take care of a house fern my first house plant I’m. Not so much a green thumb when it come to house plant so I’m here to learn stay safe
Thanks!😁 I'm learning about shrubs and larger flowering plants cuz im redoing my lanscape! Currently have a red twig dogwood that I propagated through the summer so hopefully that shrub gets huge!. I livestream tomm Sunday 7 EST Let's chat!
First time watching and love how you explained everything about this plant I just got one from my grandson in June and left it my porch didn’t know nothing about it flowers died and hasn’t bloom I thought it was an annual and was going to throw it away but something told me today to go and find information before throwing it away and I am glad I did it such a hardy plant and easy to grow thanks for sharing
This is an old post but if you see this you can reply. What about the congested roots from the previous season? I would probably remove from the pot, loosen roots a bit and put in new looser (or more loose, who knows) soil. What are your thoughts? Great videoBTW.
Thank you for sharing! Would you please kindly elaborate a little more on the propagation? What is your success rate? I also saw the stem propagation method for mums, but all my cuttings failed last year :( I hope to be more successful with this root propagation method
I Get out doors as much as i can, this year i am trying wild flowers from seeds started indoors and will try some seeds out doors as well/ cross my fingers. I believe once they get started outdoors they will propagate themselves when the birds are done eating their share lol and I won't have to plant them anymore. Love your Mother...( nature )
To be honest I don't know. They generally pop up on its own when it's the right time of the season. I guess the question ro ask next is how much sun are they getting?
I dont have a greenhouse nor space in the garage. Can't I leave them on a north facing deck near the walls of the house? And keep them watered from time to time? I'm in 6b.
I use organic only products. Various brands whatever is more convenient or available at the time. I have used fish emulsions, made fertilizer tea, worm castings etc
I'm in southern Africa and my mums have started showing more growth and budding in autumn (southern hemisphere, the seasons are opposite). So well, I'm confused
cause people here in the street throw away the mums thinking it is dead then i get them bring them back to flower ,get things back👍🤣 some i keep depending the color
I had mine die ! I bought them for my gf ... quickly realized they need lots of sun 🌞 and I was watering a decent amount but died 😢 then all of a sudden one new one sprouted but turned wilted wtf I want em to regrow should I trim it all down to the stem ? Ps kept indoor on a window sill Winter outside and have a green thumb lol 😆 😅
Some may die. Out of all of those plants 1 didn't come back🤷♀️ it happens BUT most will survive. I only trim back the stems up to a certain point cuz if ya chop too much off it can have a hard time growing back.
Idk what zone I’m in but I got some a few weeks ago and all the flowers died off. How do I care for them now? The same way as this video? They weren’t doing good in direct light. Or even outside
You can Google ask what zone your town is in. Idk whats going on with your plants but here's a other video mums I did ua-cam.com/video/Jb9FEkmaRig/v-deo.html
thank you for your video! I live in Zone 6, I had beautiful mums this fall- do you think I could keep them in an unheated garage for the winter? I would love if they come back.
@@TheAdhdGardener follow up! success! i overwintered 2 hardy mum plants that I purchased too late to plant in the ground and kept them in my unheated garage and occasionally watered them. 50% success! one came back! i'll continue to care for it until the last frost (i'm in Zone 6) and then plant them in garden =)
@@MD062010 that's great!! Sometimes some plants just don't make it🤷♀️ could've been a plant issue out of your control but I'd wait none the less. Mine started growing back too! Some of then I see no growth yet but I'll keep working on them. Congrats!!!🌻🌻
I bought some Mums, from my local nursery. These plants are almost 30 to 40 inches in height.Pl advise me how do I deal with them_leave them, prune their height, keep them in their pots,or plant them in my garden?
Hey there! I leave them to bloom on their own. Being they are outside we can't rush the natural light cycle. Early bloomers will bloom late summer, the late bloomers will bloom in fall. You can trick the plant into bloom if u have a full spectrum grow light. Also don't forget to fertilize

Theyre awesome n even better they'll come back every year😍🌻
In zone 7b, had a few really gnarly frosts this winter and my mum plant actually survived outdoors.
Don't forget they attract some serious Aphids (my current situation with them)! Glad yours came back😁
Great video. I appreciated seeing actual examples not just talking about it
Thanks so much!🌻 hope it's helpful
Thank you thank you sooo much!!! Best advice! I really needed to hear this! 💓
Let's experiment with more mums this year!

well explained great👌👌

Mine are big green bushes. No buds yet
It is end of July (outside)
My mums come back every year but they don’t produce any flowers ..what can I do . Ty for sharing

Actually have a Chrysanthemum vid coming out this week on those same plants in mid bloom-caring for your mums

U can keep them wherever there's some sunlight😁 keep them watered and don't forget some fertilizer till it's time to bloom then show those babies off🌻
just wondering, did you cut them short before the winter?
What brand of liquid fertilizer do you use?

The garage doesn't sound like a bad spot although I wonder do they need sunlight throughout dormancy🤔 id test one out n call it an experiment 😉🌻

I’m thinking they’re tough. Give them some sun and some mulch around them like some dry pine needles

If you're referring to United Arab Emirates they say it's the same as garden zone 10b in the usa
