The daal is black coz its black lentil which translates to मासका दाल its the name of this daal like toor daal chana daal. And its black in appearence coz some ppl put iron bowl in it while cooking it. It is considered to be very healthy. Thankyou. And मासु is meat मास is the name of daal in Nepali.😁
You need to combine everything and eat like a monster then you’ll get the real taste of Nepali thali set.. Make sure it’s warm.. The warmer the food, better it tastes..

Actually you need to put more daal in your rice and mix with variety of those Vegetables. The quantity of daal that you consume was very small. So next time put some more daal in your rice and take one bite with chicken and some little gravy in it. That will be the tastier bite that that of yours.
