You nuke the boss and underlings with his NP and attack with Quick/Arts Cards for overkill- getting Crit Stars and more NP so you can repeat the process. Remember the Leonidas CQ from Gilfest 2? That's the sort of thing he's made for.
Id say he's about equally good at both roles, the NP gain and charge and AoE arts make him a top farmer. But not the best, similarly all the stuff you mentioned makes him a good CQ servant but he has to contend with Ivan and Ozy in that department who imo are better

I believe that you made a mistake. You said that Odysseus' NP removes offensive buffs, when it's actually defensive ones, and it does that *before* the damage itself.

I've been on a Metroid love recently, so I was really considering rolling for him. But after Sober Oni's review, as well as the fact Odysseus is Non-Limited, I gotta pass and save for Caenis, hoping I'll still have enough to roll for Kama on the Ooku Rerun.

Oydessus isn't the best servant that comes out this year in fact I probably shouldn't be so excited for him but he's the number one servant I want this year my connection to the Illiad and the Oydessy makes him special to me good luck to everyone rolling for him I hope his summoning goes better than Sei's
Always remember: permanent SSRs are never going to be as optimal as limited ones. You can bet if he was limited his NP charge would be 50% OR he would have a party wide 20% on his first skill. He would probably have a crit damage buff or base attack buff on his skill OR maybe a secondary NP damage up (that last one time, 3 turns) on his third skill [considering he literally put the Aegis on the horse] to maximize his fire power. I wonder if he will get a buff somewhere down the line. Best bet is a simple damage buff on his NP!

Ozymandias is permanent so instead of giving him massive crit buffs, he gets terrain-based ones, and the enabler is the NP. On paper, it means you have to sacrifice a turn of damage to get better performance. Of course, in practice, it’s very inconsequential. Designs are always going to have their limits^^
Poor Odysseus, he would probably get a higher grade if Da Vinci Lily wasn't around. As of now, unless you are in a CQ and you need to remove enemy defensive buffs, I don't see why you would bring this guy over her anytime.
Even his niche is not something exclusive to him, Kiara does something similar with her NP that has ignore defense and Pierce invul, against unremovable defense buffs Kiara is better, against long lasting defensive buffs Odysseus is better.
As someone with no Castoria, my QP farming is carried by Da Vinci Lily, Odysseus, and whatever Bella Lisa-equipped Rider supports are available. Great team for three turns no Castoria

Yeah, Odysseus is an easy pass for me. I read the Odyssey and I have Circe in my Chaldea. (Odysseus cheated on Penelope several times and was willing to stay and live out the rest of his days on Circe's Island until Hermes had to remind him that his wife that was going to get remarried because she believed and accepted that he had died at sea.) So yeah, he's an easy hard pass for me. Plus, I do believe Penelope and Circe deserved better than what they got from Odysseus. Also, I already have a crap ton of good Riders, so I'd really don't need him. Good luck everyone else who will be rolling for him.
You know cheating in that time had a different meaning, you cant just judge with the modern eyes of judgment. If i remember correctly he had sexual relationship with circe because she made a deal to be her lover so she can free his crew, and calipso had sex with him but against his will. Am pretty sure he had sex with other girls to release his urges but his love for phenelope was real. After all the whole story is about surviving the journey and returning home .Thats why he is my favorite greek hero, Because he is a survivor and resisted a ton hell of tempations that any man would fall, sure he had helps from the gods,after all he was the only hero that was full human and not divine, his only weapon was his cunning.

Kept trying to roll for Morgan yesterday and pulled Odysseus out of the blue. I like his mech look but I want my waifu Morgan! lol I’m a returning player and got a few lucky pulls up until now. I think I’ll still roll with Ivan, Ozy and Quetzalcoatl. Achilles I need to level his skills
Odysseus biggest flaw is his role like Oni you've said. He has one of the best NP effect that defense buff removal* (Oni you said offense, stop looking at Odysseus doujins while making his video) prior to damage which is build for CQs but his main job is a farmer. However, his semi-support role can boost his rating higher so he A- I would say. That 30% boost to np damage at 100% charge also helps with his np damage output.
I agree with that, I was actually flip flopping between an A- and B+ the whole time. I'll put down the Odysseus doujins, but no promises for the Carnis doujins when her spotlight comes
He spooked me with rainbow sparks while I was rolling for Kama. I did get Kama afterwards so I'm not mad, I just have no idea what to do with him. I already have other solidly strong units for farming and CQs alike, so he's... rather redundant, but I don't think I should burn him either? Hopefully there will be fights in the future with niches against which he can shine, like a non-Assassin boss with constant charm or an event where he gets bonus damage or something...

I have checked a lot of videos of people using Odysseus and they all seem to be np1, I have him np2 great but now I have no quartz or summoning tickets and this is the year we get castoria, Damm however we have 26 events until we get castoria that equals time and mats plus from what I remember somewhere we in the future we get A LOT of Saint quartz before castoria comes

I _was_ considering rolling for Odysseus, but your Review managed to convince me that it might not really be worth it. Specially since I just searched up and he is not a Limited Servant, nor a Story-Locked one. So I'll always have a chance to get spooked by him, just like Europa and Xiang Yu. Nah, I'd rather save my Quartz for Caenis. She's coming along with the Dioscuri twins, but unlike the latter, *she is Limited.* So bet your damn ass I'm gonna get her one way or another!
Im actually the opposite. I was going to pass but this review made me reconsider because of his side utilities. As for Caenis, its an easy pass for me because there's a summer version in the future.
I'm sorry but this video is kindof misleading to Odysseus's true usage and potential He's good for farming yes, but surprisingly he's extremely specialized in Challenge quests and boss fights And there's actually a lot more CE's to put on him because he's a lot flexible than people think Maybe it's because at Np1 he is pretty weak and probably needs a np buff. But all the defensive buff, taunt gimmick, a spammable np that removes defensive buffs, he's often overlooked because future pickups are just too op
I haven't used him even on my new jp account. But from all the skills that was described, he feels like more of a cq unit. Great utility in his kit. Won't roll for him though. Caenis is my priority
He definitly also has CQ and boss fight viability, but he runs into the same issue in that there are better alternatives like Ozy and Ivan. But he is a tremendously versatile servant

Let's do keep in mind that the Odysseus was perfectly content with staying on Circe's Island until he heard that news from Hermes that Penelope have accepted his death and was going to marry another. Meaning of that he was about to lose everything because his wife have finally decided to move on with her life. You didn't relieve Circe's Island because you love Penelope, he loves Circe's Island because he loves his title and possessions more. At least Rama never cheated on Sita.

You know cheating in that time had a different meaning, you cant just judge with the modern eyes of judgment. If i remember correctly he had sexual relationship with circe because she made a deal to be her lover so she can free his crew, and calipso had sex with him but against his will. Am pretty sure he had sex with other girls to release his urges but his love for phenelope was real. After all the whole story is about surviving the journey and returning home .Thats why he is my favorite greek hero, Because he is a survivor and resisted a ton hell of tempations that any man would fall, sure he had helps from the gods,after all he was the only hero that was full human and not divine, his only weapon was his cunning.

You may mention it at some point in the video, but how do you think a NP1 Odysseus compares to a NP1 Mordred when it comes to farming? It'll be a while til I can level him so I'm just curious.

Odysseus is the better farmer since he has much better NP gain and can benefit from Castoria, Mordred is the better DPS though

Kept trying to roll for Morgan yesterday and pulled Odysseus out of the blue. I like his mech look but I want my waifu Morgan! lol I’m a returning player and got a few lucky pulls up until now. I think I’ll still roll with Ivan, Ozy and Quetzalcoatl. Achilles I need to level his skills
Odysseus biggest flaw is his role like Oni you've said. He has one of the best NP effect that defense buff removal* (Oni you said offense, stop looking at Odysseus doujins while making his video) prior to damage which is build for CQs but his main job is a farmer. However, his semi-support role can boost his rating higher so he A- I would say. That 30% boost to np damage at 100% charge also helps with his np damage output.
I agree with that, I was actually flip flopping between an A- and B+ the whole time. I'll put down the Odysseus doujins, but no promises for the Carnis doujins when her spotlight comes

He spooked me with rainbow sparks while I was rolling for Kama. I did get Kama afterwards so I'm not mad, I just have no idea what to do with him. I already have other solidly strong units for farming and CQs alike, so he's... rather redundant, but I don't think I should burn him either? Hopefully there will be fights in the future with niches against which he can shine, like a non-Assassin boss with constant charm or an event where he gets bonus damage or something...

I have checked a lot of videos of people using Odysseus and they all seem to be np1, I have him np2 great but now I have no quartz or summoning tickets and this is the year we get castoria, Damm however we have 26 events until we get castoria that equals time and mats plus from what I remember somewhere we in the future we get A LOT of Saint quartz before castoria comes

That aside, okay. I _was_ considering rolling for Odysseus, but your Review managed to convince me that it might not really be worth it. Specially since I just searched up and he is not a Limited Servant, nor a Story-Locked one. So I'll always have a chance to get spooked by him, just like Europa and Xiang Yu.
Nah, I'd rather save my Quartz for Caenis. She's coming along with the Dioscuri twins, but unlike the latter, *she is Limited.* So bet your damn ass I'm gonna get her one way or another!
Im actually the opposite. I was going to pass but this review made me reconsider because of his side utilities. As for Caenis, its an easy pass for me because there's a summer version in the future.

I'm sorry but this video is kindof misleading to Odysseus's true usage and potential
He's good for farming yes, but surprisingly he's extremely specialized in Challenge quests and boss fights
And there's actually a lot more CE's to put on him because he's a lot flexible than people think
Maybe it's because at Np1 he is pretty weak and probably needs a np buff. But all the defensive buff, taunt gimmick, a spammable np that removes defensive buffs, he's often overlooked because future pickups are just too op
I haven't used him even on my new jp account. But from all the skills that was described, he feels like more of a cq unit. Great utility in his kit. Won't roll for him though. Caenis is my priority
He definitly also has CQ and boss fight viability, but he runs into the same issue in that there are better alternatives like Ozy and Ivan. But he is a tremendously versatile servant

So basically a more CQ Oriented Rider Da Vinci, that does more damage in wave 1 and 2 but will get outdamage during the 3rd wave and doesn't have as steady refund as her ?

Let's do keep in mind that the Odysseus was perfectly content with staying on Circe's Island until he heard that news from Hermes that Penelope have accepted his death and was going to marry another. Meaning of that he was about to lose everything because his wife have finally decided to move on with her life.
You didn't relieve Circe's Island because you love Penelope, he loves Circe's Island because he loves his title and possessions more.
At least Rama never cheated on Sita.
