Can someone pray for me? I’m going through a difficult time right now. Hurtful words was said to me by an authority figure. I’ve been crying for the past couple of days and nearing panic attacks. I’ve been fearful and anxious and leaning to God for help

My hobbies and interests either feed me or pay me, Collecting scrap metal (which turned from a hobby to my career), dumpster diving, gardening, raising livestock, foraging for food, hunting, and fishing. I can think of, honor, and thank Jesus while doing all of it.

Only when said worldly things become something you prioritize over God does it become evil. What the Bishop says about everything outside of Jesus being evil is because every single one of them has the potential to become a priority over Jesus, has a potential to become your Baal. The commodities the world nowadays offers is addictive, our responsibilities in this world nowadays has become something that we must fulfill bothe because of we need it to keep living as well as societal standards, most of the communities around us are not faithful to God. Looking at these, every single one of the run the risk of distracting us from the Lord. Therefore, it is not exactly wrong to call them evil. However, so long as we keep our eyes to God, then these things should not even be able to leave a scratch on us.
If only all the Bishops were like him we would have a beautiful world no drugs no wars no same sex marriage all the priests n Bishops she learn from him
Once Jesus Christ returns, everything will be as it should. Jesus's followers will be in heaven, and all evil will be judged, and there will be justice.

I game a lot so i dont focus on the evils of this world. i smoke to calm my nerves and i drink larger (3-4cans) most nights, this is my confession. im not sure if im sinning but God please know that this world is finite , i want to be with god for he is infinite and infinite love is abound. i long for it. this world makes me miserable. this is my truth. My hobbies are reading, feeding strays and writing penpal letters. God will judge me and he will see what is in my heart and I will accept what is. I’m insignificant in this world and I leave it up to God. You know what’s evil the Orthodox priest in my parish who ignored my calls to come see my mother who was fighting cancer. Out of 6 years he showed up one time to give her holy communion. He was more concerned with the outlandish donation left to our church to paint icons on the wall. My mother was dying and he was picking out new carpet samples. Although I am Orthodox Christian I am still a sinner and Jesus Will forgive me. I just feel bad for Jesus because he was truly selfless and this world is selfish. I’m thankful for Jesus and he will judge me, not the priest.

No, not at all. There is so much beauty to behold in this life. The Bishop is mainly concerned about the obvious sins plus other things that could take your mind off Jesus. We are supposed to be mindful in all things we do.
Life is a gift and to be enjoyed. Nothing is evil or good, however humanity will always be drawn to the evil aspect. For example technology can be good and bad, but its being used more for bad than good. When you use a phone app most likely there will be content that’s not considered good like a dating application for example. Is all about how you make use of things, and remembering we are all sinners which is why we go to Church weekly.

I once, as a teenager, back in the 80’s, expressed ridicule at the notion that the TV programme ‘eastenders’ was evil (a priest had expressed this opinion at that day’s mass) my father, who was a gentle, wise man replied that ‘perhaps it is evil’. Well, after 40 years of wandering away from faith, seeking happiness outside the Holy Sheepfold, and thank God coming back home, I can see just how evil all these social engineering ‘programmes’ were - and they are much much worse nowadays.

Not everything we love is an idol and taking care of your children and being good partner and parent isn’t evil. To work isn't evil. To be a friend isn't evil. To take care of yourselves isn't evil. To help other even if he doesn’t deserve it isn’t evil. People get hyperspiritual and they think that's holy. Trying to be righteous through your own doing, being, breathing is insane. Only through Jesus. Even Jesus had a job. To believe Jesus wants you to stop existing and just quote Bible and work in ministry is a lie! Even Apostles worked. A lie to condemn you. A lie to bring an anxiety and worry and fear. Man cannot utter God's goodness. Spirits twist things. They make you believe you have to fulfill the law still and more you trying to spend time with God and do all for God and not be selfish the more you condemn yourself and isolate self from others. Be aware of this. Jesus doesn’t want you to be alone 24/7 worshipping Him in your room.
Exactly. I grew up taking lies like this one seriously and I ended up miserable, terrified, and confused. It pushed me away from Christianity. I hated myself for being creative or curious or imaginative, because none of those things are of Jesus, and therefore are evil. Nothing I tried could purge myself of creativity or curiosity, so I stewed in self loathing and misery. Eventually I renounced Christianity for being a bunch of liars.

The 'world' in scripture are those who reject God, not the created, natural world. Man was created in the image of God and He called us good. We were corrupted by sin.
Marriage, family, jobs and healthy hobbies, kept in balance are NOT evil.
I grew up taught that everything outside Jesus is evil, and I took it seriously. I was miserable, terrified, and confused. After staying up all night for many nights pondering what I was taught, I came to the logical conclusion that imagination, curiosity, and creativity are evil. I then concluded that I myself am evil for having those things, and I should hate myself for being unable to purge myself of imagination.

I believe God uses this as like a parable I guess you could say. The scriptures show in so many areas the difference of believers and unbelievers. Sheep and goats, tares and wheat, the 2 thieves. I love to make corded rosaries. That it what my hobby is. I'm a firm believer in praying the rosary. I would like to start making them and giving them to the homeless (along with a pamphlet on how to pray it).
You could give them food and shelter. Find help for them or create a way to give them something they need like fresh water and a way to get off the streets or live like an animal in the woods. Jesus did not give out rosaries to people with nowhere to live and no clothes and sick and nothing to eat. He took care of them.

One more comment regarding two crucified bad guy alongside of Jesus, the one that has repented last moment was actually bathed in the same water as Jesus while being a baby . He was baptised if you will,which pushed him over the edge at the most crucial moment to save him from damnation (he repented his evil doings)

As Samael at the point of his creation God gave him dominion over the material world before he rejected his mission and became fallen. Thats why sin is so strong in this world. Only through baptism and confirmation can you break his claim on your souls. Otherwise he can claim you as his property.

@timmay1756 Ironically, you yourself have just violated Paul's advice from Romans 14:23, and sinned. That chapter says that eating meat is not a sin, but it is a sin if it causes your brother to stumble.
I was told as a child that everything outside Christ is evil, and it caused me to stumble. I thought that sports, creativity, curiosity, imagination, and any number of other things were evil, for being outside Jesus, and that I was therefore evil for having those traits. I hated myself and was miserable, terrified, and confused. I eventually rejected Christianity for being liars.

I don't agree, with all due respect. A hobby of mine was to purchase broken things, fix them and resell them. That turned into a business and a career. That has absolutely nothing to do with God aside from him giving me the ability to do these things. So I don't think all hobby's are evil.

So i can have no hobby sell everything and live life to basic (pray eat pray drink pray work pray church pray sleep pray ) is one the first place above everything praying🙏but no fun normal hobby’s i don’t get it whats so bad about that .i hear many words but tell us in a few words how to live if i listen to him it’s like earth is all evil (satan).
