I first visited Puerto Galera in March/April 2009 and stayed in Rebekah apartments at the far end. Upon returning last June these seem to have vanished, or maybe I was on another White beach? Then again a lot can change in a 15 year hiatus.

That was a long time ago, but yea a lot can happen in that time span. Especially that the government is doing a beautification project in the area and unfortunately that means illegal establishments are gonna be also gone, but hopefully it will make it a lot better.
