    This is a valid cooking method, and I'm going to do it this afternoon so that I have potatoes to make homemade gnocchi. But these are not baked potatoes. These are basically the same thing as boiled whole potatoes, or steamed potatoes. You get the same exact product if you were to wrap them in aluminum foil and bake them in the oven. Baking is done with dry heat, this is done with steam. Also, a properly baked potato should have a crisp skin on the outside which is why properly baked potatoes are hollowed out so I have to make twice baked potatoes. The skins have to be sturdy enough to hold up while you scoop out the flesh.

    20 minutes seems reasonable. I saw one video that said 12, but my potatoes were still hard in the middle. I'm going to try this way instead. Thanks for the video!

      Hmm, that does seem too much for the instant pot. I can do that in a pot on the stove for less than that amount of time. I thought the instant pot would get it done quicker. I'll have to give it a try and find out for myself. I'm still new at this and looking for recipes.

    I tried this as my first recipe but the three potatoes were still a little hard so put them in for another ten and they were perfect
    What might l have done wrong?

      Air fryers differ and mine must run hotter then yours. Also, some potatoes are bigger and tougher and take longer to cook :) Great that you figured out the time that works well for your air fryer!

    I think potatoes turn out better in the instant pot rather than the air fryer. More moist.

      I prefer the air fryer for crispy skin 😀 But yes, the instant pot ones are more moist. It’s nice to have options!

  • @muzikmon2267
    @muzikmon2267 2 роки тому

    TECHNICALLY YOU'RE SAYING IT TAKES 30 MINUTES!! Why is that quick not even close to quick.
    After 20 minutes if you're letting the pressure release naturally that adds another 10 minutes of cooking.
    Quicker in the microwave, I think quicker if you do the stove version in the water.
    You would think a pressure cooker would cook them quicker.
