Top tip plenty of room to pry drivers drive shaft out so do this side first and flat head head screw driver threw gear box to tap passenger shaft out light work 👍👍👍👍
Just watched this as I have part taken the gearbox out and needed to know how the gear cable linkage came out. Excellent explanation of what needs doing. I found that to get the driveshaft out you were right in pulling the gearbox forward (I used a medium length pry-bar) then used a long pry-bar leavening off the other pry-bar to get the driveshaft out. Many thanks. 👍🏽😎
Great video mate. Single handedly doing your own production and removing a gearbox at the same time is great bit of multitasking lol...keep up the good work , looking forward to part 2
i guess Im asking the wrong place but does anybody know of a way to get back into an instagram account? I somehow lost the login password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me.
@Malachi Raymond Thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and im in the hacking process atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Good video unlike some what people put on what are just a waste of time . I'm planning on doing my own connect clutch this next week not looking forward to it but needs doing . Learnt a lot watching all 3 parts look forward to more videos . Keep up the good work 👍👍👍👍
Great video production, I watched this with the intention of doing my own clutch but this video served as a warning to keep my mucky fingers off unless I want a sore back and lots of headaches 😂😂😂😂
Thanks a lot mate. It really isn't too bad. There is part of that awkward and it's certainly will take a long time. But it's definitely manageable if you just allow yourself a few days.
The best way I find for removing the nearside cv joint from the gearbox is to remove the offside driveshaft first put a long flat blade screwdriver through the diff and tap on the end of the nearside inner joint.
Hope you can help ,do you have to lock the flywheel to remove it.all my flywheel bolts are shiny silver from the clutch rubbing, dont know how or what has caused it ,but I'm unsure if the flywheel needs replacing
tip mate: to get the inner CV joint out of the gearbox. get a rope or steel cable. tie it round the joint. feed a 6 foot length out. tie the other end to a 10lb sledge hammer. lastly swing the fucker like a golf club! I try to pry the thing out on my megane like you were doing and it would take budge. but first swing with the hammer method a popped staright out!
I Have a connect van which goes a lot of miles. I need to do the timing chain . Looking at videos of this job I think it is going to be easier taking the lump out. Do you think it would be a good idea to do clutch at the same time?
Hi mate long time subscriber, it's been a while since I commented - I'm going to buy a Volvo v70 D3 2.0, around a 2011 plate - anything I should be looking out for mechanically o otherwise when I view?
hi mate just the usual really make sure the car is cold so you can see if there's any problems starting it if they warm it up before you can start it cold walk away make sure the clutch pedal isn't too hard look for service history take it for a good long test drive get everything warmed up that's all you can really do the parks that do go wrong with all modern cars you'll only know you've got a problem when they go wrong hope that helps thanks for watching
there is a easier way to get the drive shaft out the hub on these if you just undo one of the bolts holding the lower arm on there is enough movement to get the shaft out hope this little tip helps
Very good video. I have same car. Is very complication car. I have a problem with the heater. I have change thermostat drive belt, Serpentine belt drive, etc. But still don’t work. I have to drive the car for more than 30 minutes to warm up a bit. If driving on the highway reaches normal temperatures. But after I get off the highway to the local road, the temperature starts to drop to a minimum. Can you help me, what can it be ? Thank you.
Hi check the radiator fan switch and also check the temperature sensor when the temperature goes down can you put your hand somewhere on the radiator or the car to make sure it's hot what if it is hot then you've got a problem with the sensor
First of all great videos A+++ you have every detail covered.. I was wandering if you could put up a video for a timing + wet belt change on a ford galaxy 1.8 tdci. Cheers
Omer Ozdemir hi mate I've done loads of them but just haven't film One a good friend of mine has I will send you the link tell him I sent you😁😁 ua-cam.com/video/e0_g06xpn4s/v-deo.html
Another great video, for stubborn drive shafts I use a cold chisel , there great they have a wedged shape end and you can hit the other end with a hammer and they come in various lengths and thicknesses and are cheap to bye. Can I have some advice on buying a mid end ob2 reader , any ideas ?
125 SM the Delphi system is not too bad but you need a laptop to work it if you can go a bit more the Foxwell have some good scanners as well what you are really looking for is bi directional controls the more of them you can get the better
but for that sort of money unfortunately you will be limited even the ones at 10 and 15000 still don't do everything it's a minefield when it comes to scanners
Badgertronix he told me before he brought it the clutch was changed so maybe it was changed to solid I'm not sure I've seen some with and some without don't know who makes a decision it's just what I've seen
Imagine I had the exact same thing with my petrol van Absolutely bollocks, I had to take the gearbox out and do everything you did, then didn’t even have the right alignment tool for the clutch. I know your pain, I’m still working on the job
Hi mate not necessarily obviously both driveshafts have to be taken out of the gearbox differential housing but not necessarily completely out on some cars you can get away with leaving the driver side still connected to the wheel just depends on the car
Tyler Ace hi mate to be honest I never know how much a gearbox takes off the top of my head all you have to do is wait for it to come out of the whole you are filling it from then you know you at the correct level
Mr Olitor you need to watch my new video let's see if your put your money where your mouth is ua-cam.com/video/n02vKSh8oVA/v-deo.html but I already know the answer you will not
bodgit and leggit garage I'm not having a go mate I was just having a laugh, but I've checked your video out and I'm definitely up for that, just tell me how and when.
Why dose everyone struggle with the n/s drive shaft, just remove the o/s side drive shaft and knock the n/s out with a hammer and leaver bar, so simple 😀
It sucks donkey dick when CV axles get stuck like that. Last one i had that stuck there was room to get a ball joint fork in there. I thought i was going to crack the gearbox casting. Holy fuck. What a bastard. I want one of those Facom 3/8ths flexi ratchet. I have an old half inch long handled one, but its to big for some stuff. I had a Chinese one from machinemart but i broke it twice.
Top tip plenty of room to pry drivers drive shaft out so do this side first and flat head head screw driver threw gear box to tap passenger shaft out light work 👍👍👍👍
Down to earth crack and at least he explains everything as he goes to help the DIY folk

Saved my ass, that first piece popped off and you had me driving again fast. Thank you
thanks so much for these videos, they helped me greatly to take of the gearbox and repair the hydraulic clutch.
Great video mate. Single handedly doing your own production and removing a gearbox at the same time is great bit of multitasking lol...keep up the good work , looking forward to part 2
lol thanks mate
i guess Im asking the wrong place but does anybody know of a way to get back into an instagram account?

@Malachi Raymond Thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and im in the hacking process atm.

@Malachi Raymond it worked and I actually got access to my account again. I'm so happy!

bodgit and leggit garage Thanks I don’t have a garage or ramps so unless laying on the floor is good for you it’s out of my repair range I’m afraid👍
@@stevepulsar lol I've been there done that mate with Jacks on the floor on a stoney ground. It's not
Mate that Ford Sierra in the bubble looks mint. 👌
The best way I find for removing the nearside cv joint from the gearbox is to remove the offside driveshaft first put a long flat blade screwdriver through the diff and tap on the end of the nearside inner joint.
Paul P you will see in the next parts that's exactly what I did nightmare lol
Great vid mate that driveshaft cup looked a right nightmare but at least box came out easy in the end
VWDiagnostics 60 just wait till the next parts and see the nightmare I had getting it out lol
Hope you can help ,do you have to lock the flywheel to remove it.all my flywheel bolts are shiny silver from the clutch rubbing, dont know how or what has caused it ,but I'm unsure if the flywheel needs replacing
I just drilled spot welds out on bumper bar and took the full shebang out ! Engine the lot even left the n/s driveshaft in there, much easier
well dude the fll80 looks class must get one keep the good work up and any word on the transit

Great vid , look forward to part 2 pal. Loving the long 3/8 ratchet 😀
Andy Taylor yes they're at it it is cool lol everyone should have a long shiny ratchet lol

125 SM how much money are you looking to spend on a Scanner mate
About £200 ?
125 SM the Delphi system is not too bad but you need a laptop to work it if you can go a bit more the Foxwell have some good scanners as well what you are really looking for is bi directional controls the more of them you can get the better
but for that sort of money unfortunately you will be limited even the ones at 10 and 15000 still don't do everything it's a minefield when it comes to scanners
ok thanks for the info. Tony
nice work. Are you changing the dual mass flywheel as well? Have you tried a single mad conversion on one of those 1.8s?
Badgertronix hi mate there already was a solid flywheel fitted on this so didn't need to change it
bodgit and leggit garage ah wow. Never heard of a 1.8tdci without a dmf. Is that standard on these?
Badgertronix he told me before he brought it the clutch was changed so maybe it was changed to solid I'm not sure I've seen some with and some without don't know who makes a decision it's just what I've seen
What's the going rate for a garage to do a clutch repair? Like 2-3 hours labour + parts if not supplied?
8ile it all depends on the car but most modern cars you will not come near to finish the job in three hours
Imagine I had the exact same thing with my petrol van
Absolutely bollocks, I had to take the gearbox out and do everything you did, then didn’t even have the right alignment tool for the clutch. I know your pain, I’m still working on the job
Hi Pal. Where is the reverse light switch ?
Hi mate it will be on the gearbox
looking forward to part 2 and 3
thanks mate
How much should I expect to pay for a full clutch change on a 2004 connect
This might sound ridiculously stupid but both driveshafts need to be removed, right?1
Hi mate not necessarily obviously both driveshafts have to be taken out of the gearbox differential housing but not necessarily completely out on some cars you can get away with leaving the driver side still connected to the wheel just depends on the car
Hello ! Ford Transit Connect it’s a general good car ?
fantastic video as always
thanks mate
bodgit and leggit garage is that an 2008 one ?
Scott Tanner yes mate
I think we will get away with that.. yeah... or not.. haha legend
Isn’t easier by dropping the subframe??
Use a ball joint chisel i find it works
i don't know if it's mentioned in the video but could someone tell me how much gearbox i need for my connect tdci? Is 2 litres correct?
Tyler Ace hi mate to be honest I never know how much a gearbox takes off the top of my head all you have to do is wait for it to come out of the whole you are filling it from then you know you at the correct level
You made this simple job look extremely difficult 😂
Mr Olitor you need to watch my new video let's see if your put your money where your mouth is
ua-cam.com/video/n02vKSh8oVA/v-deo.html but I already know the answer you will not
bodgit and leggit garage I'm not having a go mate I was just having a laugh, but I've checked your video out and I'm definitely up for that, just tell me how and when.

Why dose everyone struggle with the n/s drive shaft, just remove the o/s side drive shaft and knock the n/s out with a hammer and leaver bar, so simple 😀
Just watch the 3 episode and that's exactly what you did. hahaha
hahahahah
I think I'll take it to the garage
ok mate
Nice one☺
Jennifer Maxwell thanks jennifer
