M.A.C. Russian Red Matte is my favorite, and I apply chapstick before the lipstick and my lips don’t feel dry afterwards. I love wearing lipstick and eyeliner-those are my go-to makeup products, and I think that the lipsticks looked nice on you.💙.

I finally broke down and decided to try it. When it was $17.50 on national lipstick day it reminded me of the price these lipsticks used to be. I remember picking them up for $15 and $16.50. I just had to try it. It's actually so beautiful, and more comfortable than I expected it to be. Thanks for watching today! I'm not surprised that the Fenty one is a Korean formulation. It certainly feels like it. I like the shade I picked up since I have more pinks, nudes and reds in my korean versions of this type of product. This berry shade is lovely. Thanks for watching.
Oh I wanna pick up a few clinique lippes now. In the 90s the silver ribbed case were my favourites. Dramatically different lipstick in raspberry glace & baby kiss. Loved their makeup back then.
I LOVED Angel Kiss in the gloss formula. I remember when it came in a pot, and I had to use my finger to apply. It was a thick, goopy, sticky gloss, but it didn't go anywhere. (except in my hair!) I miss some of those old Clinique formulas and shades. I remember having Raspberry Glace too. Such a lovely color. Angel Red, and Red, Red, Red were my two favorites from Clinique. I repurchased them so many times! Thanks so much for watching.
That sheer matte lipstick is very pretty! I just picked up Lisa Eldridge’s Velvet Morning for my birthday because it’s being discontinued and is on sale, but now I’m so sad because I adore it!
Velvet Morning is so good! I wish she wasn't discontinuing it. I think it's one of the shades that doesn't get a lot of sales, and that's why it's on the chopping block. Every time I wear it, someone askes me what it is, or tells me they like my lipstick. Every. Time. I think that it's a shade that isn't in most people's comfort zone. I'll miss knowing I can get a back up of it, but I still have plenty in my bullet. Thanks for watching today.

Love the look of the MAC Ruby woo color on you. Great video and thanks for the info on the changes to MAC and Clinique. Clinique pop lipsticks have been one of my go to for years. I love the fact that they don’t have fragrance and I can wear so many other shades. I honestly haven’t tried any of the new formation. Last summer, I stocked up on my favorites, nude pop, bare pop, mocha pop, and love pop. Thought something was up when my local Ulta wasn’t restocking and the Clinique lady acted as if she didn’t have a clue. Since the warehouse still showed stock I ordered a few. 🤷🏼♀️ Who knows if the new formulation will work for me or not but it’ll be quite a while before I get to it. 😊 I know it’s not a lipstick, more like a lip balm, but I did use a gift card to pick up the Clinique Almost Lipstick in Pink Honey. It’s been in my purse all summer. It’s a slim little case that I can easily fit in my pocket and the pinky peach shade has gone with everything I’ve worn this summer.
It's been years since I've tried Pink Honey, but I remember loving it. I love those slim little silver tubes Clinique makes. I've had so many over the years, it's pure nostalgia when I get another one. I love the original Pop formula so much. I should've kept my Cherry Pop because now it comes in the shimmer formula. I just want a plain, satin formula in a perfect red. That's what the old Cherry Pop was, and now I'm bummed that I didn't keep it. I feel like the satin reformulation is very similar to the old formula. The Shimmer in Bare Pop is not as pigmented as I recall it being, and I'm not a fan of the sparkle. I'm hesitant to try the matte formula since I didn't like the Matte Pop formula before. It was too drying. I've been loving Ruby Woo, and I'm glad that I picked it up on sale. It's exactly what I wanted. Such a perfect red with a more comfortable formula. The Retro Matte killed my lips. This MACximal Matte is so much better. I purchased the new Nars explicit lipstick. I bought the shade Envy which is described as a mauve pInk. In the tube and on my lips it it a warm color (like a light salmon color). It is sheer and hydrating and although it is a pretty shade, I don't feel it is worth $40 since I needed to constantly reapply it to get color on my lips. The next day I returned Envy and purchased Decadence in the same formula. It is a deeper shade which looked better on me and did not need constant retouching. Also I love the Westman Atelier suede lipstick in Le Reve. This is the only matte lipstick I have found that does not dry out my lips. It is very pricey but I love it and so it is worth the money to me. Love your videos.

I'm new to your channel. I love lipstick and I am always trying new colors and brands. My favorite is Estee Lauder Pure Color Creme and Hi Lustre lipsticks. I enjoy the colors: Rose Tea, Modern Muse, Make You Blush, Pink Parfait, Candy, Frosted Apricot. These lipsticks are creamy and hydrating especially the cremes. I have tried the new Clinique lipsticks in Sugar Pop, Bare Pop, Nude Pop, Melon Pop and Beige Pop. All of them are pretty. Bobbi Brown makes some nice Luxe lipsticks too. I have a few of the Guerlain lipsticks and my case is the sparking pink crystals. Clarins Joli Rouge in their satin formula is lovely and refillable. My favorite colors are Lilac Pink, Camilla Nude, Peach Nude. It's fun! Thanks for the fun video.

I just bought the Ruby woo one you had. I haven't tried it yet but its a pretty red. I cant wait to try it. I also bought 4 of the Fenty Beauty gloss bomb stix including the shade Riri. I really like those gloss bomb stix. Riri is a perfect fall winter color. Fenty came out with lip liners too and there is a shade called Riri to go with the gloos bonb stix. I picked up that lip liner too.

I bought the Fenty one in the color Hibiscus and immediately knew I would need a lip liner as I am 50. I so enjoy your videos. Thanks so much for the compliment. I love green and bright colors in general. I don't always wear them on a filming day, but I have so much bright stuff in my closet. I just don't always reach for these saturated shades in my makeup. I didn't pick up any backups of the LE lipsticks. I have everything that I use, and I know that there will be some of these beauties that go bad in my collection because I don't finish them. : ( The only one I thought about getting a back up of is Velvet Morning. I love that bright orangey red! I'll be fine without it, and I'll dig out every last bit from the tube when it's finished. I need a liner with the Fenty ones too. A good gel liner goes a long way in making sure my lippie stays in place without leaving my vermillion border. That sucks regarding the Guerlain new and old lipstick cases. Clearly they’re goal is to make us all buy new cases with the new lipsticks. Will you be trying out the new NARS Explicit satin refillable lipsticks? I’m so curious about them, I’ll probably pick up a few. I also bought Blazed donut in the Fenty lippie and returned it because it was too light and showed off everything unflattering, but I have the shade Fenty Glow and love it! Need more shades! I use the smallest amount over a lip liner base and it’s so lovely.
Yes, Blazed Donut didn't look good on me either. I'm glad I traded it out for this shade in RiRi. The Guerlain lipstick packaging change really bummed me out. I'm very frustrated by it, but not enough to not purchase it. When I saw the announcement of the new NARS lipsticks, I knew I'd be picking at least one up to try. I'll do a makeup updates in a few weeks including this MAC lipstick. I like the Lustreglass formula, but it's so creamy, it ends up leaving my vermillion boarder. It is such a comfortable formula. It's been a while since I purchased one.
I also find myself buying satin lipsticks now. Partly a result of the resurgence of the shiny lip and lip glosss but also time is not on my side and I need just a smidge of emolience.

OMG I love a lipstick video! I have been wanting to try the Fenty one, as i swear the entire lippie world seems to be on a "let's copy the Black Honey color in our formula" kick. That one looks intriguing. And speaking of Clinique...that was the first lipstick I bought as a teenager ( I will be 61 next week) I think it was the blackberry color (black honey came 2nd...lol) and I loved it. I will have to try that new formula. I also am going to totally buy the new MAC formula in that red color. I love red, always am on the hunt for one that actually looks good on me. I have a few, but that one looks super pretty. The Violette FR am so buying. She comes up with interesting products. @@mzmerryweather I'm so glad you love a lip video. I do too! The Bisou Balm is very comfortable with several layers. I think if I put on a light layer, it might not be enough for my older lips. But when I layer it, it's so fabulous! It's makes me want more shades. I love Clinique lip products. I always have. I'm so glad to have picked up a satin version of this new reformulation. I miss one of the discontinued shades that I used to buy regularly and finish. Black Lily. It was kind of like a more intense version of Black Honey, but with a cooler undertone and slightly more pigmented. 😥 I still miss it! @@paulac1469 I really like it, but I applied it liberally. All day. My lips didn't end up dry, but I recommend starting with well exfoliated lips. It does catch on dry spots.
First of all, I love your earrings and necklace on day one…but then also on day two!! I always love your jewelry! 💕 I have really wanted to try the Fenty gloss sticks. I definitely have mature lips and really dislike a formula that goes up into my lip lines. With a lip liner, does it stay put? If yes, I’m in! Oh, the new Guerlain Rouge G’s. I’m so bummed they didn’t AT LEAST improve the cases to be magnetic if they increased the price and the new cases don’t fit the previous tubes. It feels like a money grab to not improve them but just make sure they won’t fit old lipsticks. That said, I do love the formula. I also think they make a really lovely gift because you can have them engraved if you order from Guerlain. I look forward to seeing what you think about the Fenty and Violette FR over time!
I'll make sure to include these lippies in an upcoming Makeup Updates. I find that if I'm using a gel liner, the Fenty stays pretty well. I was so bummed that the Guerlain lipstick packaging changed again. (and the price went up AGAIN) Obviously I'm upset, but all that aside, the lipstick itself is stunning. I've been reaching for it a lot this week. It's comfortable, and such a wearable color. I wore the Violette FR all day, and really liked it. I had on way more than fits the "cool French girl" aesthetic, but my lips didn't dry out. I kept reapplying it with wild abandon. I seem to really like it. Thanks for the jewelry compliment. The long earrings are ones I've had for over a decade. They were cheap fashion earrings I picked up about 13 years ago, but always forget to wear. I think I paid $12 for them. I really like them, and because they're so long and pointy, they feel dangerous!
i absolutely love the new mac macximal lipsticks, possibly my new favourite matte formula. i hated the original matte formula and it was so drying that it horribly triggered my eczema. very glad the formula was updated as there's so many amazing shades mac have. i have marrakesh and russian red now but plan to buy more eventually. very disappointed in guerlain for changing the packaging of the rouge g line and i don't see myself buying any of their lipsticks again which is a huge shame since 880 is one of my favourite reds. i recently got some elizabeth arden creme lipsticks and find the formula lovely. nothing special but really nice.
I'm so excited about the reformulation of the mac lipsticks. I needed to retry this lipstick, but I'm so glad that the formula is more comfortable. I've been thinking about picking up more because mac has so really fun shades, but I couldn't stand the old matte and retro matte formula. Obviously I'm upset that Guerlain changed the packaging to the Rouge G lipstick. Not upset enough to keep my from purchasing it, but I'm pretty bummed about the choice to repackage and not have any of the old components fit the new. I love that Dior reformulated and updated their packaging, but the old lipstick holders will fit the new refills, and vice versa! That's what it should be! I wore it all day, but reapplied with wild abandon. It kept my lips from getting dry, but only if I was forever reapplying it. If I wanted to wear it sheer, there wouldn't be enough hydration if I put on one layer, and then left it for hours. My lips are on the drier side, so it might be different for you. I really like it. The Generation G is so much drier, and more pigmented. This really is a different type of formula, and I'm so intrigued by it!
No, I ended up reapplying it throughout the day. (I reapplied a lot) If I kept my lips covered, I didn't end up with dry lips. I'm not sure I could wear one light layer, and then leave it for several hours. That wouldn't be enough hydration. It does wear off with eating and drinking, so it won't last through a meal or beverage. Over all, I'm very impressed, but I was applying with wild abandon!

Guerlain did us dirty. I'm mad about the cases not fitting, they absolutely shat on their loyal customers who thought Guerlain is all about longevity and timelessness. Now I have so many cases I can't refill because they discontinued the old line!

I was so disappointed that Guerlain changed the shape of the packaging just enough that the old ones won’t fit. I feel like it’s just a cash grab. With that being said, Rouge G is the only makeup product that I have ever really loved the packaging. And, of course, I really want one in the gold as well 😂
I was so angry at first, but obviously I got over it. I had to know. The old version of the caps were variable prices based on what they had on them. I have ones that are leather and were only $28. The crystal one I show here was $36. Now, all the cases (despite what they have on them) are $38. Boo! I really do like this shade of lipstick I picked up. it's probably the one that will get the most use because it's so versatile. Thanks for watching.
Clinique's Pop formula is so much better than their "Different Lipstick" formula. I have loved some of the Different Lipsticks over the years, but they are not lasting. Their lightweight nature made them disappear rather quickly. The pop lipsticks are still lightweight, but you get more hours out of them before you need more swipes.
Yes, I really loved when they debuted the Pop formula over a decade ago. It was so good, and I like this new version/reformulation of it. I've had so many different formulas from the brand, and this satin formula is always my favorite. (I do love the chubbies though) I used to have every shade they made in the chubby line up. In both the regular and Intense versions. I even had some of the limited edition shades!
@@thelipstickgal Strangely, I find the Chubby Sticks to be both drying and short-lived on my lips. I am fond of the Super Strawberry shade, as it's really close to my lip tone, but Mega Melon seems to keep showing up in "kits" I buy, LOL!
I just can't get over spending $25 plus for the "balmy" formulas that I could literally apply hourly - they just disappear so quickly on me, even if all I'm doing is talking or breathing. For those, I'm going drugstore.
I think that the drugstore has some good options, but I'm a sucker for more nuanced colors than I can get at the drugstore. That's why I end up with so many of these more expensive versions of glossy lip balms.
Guerlain has made such a poor choice in redoing the components. The whole point is that we bought something we could reuse for years. I'm not buying the new ones. I'm just terribly disappointed by them.
I totally understand. I'm so disappointed in the choice to change the packaging. Such a bummer. I love the formula and the component, but now I have 3 different versions of the lipsticks that don't work together. I wish they had done what Dior did. Dior repackaged and reformulated their lipsticks, but the refills fit into the old packaging, and vice versa. That's what I want to see from every brand. When you're spending $80 for a lipstick and case, it should fit the old cases you already have. Thanks for watching today!
Have you tried this new MACximal Matte formula? It's so much more comfortable than the older matte and retro matte formula. My lips are doing much better with this formula than previous ones. It's a new reformulation/release for 2024.
I remember how you talked about how your daughters could take over your cases for the Guerlain cases with inscription and what are we supposed to do? Throw away the 8 beautiful an expensive cases we’ve collected? That’s a hard NO thx Guerlain from me😤
It's really arrogant of Guerlain to piss off their loyal customers. Why did they choose to punish the people who already bought a lot of their lipsticks. If they believe they make more money thus, then good luck. A cap the price of a high-end lipstick isn't worth it for me
I'm so bummed that Guerlain decided to repackage and not have the old components fit the new packaging. That's a point of pain for me. Especially at the Guerlain prices. I was curious enough to want to know what this reformulation was like. It's still a lovely lipstick, but the price really hurts my pocketbook!
I actually pull the bullets out of newer lipsticks and fit them into the old packaging. I have done that for some of my older (plain silver and magnetic packaging) Guerlain Rouge G lipsticks. That's how I dress up a beautiful affordable formula with luxe packaging. It doesn't always work perfectly, but . . . I keep trying.
I just saw the Violette Fr is releasing a slightly different version of the bisou balm my month end…. Definitely interested. Her formula is unlike anything else I’ve tried

Oh I wanna pick up a few clinique lippes now. In the 90s the silver ribbed case were my favourites. Dramatically different lipstick in raspberry glace & baby kiss. Loved their makeup back then.
I LOVED Angel Kiss in the gloss formula. I remember when it came in a pot, and I had to use my finger to apply. It was a thick, goopy, sticky gloss, but it didn't go anywhere. (except in my hair!) I miss some of those old Clinique formulas and shades. I remember having Raspberry Glace too. Such a lovely color. Angel Red, and Red, Red, Red were my two favorites from Clinique. That sheer matte lipstick is very pretty! I just picked up Lisa Eldridge’s Velvet Morning for my birthday because it’s being discontinued and is on sale, but now I’m so sad because I adore it!
Velvet Morning is so good! I wish she wasn't discontinuing it. I think it's one of the shades that doesn't get a lot of sales, and that's why it's on the chopping block. Every time I wear it, someone askes me what it is, or tells me they like my lipstick. Every. Time. I think that it's a shade that isn't in most people's comfort zone. Clinique pop lipsticks have been one of my go to for years. I love the fact that they don’t have fragrance and I can wear so many other shades. I honestly haven’t tried any of the new formation. Last summer, I stocked up on my favorites, nude pop, bare pop, mocha pop, and love pop. Thought something was up when my local Ulta wasn’t restocking and the Clinique lady acted as if she didn’t have a clue. Since the warehouse still showed stock I ordered a few. 🤷🏼♀️ Who knows if the new formulation will work for me or not but it’ll be quite a while before I get to it. 😊
I know it’s not a lipstick, more like a lip balm, but I did use a gift card to pick up the Clinique Almost Lipstick in Pink Honey. It’s been in my purse all summer. It’s a slim little case that I can easily fit in my pocket and the pinky peach shade has gone with everything I’ve worn this summer.
It's been years since I've tried Pink Honey, but I remember loving it. I love those slim little silver tubes Clinique makes. I've had so many over the years, it's pure nostalgia when I get another one.
I love the original Pop formula so much. I should've kept my Cherry Pop because now it comes in the shimmer formula. I just want a plain, satin formula in a perfect red. That's what the old Cherry Pop was, and now I'm bummed that I didn't keep it.
I feel like the satin reformulation is very similar to the old formula. The Shimmer in Bare Pop is not as pigmented as I recall it being, and I'm not a fan of the sparkle. I'm hesitant to try the matte formula since I didn't like the Matte Pop formula before. It was too drying.
I've been loving Ruby Woo, and I'm glad that I picked it up on sale. It's exactly what I wanted. Such a perfect red with a more comfortable formula. The Retro Matte killed my lips. This MACximal Matte is so much better. Thanks so much for watching today, and have a wonderful week.
I purchased the new Nars explicit lipstick. I bought the shade Envy which is described as a mauve pInk. In the tube and on my lips it it a warm color (like a light salmon color). It is sheer and hydrating and although it is a pretty shade, I don't feel it is worth $40 since I needed to constantly reapply it to get color on my lips. The next day I returned Envy and purchased Decadence in the same formula. It is a deeper shade which looked better on me and did not need constant retouching. Also I love the Westman Atelier suede lipstick in Le Reve. This is the only matte lipstick I have found that does not dry out my lips. It is very pricey but I love it and so it is worth the money to me. Love your videos.

I'm new to your channel. I love lipstick and I am always trying new colors and brands. My favorite is Estee Lauder Pure Color Creme and Hi Lustre lipsticks. I enjoy the colors: Rose Tea, Modern Muse, Make You Blush, Pink Parfait, Candy, Frosted Apricot. These lipsticks are creamy and hydrating especially the cremes. I have tried the new Clinique lipsticks in Sugar Pop, Bare Pop, Nude Pop, Melon Pop and Beige Pop. All of them are pretty. Bobbi Brown makes some nice Luxe lipsticks too. I have a few of the Guerlain lipsticks and my case is the sparking pink crystals. Clarins Joli Rouge in their satin formula is lovely and refillable. My favorite colors are Lilac Pink, Camilla Nude, Peach Nude. It's fun! Thanks for the fun video.

I just bought the Ruby woo one you had. I haven't tried it yet but its a pretty red. I cant wait to try it. I also bought 4 of the Fenty Beauty gloss bomb stix including the shade Riri. I really like those gloss bomb stix. Riri is a perfect fall winter color. Fenty came out with lip liners too and there is a shade called Riri to go with the gloos bonb stix. I picked up that lip liner too.

I bought the Fenty one in the color Hibiscus and immediately knew I would need a lip liner as I am 50. I so enjoy your videos. Thanks so much for the compliment. I love green and bright colors in general. I don't always wear them on a filming day, but I have so much bright stuff in my closet. I just don't always reach for these saturated shades in my makeup.
I didn't pick up any backups of the LE lipsticks. I have everything that I use, and I know that there will be some of these beauties that go bad in my collection because I don't finish them. : ( The only one I thought about getting a back up of is Velvet Morning. I love that bright orangey red! I'll be fine without it, and I'll dig out every last bit from the tube when it's finished.
I need a liner with the Fenty ones too. A good gel liner goes a long way in making sure my lippie stays in place without leaving my vermillion border. Thanks so much for making the time to watch, I really enjoy making these videos and it's good to know you enjoy spending the time watching. : )

I also bought Blazed donut in the Fenty lippie and returned it because it was too light and showed off everything unflattering, but I have the shade Fenty Glow and love it! Need more shades! I use the smallest amount over a lip liner base and it’s so lovely.
Yes, Blazed Donut didn't look good on me either. I'm glad I traded it out for this shade in RiRi.
The Guerlain lipstick packaging change really bummed me out. I'm very frustrated by it, but not enough to not purchase it. When I saw the announcement of the new NARS lipsticks, I knew I'd be picking at least one up to try. I miss that they don't have the Audacious formula anymore. That was a really lovely formula with such stunning minimal packaging.

I'll do a makeup updates in a few weeks including this MAC lipstick. I like the Lustreglass formula, but it's so creamy, it ends up leaving my vermillion boarder. It is such a comfortable formula. It's been a while since I purchased one.
I also find myself buying satin lipsticks now. Partly a result of the resurgence of the shiny lip and lip glosss but also time is not on my side and I need just a smidge of emolience.

OMG I love a lipstick video! I have been wanting to try the Fenty one, as i swear the entire lippie world seems to be on a "let's copy the Black Honey color in our formula" kick. That one looks intriguing. And speaking of Clinique...that was the first lipstick I bought as a teenager ( I will be 61 next week) I think it was the blackberry color (black honey came 2nd...lol) and I loved it. I will have to try that new formula. I also am going to totally buy the new MAC formula in that red color. I love red, always am on the hunt for one that actually looks good on me. I have a few, but that one looks super pretty. The Violette FR am so buying. She comes up with interesting products. I guess one would when you are the creative director of makeup fro Guerlain... ;)

@@mzmerryweather I'm so glad you love a lip video. I do too! The Bisou Balm is very comfortable with several layers. I think if I put on a light layer, it might not be enough for my older lips. But when I layer it, it's so fabulous! It's makes me want more shades.
I love Clinique lip products. I always have. I'm so glad to have picked up a satin version of this new reformulation. I miss one of the discontinued shades that I used to buy regularly and finish. Black Lily. It was kind of like a more intense version of Black Honey, but with a cooler undertone and slightly more pigmented. 😥 I still miss it!

@@paulac1469 I really like it, but I applied it liberally. All day. My lips didn't end up dry, but I recommend starting with well exfoliated lips. It does catch on dry spots.
Violette JUST released a jelly version of her balms and are shiny/hydrating and I am very very intrigued.

I have really wanted to try the Fenty gloss sticks. I definitely have mature lips and really dislike a formula that goes up into my lip lines. With a lip liner, does it stay put? If yes, I’m in!
Oh, the new Guerlain Rouge G’s. I’m so bummed they didn’t AT LEAST improve the cases to be magnetic if they increased the price and the new cases don’t fit the previous tubes. It feels like a money grab to not improve them but just make sure they won’t fit old lipsticks. That said, I do love the formula. I also think they make a really lovely gift because you can have them engraved if you order from Guerlain.

I'll make sure to include these lippies in an upcoming Makeup Updates. I find that if I'm using a gel liner, the Fenty stays pretty well.
I was so bummed that the Guerlain lipstick packaging changed again. (and the price went up AGAIN) Obviously I'm upset, but all that aside, the lipstick itself is stunning. I've been reaching for it a lot this week. It's comfortable, and such a wearable color.
I wore the Violette FR all day, and really liked it. I had on way more than fits the "cool French girl" aesthetic, but my lips didn't dry out. I kept reapplying it with wild abandon. I seem to really like it.
Thanks for the jewelry compliment. The long earrings are ones I've had for over a decade. They were cheap fashion earrings I picked up about 13 years ago, but always forget to wear. I think I paid $12 for them. I really like them, and because they're so long and pointy, they feel dangerous!
i absolutely love the new mac macximal lipsticks, possibly my new favourite matte formula. i hated the original matte formula and it was so drying that it horribly triggered my eczema. very glad the formula was updated as there's so many amazing shades mac have. i have marrakesh and russian red now but plan to buy more eventually. very disappointed in guerlain for changing the packaging of the rouge g line and i don't see myself buying any of their lipsticks again which is a huge shame since 880 is one of my favourite reds. i recently got some elizabeth arden creme lipsticks and find the formula lovely. nothing special but really nice.
I'm so excited about the reformulation of the mac lipsticks. I needed to retry this lipstick, but I'm so glad that the formula is more comfortable. I've been thinking about picking up more because mac has so really fun shades, but I couldn't stand the old matte and retro matte formula.
Obviously I'm upset that Guerlain changed the packaging to the Rouge G lipstick. Not upset enough to keep my from purchasing it, but I'm pretty bummed about the choice to repackage and not have any of the old components fit the new. I love that Dior reformulated and updated their packaging, but the old lipstick holders will fit the new refills, and vice versa! That's what it should be! Especially when they're charging the price of a luxury lipstick just for the case.

I wore it all day, but reapplied with wild abandon. It kept my lips from getting dry, but only if I was forever reapplying it. If I wanted to wear it sheer, there wouldn't be enough hydration if I put on one layer, and then left it for hours. My lips are on the drier side, so it might be different for you. I really like it. The Generation G is so much drier, and more pigmented. This really is a different type of formula, and I'm so intrigued by it!
No, I ended up reapplying it throughout the day. (I reapplied a lot) If I kept my lips covered, I didn't end up with dry lips. I'm not sure I could wear one light layer, and then leave it for several hours. That wouldn't be enough hydration. It does wear off with eating and drinking, so it won't last through a meal or beverage. Over all, I'm very impressed, but I was applying with wild abandon!

I’m older than you…so I need lip liner and I cannot just swipe on a glossy lip. Rather, I gingerly dab it on my lips, blot and then dab a little more. Thank you for a great video!

I was so disappointed that Guerlain changed the shape of the packaging just enough that the old ones won’t fit. I feel like it’s just a cash grab. With that being said, Rouge G is the only makeup product that I have ever really loved the packaging. And, of course, I really want one in the gold as well 😂
I was so angry at first, but obviously I got over it. I had to know. The old version of the caps were variable prices based on what they had on them. I have ones that are leather and were only $28. The crystal one I show here was $36. Now, all the cases (despite what they have on them) are $38. Boo! I really do like this shade of lipstick I picked up. it's probably the one that will get the most use because it's so versatile. Thanks for watching.
Clinique's Pop formula is so much better than their "Different Lipstick" formula. I have loved some of the Different Lipsticks over the years, but they are not lasting. Their lightweight nature made them disappear rather quickly. The pop lipsticks are still lightweight, but you get more hours out of them before you need more swipes.
Yes, I really loved when they debuted the Pop formula over a decade ago. It was so good, and I like this new version/reformulation of it. I've had so many different formulas from the brand, and this satin formula is always my favorite. (I do love the chubbies though) I used to have every shade they made in the chubby line up. In both the regular and Intense versions. I even had some of the limited edition shades!
@@thelipstickgal Strangely, I find the Chubby Sticks to be both drying and short-lived on my lips. I am fond of the Super Strawberry shade, as it's really close to my lip tone, but Mega Melon seems to keep showing up in "kits" I buy, LOL!
I just can't get over spending $25 plus for the "balmy" formulas that I could literally apply hourly - they just disappear so quickly on me, even if all I'm doing is talking or breathing. For those, I'm going drugstore.
I think that the drugstore has some good options, but I'm a sucker for more nuanced colors than I can get at the drugstore. That's why I end up with so many of these more expensive versions of glossy lip balms.
Guerlain has made such a poor choice in redoing the components. The whole point is that we bought something we could reuse for years. I'm not buying the new ones. I'm just terribly disappointed by them.
I totally understand. I'm so disappointed in the choice to change the packaging. Such a bummer. I love the formula and the component, but now I have 3 different versions of the lipsticks that don't work together. I wish they had done what Dior did. Dior repackaged and reformulated their lipsticks, but the refills fit into the old packaging, and vice versa. That's what I want to see from every brand. I am 30+ and I can no longer wear the MAC matte lipsticks, so drying. They feel super uncomfortable.
Have you tried this new MACximal Matte formula? It's so much more comfortable than the older matte and retro matte formula. My lips are doing much better with this formula than previous ones. It's a new reformulation/release for 2024.

It's really arrogant of Guerlain to piss off their loyal customers. Why did they choose to punish the people who already bought a lot of their lipsticks. If they believe they make more money thus, then good luck. A cap the price of a high-end lipstick isn't worth it for me

I actually pull the bullets out of newer lipsticks and fit them into the old packaging. I have done that for some of my older (plain silver and magnetic packaging) Guerlain Rouge G lipsticks. That's how I dress up a beautiful affordable formula with luxe packaging. It doesn't always work perfectly, but . . . I keep trying.
