The bridge wasn’t designed to get hit by a floating skyscraper

A bridge cannot be built strong enough to withstand anything that big with that much mass moving at 7 or 8 knots. We dont have technology and materials that can do it. That is a ship clise to 100,000 tons. When it lost power which caused it to lise rudder control. It was already too close to truly do anything to stop the collision. But that didn't stop the bar piolet from truing though. It just takes so much time & room needed to do any sort of maneuvering. If you wactj the gps track afyer ot was pulled from its berth you can see how distance was needed to just tirn it around to get in the channel to head out of the harbor. I truly believe this was just a horrible accident that was already beyond anyones control to stop it when it started. My wife & i used to clean the bar piolets houses here in Savannah GA. I remember talking to them about their job & the job of getting those ships in & out of the Savannah River.

It can be prevented with tugboats and also barriers that ships can hit first before reaching vulnerable spots like these pillars.

If they can help it. I am not a captain but I think some ships have mishaps and become hard to steer.

Imagine you going on the highway with a car and suddenly you loose one of your front tires, how easy do you think it would be to steer the car?

Where are all the reporters ‘chasing after’ interviews of AT LEAST JUST ONE passenger who was on the ship? Reporters normally would’ve been at the scene, getting that ‘hot mic’ moment. Ya know, like reporters do, making their drama….WHERE are the interviews of the 22passengers?

@@maltheri9833 that’s NOT at all what I’m saying….there are a multitude of other opportunities, and I in no way imply an interview IMMEDIATELY that morning…what are you simple minded

They're not letting random people onto the ship, and no one on the crew should be talking to anyone but a lawyer right now.

The US does far more for humanitarian aid and support than your country. The military budget also covers for your own insufficient military.

    TEARS = 2024 !!
Tears are the raindrops of the soul
And there's one for all who die.
They are the silent words of grief
As they fall free from the eye.
The shortest verse in the Bible
Is the one where Jesus wept
So, if you hold back tears, shed them
When your pain is too harsh to accept.
Tears are lovelier than a smile
When they come from those you love
As they seek relief from sadness
    When you're summoned from above.
Tears are a love-mates humble gift
When it's time to say goodbye
Though the eyes are wet and swollen
With time and patience they dry.
    By Tom Zart!
