Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Finally got the planter to a state where you didn't hate it, and then immediately trade it in.
and will prob want the old one back when the new one is a cheap built pos.
Right 🤣 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
typical farmer.
He's a machinery masochist
@@ebolawarrior451the new JD exact emerge planters look great from what I’ve seen. And cheaply built definitely isn’t the correct term. Those frames on those planters are tough as nails.
Looking forward to seeing the footprints from cat-dog in the concrete 😊😜
Last shot he was by Zack's pickup! You must have a Cat-Dog inspection before the OK can be given!
Zach's Accountant is making sure that equipment is staying on the depreciation schedule.
A good accountant is a valuable thing 😂
My father /farmer always wanted it to rain on Saturday night so by Monday it would be dry enough to work.
Hmm very smart of him
Hey I’d like for us to get to know each other more if you’re down for that?
No concrete work is complete unless there's foot prints from the Cat-Dog....
That look he shoots the camera when he gets the support leg wrong.
"No one saw that, right?" 😂
I figured only a couple hundred thousand people would notice
@@MillennialFarmer All the stuff you do up there Zach, you're bound to make a mistake here and there throughout the day. lol
@@AndrewGrey22 That wasn't a mistake, that's an educational opportunity. He was just showing us why that way wouldn't work. Of course I'm sure he has to practice that off camera some so that he gets it right when he's filming too.
The actor who plays millenial farmer got it wrong....
Finally getting a new exact emerge. I knew the day would come, I just didn’t know when.
Good for you
Hey id like for us to get to know each other more if you’re down for that?
It’s good too see that your getting rain
Yeah it sure is
Hey I’d like for us to get to know each other more if you’re down for that?
Here's hoping the new planter doesn't come pre-installed with wonky sensors or other electrical gremlins.
We have had no rain and 100+ degrees for the last 2 months here in East Texas......................It really SUX.
It really does suck
Hey id like for us to get to know each other more if you’re down for that?
Hate to hear you got rid of the old blower. Becky seemed so nice
She really was
Hey id like for us to get to know each other more if you’re down for that?
The thing I find most fascinating about different areas is if they use front or rear discharge concrete trucks. Boy I need friends😂
Haha 😂 you sure do!
Hey I’d like for us to get to know each other more if you’re down for that?
I haven’t seen any but watching this video I thought for sure you would have comments about working around the pto while the tractor is running. I do it and I know I shouldn’t but it’s just easier 🤷♂️
I'm one of the last people that touches the planters before they get shipped out, would be cool if ive ran yours off. Also the IRHD valves are much better now then they previously were.
Gotta love progress
We sure do!
Hey I’d like for us to get to know each other more if you’re down for that?
Thanks for the video watching from Reno NV
Wow
Hey id like for us to get to know each other more if you’re down for that?
The weather is always unpredictable Zack. My school buddy i graduated in "83" , northwest of Braham mn, jad a freek hail storm 2 weeks ago this friday. Wiped out his soybeans and corn fieilds to the stems. Total loss and devastating.
Good thing he always puts insurance on it.
Doesn't pay everything, but at least its some return on his investment.
Love watching your videos, no matter how long they are. 👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🚜🚜
'83 was a bad year in Indiana. Wet until June then no rain until September. I lost pretty much everything
@@marknicholson2718 , ya those were tough years. Ya get the good and the bad, mother nature of course.
If you are still farming... Good for you! It's a battle every year. 👍
Thnx Zack..
He really does deserve it haha

Great watching been a while busy in the UK 🇬🇧 delivery of trucks 🚚 all over England 🇬🇧
Hello Zach and folks, Here in N.Missouri we went from cat 4 drought 3 weeks ago to 8 inches of rain crazy extremes. Now High pressure sitting over the heartland and heat index of 110-115 last 3 days with 2 to go.. I am not kidding! Dont believe me just look at Kansas City's weather. Astonishing.
He is very knowledgeable, I appreciate his insights

Are you a farmer - i thought you were an actor playing a farmer😮😂
🤣👍
😂😂
And he does this job perfectly! 😁
Can't be a round a farm and not pick up on farming jokes.
Method acting, he's been practicing 😁
same exact planter, minus the building that fell on it.
Lucky you. East of Detroit Lakes we are so dry . I'm still under 4 inches for the summer
Ohhh wow sorry that sucks
Hey id like for us to get to know each other more if you’re down for that?
Zach, my dad and I just finished building our Rock picker about 50 miles from you. We call it the rain maker for good reason.
No no
Should have had someone scribe the Millennial Farmer emblem in the concrete.
Haha someone had better!!
Hey id like for us to get to know each other more if you’re down for that?
Glad you got rain (Whatever that is) Ongoing drought continues in central TX
With no end in sight
The new pad is just the start. There will be a compressor next don’t ‘cha know and then one by one a set of tools here and another pad there and maybe just a few brighter lights and then a heater too.. 😊. Thanks, take care and peace out.
I do hope that you will get a great harvest this year. 👍 But I do miss the podcast...😢 For the moment, i’m listening at every episode over and over again, because it keep my head calm and puts a smile on my face. Best wishes from Sweden. 🇸🇪
Ye Zach where’s the podcasts gone
@@Ben_corrigan6200 : They have taken a break from it so they actually can spend some time with their families. No point burning the candle from both ends. Family first! 👍
We've just been too busy to do more podcasts at the moment, but hopefully we can do some this winter!
@@MillennialFarmer : Don’t worry about that... 👍 It will happen when it happens! And remember, the best episodes are the ones when you all just were relaxed and just had fun! (Keep in mind, Randy got norwegian genes so he can’t really handle adult pop as good as a swede... It has always been a competition between Sweden and norway. 😂)
Check out something called soil cement. You mix cement powder into soil with a special rototiller and then pack it.
No kidding? I'll check into this
Or lime treat it with a lime slurry, mix it, and roll it in with a smooth drum. May be a little cheaper than soil cement
Are you going to be at the Farm Progress Show ?? Love to shake your paw I’m traveling there from Australia and looking forward to that Paddy in Oz
It’s cement treated soil. It’s great for compaction and we use it often at airports before concrete is placed.
It’s still soil tho. You will have dust and the tires and tracks will rip it up instantly
I love the dogs enjoying rides in the side by side.
New planter coming! Well done.
Love to see progress!!
Hey I’d like for us to get to know each other more if you’re down for that?
That was short and sweet Zach lol glad to see everything is going well. I can't wait for harvest time
Can’t wait for harvest time
Hey I’d like for us to get to know each other more if you’re down for that?
In south central Minnesota, we're in our third summer of drought. That was preceded by a summer of flooded fields. Its getting hard to deny climate change and the potential effect on our nation's food supply.
Hmm very true

Do you have trouble putting a square peg in a square hole? The dogs want another ride! JM
Hey id like for us to get to know each other more if you’re down for that?
We would Love some rain here in Western Iowa. We are dry. The beans have been really stressed for some time but they are looking rough. Luckily our crops are in Central Iowa and we are looking at another year of record yields. And we are finally getting a new bean planter. Not sure why it’s been years, but it’s way way overdue. I think it’s 20yrs old! Oldest piece of equipment we have ever had. Yikes!
Damn 20yrs is a long time
Hey I’d like for us to get to know each other more if you’re down for that?
I want to see some serious cab corn. Maybe you load up the cab of the Peterbilt.
Have you ever counted how many different tractors/trucks/side by sides/and other things with engines you drive in one typical day?
Hmm
Hey id like for us to get to know each other more if you’re down for that?
should have had Ila's signature & date and/or the dogs' prints in the fresh concrete...
I was waiting for you to show your dogs making tracks in the fresh concrete 😂

We have had hardly any dry days in July or August this year in Scotland the wettest summer since 1985 has caused havoc with Silage and grain Harvest with Hay almost Impossible
It must be Global Warming, LOL.
We love and have to thank you all for all you do for us . Thank you and your work and family.
Cool Zach. 😊😊😊
No Zach.. We didn't see you put the jackstand on the wrong way
I forgot u made videos. They are so far and few between lately
Semi retired.
As a produce farmer here in north texas i am never satisfied with the weather!
It helps if you line up the hole before inserting the pin. That's what she said.
great video. Thank you
The concrete will be nice for shelving
Haha true
Hey id like for us to get to know each other more if you’re down for that?
I wouldn’t put concrete in the building either like you said it’s only storage space it’s got rock it’ll not get wet and muddy it’s fine that 100k is better off in the race car lol or half a tractor can’t wait for harvest ready to see how everyone’s crops did this year thanks for sharing
Awesome video as usual, really looking forward to the next one, not enough of them need to be longer 🤞keep safe
It's about to get busy again!
Love your videos! Thanks for sharing your day!. I love the dogs enjoying rides in the side by side..
Just when you get the planter to work properly for a full season you trade it in..🤦♂️😆 hopefully you dont go through the same bull crap with the new one..

Haha 😂
Hey I’d like for us to get to know each other more if you’re down for that?
Farmers must make a lot of money planters cost a lot
Expensive equipment means close margins of profit
Yeah they cost a fortune

That's what she said?! 🤔 😂
Got the planter so it didn't drive you crazy and then traded it for anew one. But that is farming as you need to upgrade and keep up with the the times. Thank you for your making the videos so we can see what you all are doing.
I like his style, he is very creative
Love your videos! Thanks for sharing your day!
Thanks Thomas
Welker farms has what you want on new sprayer in there latest video dual Saber
Be glad you're getting rain. We haven't had any rain since mid June and that was only 2/10 of an in. South of Stephenville Texas
Short, sweet, to the point kinda video.
Hopefully I'll make it to Bristol this year to see ya!
Great video!
Love what you do... having worked on a dairy farm as a kid, I get it.... much respect. Also, I love your dogs. More of them, please.

Congratulations on the new planter. Great video.
Will you be using that OLD “wrinkly” 8320 on that new planter? 🤣🤘🍺
I like his style, he is very creative
Thanks for another great video. It was interesting and enjoyable.
Glad to hear you got a new planter. Hopefully it will work great and do a good job for you. Being it is at two different Ag shows would have it checked over good by your dealer when it shows up. Hard telling who turned what on it being hauled around.
Nice piece of concrete you put in the shed for shelving. Good going Zach.
Good to see Dad around. Nice man.
About it I guess. Thanks for everything Zach.
The Iowa Farm Boy.

Please give Anna a ride in the combine ! She asked nicely.
Anna in the combine! I can't wait already! 2 million, lets go!
That's how you do it . Put safeties up then crawl under and take alternator off. 😅 Be Safe...
Why did you not put a door on front and back of the new equipment shed. It will shorten the time to get things out of shed?
Hmm true
Hey id like for us to get to know each other more if you’re down for that?
You got it
Nice looking slab.
I bet you say that to all the farmers.
Grandpa said "If farmers ain´t complaining about the weather, something´s wrong with´em." 🤷♂
Short and sweet... 🙂
They put exactly zero joints in that new concrete. You will have cracks starting to appear in the very near future.
Exactly!
Hey I’d like for us to get to know each other more if you’re down for that?
I'd be very surprised if you don't end up with cat paw prints 🐾 on the new concrete 🤦🏻♂️😂 keep it between the rows👍🏻

Smart to keep upgrading. Never ends.
Yup, it is for sure a farmer thing world wide..
Finished citrus harvest today, we can take some rain now.. 😂
Same way with beekeepers with the weather!!😁😁 🐝
Guess I have been doing this too long. You have more electric lines than hydraulic lines. Might explain 200 bushel corn vs 100 in the 80's! Love you channel keep up the good work.
If your coming to hoooston I’m there!!😜
Can you take the camera long when you ride in the old square body and can you take us for a ride on the old tractor?
Had friends buy old car and put in shed with concrete floor. Immediately start rusting. Dirt floor not a problem.
If that the planter that Larson demoed this spring... think I should get a tee-shirt. 😂
Their sticker is on the frame somewhere.
Always tell cement drivers where wash down area is before they pour.
A494 4 row wouldn't be so difficult as I remember.
You get trains going pass your place
Hey I’d like for us to get to know each other more if you’re down for that?
The queries about concrete in the shed is as mentioned like shooting over the goal somehow, a harder surface in an area like that could as well be asphalt and be laid out on the yard as well- but now I’m talking expensive again and everything needs to be thought in terms of value for money!
Great job!
Just a side note: Asphalt is a nice material for linear travel, but in the end, it is a deformable material that easily gets ripped to shreds by heavy machinery doing slow tight turns. And it doesn't like static point loads, especially from hard things (like those support legs that need to be inserted the right way around) at all.
Maybe a layer of gravel stones in the shed will keep the dust down and fill the gaps on the sides. Later you can asphalt the gravel instead of concrete..... . .
It has gravel on it. Minnesota gravel looks like dirt.
He is very creative, I like his style
Hi! Good video! Greetings from Hungary!
Thanks for the video!
So are you buying the planter with the "Larson Farm"-sticker on it?
