Managed to squeeze a bit of extra performance out of the Performance preset, while also increasing image quality a bit more (reduced ghosting drastically). I focused on the performance preset specifically for Steam Deck & low end hardware. Just letting people know who are watching this in the future
Wtf if a mod can squeeze 34% more fps(oh wait, it can squeeze even more, with the other file), then how did they even optimize the game? This is why games on steam shouldn't be recommended if the games experience on pc is bad, i see so many reviews say how performance is bad but still recommend it because the game is "good", even jedi survivor never got less than mixed really, was negative but only for a short time, and now its mostly positive because of patch 9(and the ps4 version runs better than any port) This is why we will never get a good port to pc with most games, even game settings are nowhere near as adaptive as they used to be, low doesn't look much different than medium in most games, I'm not saying graphics have to look worse, but why can't we get settings as low as these mods? The only game that did this that I know of is The Last of us, with its "lowest" preset
Unreal engine 5 uses the lumen effect for global illuminations and lighting in this game. It's very heavy on the gpu just like ray tracing , dx11 mode disables some of these effects that helps in easing out the load . The thing is, you'll notice these visual enhancements when you play the game on a high end pc / big display that has the juice to handle the load. On a small display, these visual enhancements are simply lost in the background. It's a very atmospheric game, nowadays , the developers aren't targeting low end hardware at all. Expect this to become a norm as more and more developers are shifting to unreal Engine 5 . Halo devs being the recent one.
@@GamingDJ4u I know, I understand, my question though is why, do the lowest settings not allow us to disable this kind of stuff? At least if they allowed you to do it manually from the files, it would be something, but most lock it all down Having to use dx11 to do this by default, is also a negative in itself depending on the PC components and whether your CPU or GPU is struggling or not By the way, can you make a video on the ultra performance mod preset? Thanks for replying
Yeah you're right, modern AAA games are really very poorly optimised, no doubt about it . One reason for it is the developers not meeting the deadline. Publishers forcing an early release for the games . I still remember the launch state of assassin's creed unity, Arkham knight, just cause 3 , cyberpunk 2077 etc. They were completely broken lol. Ultra performance preset enables the potato mode, half of the game world will be missing (rendered in front of you upon reaching) and no fog which makes it look like a debug view.
@@GamingDJ4u i want to knwo if its gotten better with the mod. the updates should help and hybreds page on nexus says he squeezed some more out of the performance preset.
@@GamingDJ4uI have the SD Oled , is there anything I need to set in the launch options? Currently I have the launch options from your other video including the -dx11.

have there been updates?
I put your video on the mod page. Good video!
Doing my part 🙏
@Hybred Is there any way you can make the mod run even better on deck? Would dx11 increase fps?
@@shodanargie1574 Newest update improves performance even more for the Performance & Ultra Performance preset specifically :)
@@Hybred has there been a new patch after 1.04? performance fsr seems a bit too low tho
yo thanks GamingDj it help made game very stable I already put 20+ hours with this mod my playthrough awesome! Keep up the good content
I completed the game yesterday, my play time was around 19 hours 58 minutes lol
Great video! Would this run even better if i used the 0.5x sharpening engine.ini or worse?
thank u it work

Can you retest Performance with the latest version of the game and the steam os and proton updates weve had since then??? PLEASE :)
Game's still very poorly optimised . Deck can't handle it in dx12 mode , use hybred's mod .

yo GamingDJ did you try dx11 it runs better it sadly has no fsr 3 but you can use the tsr preset mod it looks better then fsr 3
Game wasn't starting for me on steam deck with the mod installed. Mod did improve the fps stability so not a big deal.
@@GamingDJ4u ok
DX11 improves performance cause certain things are disabled, things this mod also disables, so theirs no need to use DX11 anymore
Yeah people with better hardware should try using the mod's frame generation version now that dx12 mode is more stable. Thanks hybred.
