    So are you saying to get a better surface finish, turn filtering off? What about smoothing?

      For a better surface finish use a tighter cut tolerance. Tighter the better. If you want to use the arc filter, we tend to use a 1 to 3 ration.
      If you use the arc filter for finishing, make sure you use the “tighten line filtering tolerance”
      If you don’t want to use the arc filter then you can go into the smooth settings and “Present arcs as line segments”

    Zero RPM? You mean zero SFM?

      @@mastercam The entire tool is rotating at the same RPM, rotational velocity doesn't change based on radius. Surface speed decreases to zero at zero radius at the ball tip. It is surface speed that allows a cutting tool to remove material, cutter rotational velocity is just a knob for controling surface speed.

    explain difference when multiple surfaces involved with sharp edges (what would be best value )

    This filters affect to G187 code?

    • @mastercam
      @mastercam  4 роки тому

      In the default Haas Posts, the filter and tolerance will not directly affect the G187 output in the code. In some instances, it is desirable to have a G187 code output that does not directly correspond to the tolerance entered for the toolpath. You will still need to enter your desired G187 settings. If you would like this to occur it is entirely possible to do with a proper post-modification. Talk to your Mastercam Reseller or post developer to see if they can offer you this change. www.mastercam.com/support/technical-support/

    Try to make a more complex program with larger ranges of axis motion.

      so your recommendation is no filtering, no smoothing for surface machining on the UMC 750 SS?
