- Awakening vs Succession in Manshaum Forest 20 Shaman Rotation.
Awakening is definitely catching up to succession (at least in PvE), mostly thanks to the new years eve buffs. Apart from the fact that I messed up some packs in the succession pov here, you can definitely see how close their clearing speeds are now, and yeah the awakening buffs aren't even over yet lol.
I only go to this rotation to hunt for the potion piece, I'm pretty sure this isn't the rotation to go if you want the best money/h.
Both were done @261 AP Kutum, with 324 DP.
Buffs were exquisite cron meal and villa buff.

Maehwa Awakening is so beautiful. i don't care if it's bad it has so much charism.
In respect to your description, the only buffs im aware of that we are missing is the cloud stab and Tip of the iceberg ones. The others are all pvp related, minus the BON skill which doesnt impact pve at all. So what you see is what you can expect.
I do believe awakening is getting closer but still not quite there. Maybe in some areas like this due to RB Red Moon cd being a little long and dbite hitbox being on the narrow side. But I think you might be able to speed up succession more.
In a place like this, I basically spam FBT > Decap > ssf and RB Red Moon when its available. Stigma, Blooming, RB carver and RB Dbite occasionally for clean up. Also using Blooming step alot helps for jumping off small cliffs, dp shreds and some aoe dmg.
With awakening, you might of been able to abuse NYE after skills like Drill > NYE, and Petal Bloom > moonlight dash > NYE also Frost Pillar > NYE but not Tip of the iceberg, ultimately reducing the skills needed per pack and speeding it up as well.
Edit: last note, in both kits u didnt use Ultimate Maehwas Will rabam for easy vaccums and I didnt notice awakening oppression either however that was harder to tell for sure. This is important for areas like this as both kits rely alot on stack mobs for efficiency. I wanted to point this out as I know you do a few of these comparisons and it will help with future content.

Yeah I did mention that I messed up the succession pov due to me not using the exact skills you mentioned xD
When I said awakening might get additional buffs I meant buffs that we currently do not know of in the future, say like certain pve knockbacks being removed like what they did to awakening ranger, certain cds being shortened, etc.

maybe the stamina and wp consumption is the only thing that limites awakening of being as good as succession, and the fact that red blade buffs allows succ to do great damage to high end mobs, i think that a buff aimed to end game in awakening will be the solution
Agreed.
Awakening is one of the most broken classes in high end with the New Year’s Eve change.
Maehwa Succession doesn't make sense to me, awk

I actually prefer succ coz to me its faster and then when i use combos a striker/beserker can't just come at me and grab me since your main weapon attacks your character is hidden but for pve i use awk coz of the ability to spam high dmg moves

whats the new pve combo in hystria with NYE buff?
I personally do: Q block > Royal rage > C swap to the right > Blind thrust > Dragon bite > Red moon > C swap > Oppression > Petal drill > Moonrise > Frost pillar > NYE Spam > Petal Bloom > Moonlight Dash. Most would be dead depending on your ap, just use sticky > moonrise OR NYE spam to kill leftovers.
This makes use of 2 new flows: Petal drill into moonrise and frost pillar into new years eve. It works for me :D Might change in the future when tip of the iceberg gets buffed, but right now NYE is better to use than iceberg since it doesn't lock you in an animation.

At the moment succession is still better. But yeah they are a lot closer now than they are a while ago.

Pretty much.
For 1v1 then yes awake has the advantage.
For large scale I think both succ and awake are viable.
