I view it as a combination of Stardew Valley and Farming Simulator. It's a great idea, because Farming Sim is often criticized for being "sterile" and lifeless, and this game really seems to address those criticisms.
However I'm still very cautions because the developers are completely unproven. It's unfortunate for the developers of this game, but many other farming games have been a complete mess at launch (Farm Expert, Professional Farmer, Real Farm etc.) which has given the entire genre a bad rep. In many cases, the games have also been abandoned in an unfinished (often unplayable) state, then some time later the developer pops up with a new game and expects everyone to pay again.
Stardew valley in my view does not really fit in the same area this and farming simulator do stardew is more of a harvest moon / innocent life simulation as both of those are more manual where fs17 and this rely on machinery
ᴇʟᴀᴛᴇ Yeah it's the same publisher but a different developer. Still it should be said this publisher doesn't exactly have a stellar track record. I have Farm Expert 2017 and I agree the engine is fine. Better than Farming Simulator 17 in some ways (though the game itself is very rough around the edges). The terrain deformation is pretty impressive. There's some popping but I think the game itself and lack of optimization is to blame rather than the engine.
Sounds very promising to me. Or will there be mods for the game, cause lets be honoust, that is what makes Farming Simulator a succes.
Pro farmer, farm expert did also promising a lot.. But its still a death cow.

Ending early access in February seems incredibly optimistic. Making such a statement in such an early stage of development of such an ambicious game makes me very sceptical. Although i do hope they have success! I just hope they didn't set the bar too high for themselves, especially since they seem to be an unexperienced company.
Thank you for the news about this game, truly looking forward to it. My idea, live auctions. Everything from animals to equipment. Young or old, new or used sales would make this game even more dynamic. Thanks for time and effort!

I tried to get this game on Steam but I can not find it in the store any idea why?
this is a game of personal experience. I have made many videos of me playing the game but the jobs are so time consuming it is not a game that you can make presentable to an audience. much like Edgar Allen Poe's Pit and the Pendulum as a full length movie unabridged and no roger corman edits!(Prisoner survival sim anyone) but a lot of empty time. I love the game though. and will try an abridge job when I find the time to edit out the middle bits. Take the bus to go looking for jobs then get a vehicle to "warp" to in every region.

3:00 4:00 sounds like GIANTS's FARMING SIMULATOR gameplay: teleport as machine , help (phone in FS, here NPC). Farmer Destiny (aka FD) adds hungry needs, repairing tasks and NPC contact (instead of quest pannel in FS)., in FD, social gameplay is better idea.

I will wait until it leaves early access to a full complete game before I decide to buy it. To many Early access games stay that way for years then get abandoned. I am interested to see if this ever gets released as a full game.

I hope this farming simulator doesn't end the same way the other ones did. Farm Expert, Pro Farm, Real Farm, Professional Farmer, Real Farm were all left in an unfinished state, and yet the team behind each game just abandons the version they're working on and start developing a new one which will also be left in an unfinished state. None of them were actually finished.
thank god they are going to add helpers. hopefully they will be able to plow and till the fields because damn. so much for the game not being a chore lol
I have high hopes for this game. Having said that, I have several concerns. First, what you read from the developers was published three weeks ago - there has been very little feedback from them since that time. Second, it sounds like they didn't reply back to your inquiries, either - which is odd, as they provided you with a copy to share with us, your viewers. Third, full price for early access? "Eternally grateful" for a full priced game that is still in development, has bugs, and may never develop? I'll pass on paying for gratefulness.
Today's the day it comes out (here in the Colonies!) - pricing will determine if I pick it up today, and provide feedback that hopefully the developers listen to - or let it sit and watch your vids on it!
December 14th is my birthday, interesting. I'm going to take this game with a grain of salt, I'll try it out, but I play games - simulators to escape reality, not to immerse myself into some "social game" if that is what this is. I'm sorry, but I've had enough of the mob mentality of social networks and such, so I'll stick with my "sterile" FS17 thank you. Great video, as usual, Daggerwin, but not sure this is my "cup of tea," so to speak, but nothing against you just so you understand. I've got people up my posterior all day long whining about this or that, and complaining about this person or the other, so I'm more of a loner type who likes to run away from reality every now and then in my chosen games. Most are FPS games because they relieve stress, LoL, as you can imagine, but keep up the good work, love your vids.

Hmm. Are they really able to develop a game from an beta state (early access) into a production ready product (official release) in only 2,5 month (release end of February).
The fact that they send you an early copy to test, but did not reply on questions that might already been answered somewhere on a forum, does not constitute as a developer that really want feedback. It's also possible that you're liaison is very bad at his (her) job..
A good liaison would have just send you a link to the article if a question has already been answered.
The most important feature for any simulator, is it's ability to be modded. It is the modding community that can raise a simulator platform to new heights..

According to the steam page it costs 27 euro up till december 21st. After that date it they will ask 30 euro.
Sounds like they are marketing hard now to sell alot of early access so they can cash out and ditch the game. If so its not the first time that happens. But lets wait and see.

A year and 3 months onward not a lot of those ambitious plans have come to fruition, which is mostly par for the course for Early Access games from publishers with bad track records.
I wouldn't consider this to be anything even remotely like The Sims, which has very complex social interactions. This is so simplistic that The Simpsons is more realistic. ;) Heck, Stardew Valley has more possibilities, and at least its interactions are charming, not embarrassingly inept. I shudder to think of what the romance is going to be like judging from the accoutrements like rings and chocolates (nobody whose series I am watching has progressed that far). Seriously, the devs should hire at least a native English speaker to check their dialog, but this goes way deeper than language problems.
I like the IDEA of this game because I like life simulators a bit better than equipment simulators, but the execution looks bad. It seems so tedious, with no skill path to better repair abilities; the 10th greenhouse you have to painstakingly grind down takes just as long as the first. The social interactions have a tiny dialog tree, and that makes them boring past the initial encounter. Not to mention the lack of a female player avatar and non-standard choices for social association; it feels like this is an 80s game with devs who don't realize all sorts of different people play games. Heck, the horrible animations and character behaviour place it in the same decade. ;) “Them devs,” I say, “what are they thinking? Let them come live with us for a week, they’ll see what a real life is.”
But none of that is your fault, of course. In fact I really like your wry presentation style, and will subscribe for other series. I thank you for giving me a pretty solid feel for the game; enough to spare me paying $30+ -- I'll buy it next time Steam has it on deep discount because it'll be good for a few hours of fun at that.

Bram van Gelder It reminds me of Stardew Valley. My brothers play it and love it. My older brother won’t play FS17 because he says it isn’t a ‘game’. I will show him this and see if he finds the RPG elements more of a ‘game’ than FS17.

Its the most stupid thing to do.. Asking money for a game thats still in early access.. Whats going to happen if plans are changing on this game.. Money lost..
Best thing to do is wait till the game is finished and there are some positive reviews on steam.. I think this game also going to be joke on the long run.. They have to much plans.. But i really want to see if they can fullfill this.
