As many of you know, SmallAnt posted a video a while ago about playing a pokemon game with only shinies. I saw this video and wanted to try this myself with my favorite pokemon game: Platinum. I've also seen many videos on this subject, but with adjustments such as increased shiny odds, renegade etc. not that there is a problem with that ofc. i wanted to finish pokemon platinum with only shinies (full odds) and i succeeded. It went like this...
Also pokemon brilliant diamond and shining pearl are just around the corner. I am so excited and cant wait!

as a full odds hunter i am equal parts disgusted and thoroughly amazed that this dude gave up on a hunt which is cardinal sin number 1 in our scene, and then the game GIFTED HIM THE STEELIX ANYWAY

Finally I found someone who does it with full odds. I never understood the point in PokeTubers doing these types of vids when they change the rate to make it so much easier. Literally makes the video pointless. Props to you dude, this deserves way more views.
As if this guy gets a free pass, he's using speed up on an emulator, almost makes it just as pointless as full odds.

@The_Great_One I would argue against that actually. Because he's still doing the same amount of resets as a full odds hunt the difference is that he isn't sitting there wasting time on the game loading which is understandable but you can't deny he put in the work for each shiny
@@i_are_bobo Sure he's doing the same amount of resets but the time spent on each reset is significantly shorter to the point where it may as well be way way lower than full odds (1/8192).

Game speed increases amount to nothing because there’s no point in the hunt where you’re guaranteed a shiny, you’d just be making the hunt a bit more bearable to sit down through long sessions. You could theoretically go to 70K encounters and still get no shiny, and as a matter of fact, this happened to SupremeRK9, who went 70K for a registeel he spent months finding.
I really appreciate this, every time I see people pumping out these types of videos day after day I feel no Heart or effort and yet when I find that one saint that does it legitimately is really heartwarming, thank you

My very first shiny was a full odds budew in platinum. I wasn’t hunting it, I actually had only learned what shiny Pokémon were a few weeks prior. That was about 10 years ago but I remember it very clearly. I evolved it into a roseade AND I still have it, it’s on my platinum still. Got it right above the town where you get eggs
ohh u got it in Eterna forest? Congrats on the Budew! Most ppl remember their first shiny which is really cool. My first shiny was a Graveler in Platinum, victory Road. It didnt explode tho.. thank god.
Imagine having that kinda luck... not a single hunt over odds and few over half odds.. leave some luck for other people :P

I know this video is old, but if you really wanted to avoid the self destructing graveler, you could've caught a psyduck/golduck with the ability damp. It prevents pokemon on the field from self destructing
true, but i could only use shiny pokemon, so then i had to catch a shiny psyduck/golduck with damp haha.

Stupid question but only recently got platinum (my first pokemon game), why do u reset after every encounter?
cause the odds of u finding a shiny is 1/8192. if your starter pokemon is not shiny, u can reset (restart the game) until it is shiny.

This might be a little opinionated, but I personally think using speed up makes it not full odds, you still have the same odds but multiplying the speed then multiplies the time it takes to get it. Which in the terms of a video I understand, but don’t claim it’s completely full odds when you’re just gonna speed it up to 5-6x speed and get like 40 resets in a minute cause that’s definitely not a real full odds
But it's still full odds tho 😅 u just said it.. "u still have the same odds." U can not claim it as "not full odds hunting" cause it is. What u just said is a opinion. Everybody has their own opinion about this type of stuff and i totally understand where you coming from tho.
Still full odds. Stop crying. Also you commented this also 1.5 years after the upload date. So there was literally no reason to share you opinion.
@@ThomasSeeds full odds is not full odds if you’re altering the amount of time it takes in order to hunt. Speeding up a hunt makes it a non legitimate shiny, you can literally ask ANYONE In the hunting community whether they consider sped up shinys full odds or not. Furthermore, if the 1.5 years later mattered, why would he have replied directly to me? Bozo lmao

DraStic is pretty good
you can use different emulators, but most ppl use desmume. most of the times it works!
I think DraStic is the better one if you re playing on your phone

I’d like to see you have to shiny hunt at 1/8192 odds every route and then have to watch it die then have to release it
@@PawMaster first of all I do a death box, I don't release dead pokemon unless I accidentally catch a pokemon on route where I already got an encounter. Second of all I would happily attempt that but I don't have any way of recording footage on a 3DS or on a Switch so I could do it I just wouldn't have any proof so no one would believe me.
