Very nice build, yet few questions: 1) vapor cutting membrane on the walls? 2) porch's wood on the ground? just slightly defended by the membrane - but not for the whole basement.
Hi. We use a breathable membrane on the outside of the structure to control moisture. The timbers aren’t resting on the ground they are just very close. We support them with posts that are concreted in. The membrane is a weed barrier and not designed to protect the timbers. The full deck is above ground and ventilated the only timbers that touch the floor are the bottom edge boards. The bottom boards are pressure treated and we add a second layer of oil to them to help preserve them. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
@@h4pz___8 The framing timbers are above the soil. The video isn’t clear but everything is suspended on posts that are concreted into the ground. A weed membrane is then used underneath that allows water to pass through it.
We normally ask the customer to arrange the power supply before or after installation of the garden room. We just get it powered via an extension lead to take pictures 😉 Thanks for watching. 😊
Where is the wiring for the network? Why build something from scratch and just hope that the WiFi signal comes from the main house? It is full of power outlets but the second most important connection is missing... It's a shame because the space looks nice and well done. But it's 2024, a home office needs quality internet access and I'm not going to be putting cables in plain sight or drilling holes after having done all the work.
We build as required by the customer. Sometimes we fit full entertainment systems with ceiling speakers, floor sockets for running machines, high level points for TVs and projectors, hidden conduit for future applications etc. We have many ways of adapting the building for data etc without seeing and (after thought) wiring. In this application the customer was using their own electrician after we had installed the garden room. This required some garden landscaping work first to be able to bury the power and data cables to the build. It wasn’t an oversight at all!!

muy lindo y todo pero no se como se le ocurrieron poner madera encima del suelo sin nada que los proteja, lo veo un poco ridiculo no protejer la madera 😏😏🤦🏽♂🤦🏽♂
There’s literally a concrete slab that they poured the first 2 mins of the video and most back porches are built the same way they built that small walkway there’s nothing weird abt that

I like this man's so much is building the office
great work
Thank you!
interesting. it looks like you laid the deck boards upside down with the fluted side up. I assume that was just for a different look?
For grip more than anything in England. Smooth decking here is a definite broken neck with our weather 🤣

No electrical?
Never mind, I see it now…….but when did it go in? Didn’t see any of it pre insulation or drywall?
That's real nice.
Thank you 🙏
Absolutely beautiful.
Thank you very much!

Wood layed right on the dirt is not smart. 🤦♂️🙈👎
Very true that’s exactly why we don’t do that!!!
@@ShackHouseCompany.-yq7cc Doesnt look like. You are doing plenty of other weird stuff. Amateurs.
