@PedalExperiments you're welcome! I felt foolish trying to read and make sense of the instructions, and not being able to get it to work, so much appreciated for the simplification, it's ridiculously easy to use, had a lot of fun yesterday with it, and all thanks to yourself! Champ! 😎
This delay is so close to being good enough- but it doesn't quiet hit the mark. The tap tempo is a bit awkward- like you pointed out in the description. But, that I could live with- I don't do a lot of dotted 8th stuff anyway and I can always save the tempo want to favorites. I doubt IN would need more than once in a live performance so- that would work. It's the fact that you have no wet/dry mix to adjust- which means I can't put my reverb after it. I like putting reverb after delay so the repeats have the reverb I choose on them- but if I do that with this pedal there's a pause between when I pick a note and when I hear it- it's less than a second but, it makes playing impossible- and it doesn't pick up the reverb sound anyway. If I put it last in line- no issues, if I put it anywhere else in the signal path- it does weird things. Plus- like you said- it makes the reverse a lot less fun to play with. They need some way to adjust dry/wet signal. According to the "Rig Doctor" that's why I'm having this issue with the pause- I need more dry signal. I assume he means I need more of the actual unaffected signal to go through and not be effected by the delay- right? Oh- and one thing you didn't demonstrate was how to turn tails on or off- you just put it in bypass mode and hold down the left switch until you see the led flash on the right side- what's weird though is that red is on- green is off.
Thanks for that thorough breakdown of these issues! Yes, you're absolutely right. This pedal could have been a 10/10 for me if they'd only tweaked a COUPLE of small details. It's really annoying. I'm hoping to demo their newer, DuoTime pedal very soon, so I'm hoping that one fixes a lot of the problems that this pedal has. Thanks again!
@@DSPsWifesBF Exactly what I said- when I pick the note, instead of hearing it immediately- a second or two passes and then- there it is. Believe it or not, that's not how a delay is supposed to work. A delay records what you play, literally speaking, and plays it back at whatever time you've set it to do so- but the initial note is not delayed or modified. But I've already fixed the issue- bought a much better delay. The Keely Caverns reverb and delay- it's awesome.
@@mkteku Yes- the Keeley Caverns- great reverb/delay. It's an analogue delay though- no digital option on it. I still need a good digital delay- I'm going with the Boss DD3T. It's the DD3 with tap tempo added. Vai used a DD3, Satriani, The Edge, and countless other artists. So, I'm pretty sure it will work for me.
After I got it, I started not getting any sound while playing. Clear sound when off. but when I press the bypass footswitch, there is no sound. What did I break? Can you help?
i have this. anyone know why i should also get the Donner Island Delay? Great vid btw-gonna repeat for instruction later i think as much info and clearly detailed.
Well, the older version did, and it wouldn't be much of a preset if it forgot your settings every time you turned it off...but no, I guess I'm not 100%. More like 90%, I guess.
@@PedalExperiments hi, still have one doubt, does the favorite setting saves the delay mode with the delay speed, or does it save the delay speed only?
Sure thing! There are a few different styles of delay, though. So I'll give you a couple of recommendations for each type... *Digital delay:* Flamma FS03, Mooer D7. *Analog delay:* Electro Harmonix Memory Boy, TC Electronic Bucket Brigade. *Tape echo:* Nu-X Tape Core Deluxe, DemonFX Tape Echo. Try searching second hand listings on Reverb and eBay to get the lowest prices! Hope that helps?
I would have bought this pedal if the tap mode remained in tap mode and didn't switch back to favorite mode. I have to tap tempo for every song, and I never use favorites, so I'm better off with a delay with dedicated tap tempo.
I just noticed there is no infinite delay when feedback is all the way up in Mod, Reverse and Filter mode..all the rest of the modes are infinite delay 🤔
I mainly bought it because I was curious, and I wanted to film a demo of it. But it's just not as good as my DD-8, so it had to go to fund other pedals...
Very nice video ! Was always curious about picking one up and seeing how the stereo ping pong sounded. The analog mode is pretty decent and the tape is nice for sure for what price point it is at. Mod is great but I wish you had some control on how much or little mod you have.
@@PedalExperiments Have you ever checked out the TC electronics Nova delay? It's the one to beat imo- unbelievable delay for the money. It has a digital display, endless sub divisions, it's a trip for the price.
Hi, yes I've demoed that on my channel before. It sounds fantastic, but I also had some issues with it, unfortunately. Such as the awkward power requirement, vague controls, lack of features for the size, plus a few other, minor things. You should go watch it!
Hello Felipe, your pedal trail works for favorite channel? Here for me it works only if I don't turn off favorite, If I turn favorite off I lost the function, for the normal bank it works as desired.
Yeah, very slightly. Barely noticeable, but definitely there if you're listening for it. I can see that being a deal-breaker for some people, but it doesn't bother me personally.
D-Seed 2 is a great pedal...except for two things: Yes, it has stereo ins, but your stereo input signal is summed to mono and stays that way...not cool. Second...the dry signal is not centered in ping-pong mode...it's panned to the side. Odd. Big bummers, but still a valid delay pedal.
Yup... the two things I dislike about it. As a mono delay, I don't mind it at all... my favorite delay is the Eventide Rose as it sounds like (what I remember anyway) the Lexicon PCM 42. This little beast isn't that, but it's fun...
Two switches, bur none is a dedicated tap tempo. What a bummer. "Let's put the least useful feature as default and give them just a short time window to use the most useful, but really cumbersome to access, feature and say 'hey, at least it has tap tempo'".
I have this one.... what i can say is this is the best delay you can find.... 1. it's cheap 2. it has 8 type of sound 3. it is two delay pedal in one pedal 4. it has tap tempo 5. it is stereo 6. it has pingpong mode 7. it has looper 8. it build like a tank. 9. it looks good 10. it sounds good there you go 10 reasons from me hahaha....
Hi again! No, I'm afraid I don't know about that. It's been a year, though. At this point I'd recommend just picking one up and trying it out for yourself. If you don't like it, you can always return it or sell it on. 👍
Thank you so much for this video manual, it helped me a lot! All the best and have a glorious day!
You're most welcome! Glad it helped.
Thanks!
The tap tempo issue is the same with the Aquarius. Bugs me so bad.
Thankyou from all the people that found the instruction manual incomprehensible! I'm having words to joyo, you should write their manual instructions!

if you move the type knob while a loop is playing, does the loop stop or can you add delays over top then switch back to the looper?
